Florence Woods
Mrs. Florence Woods, 71, of Comer, died Tuesday, January 18, 2000, at Cobb Health Care.
Mrs. Woods was born February 28, 1928, in Gainesville. She was a daughter of the late Carl Thomas and Tressie Wilson Lord.
Mrs. Woods had been employed with Harmony Grove Mills.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Woods.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 20, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Donald Wilson and Jimmy Owensby officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.
Survivors include two sons, Marvin Brown, Homer, and Harry Columbus Thomas, Danielsville; two daughters, Dorothy Garrett, Comer, and Martha Worley, Homer; 12 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Ivie Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

John L. Hooper
John L. Hooper, 70, of Winder, died Friday, January 21, 2000, at his residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Hooper was born March 19, 1930, in Hall County. He was a son of the late Eston V. Hooper Sr. and Hattie Hooper.
Mr. Hooper was a retired bricklayer and was a member of the Bricklayers Union.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 22, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson. Burial was in the Sugar Hill Baptist Church cemetery, Hall County.
Survivors include four sons, John Wayne Hooper, Belton, S.C., Geryl Hooper, Social Circle, and Randy Hooper and Gary Hooper, both of Winder; one sister, Ruby Jack Walsh, Sacramento, Calif.; two brothers, Eston V. Hooper Jr., Commerce, and Horace Hooper, Waco, Texas; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Evans Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mary A. Ertzberger
Mrs. Mary Ann Ertzberger, 61, of Buchanan, sister of Lewis Minnix, Commerce, died Friday, January 21, 2000.
Mrs. Ertzberger was born in Atlanta.
Funeral services were held Monday, January 24, in the chapel of L.W. McDonald & Son Funeral Home, Cumming.
Survivors, in addition to her brother, include her husband, Marvin Ertzberger; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Mike Carson, Cumming; four sons, Russell Ertzberger, Troyce Ertzberger and Rodney Ertzberger, all of Buchanan, and Tony Ertzberger, Cumming; one sister, Sylvia Minnix, Atlanta; brother, Terry Minnix, Buchanan; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
L.W. McDonald & Son Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mollie J. Graham
Mrs. Mollie Jane Jordan Graham, 75, of Danielsville, died Tuesday, January 18, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Graham was born April 9, 1924, in Franklin County. She was a daughter of the late Barry and Lilly Bryant Jordan.
Mrs. Graham was a homemaker and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Rufus Graham, two brothers, Clarence and Clyde Jordan, and two sisters, Annie Mae Scarboro and Ruthell Jordan.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 20, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with the Rev. Glenn Guest and Otis Graham officiating. Burial was in the Bethel Baptist Church cemetery. Tony Graham, Howard Goss, Jason Autry, Wayne Moone, Grady Autry and Eric Adams served as pallbearers.
Survivors include two daughters, Mae Sue Childers and Martha Adams, both of Danielsville; one son, James Graham, Danielsville; three brothers, A.L. Jordan and Bill Jordan, both of Danielsville, and Junior Jordan, Comer; eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Pruitt Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Parker D. Hanley
Parker Daniel Hanley, infant son of Danny and Manda Haley Hanley, Hull, died Wednesday, January 19, 2000.
Private services were held with the Rev. Barry Black officiating.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his grandparents, Jim and Nancy Hanley, Athens, and Beth Haley, Comer.
Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.

MRS. LORD
Mt. Olive Baptist Church member
COMMERCE - Mrs. Linda Joyce Maney Lord, 51, died Thursday, January 20, 2000, at her residence.
Mrs. Lord was born April 18, 1948, in Banks County. She was a daughter of the late Lee Edgar and Vera Beatrice Crumley Maney.
Mrs. Lord was employed with the Jackson County Health Department and was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 23, at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the Rev. Carlton Peters officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce. Steven Cash, Todd Bramlett, Eddie Hubbard, Cary Hubbard, Ricky Hogan and Kenneth Campbell served as pallbearers.
Survivors include her husband, Mike Lord; two sons, Derrick Lord and Dustin Lord, both of Commerce; three sisters, Brenda Cash, Homer, Vernell Hubbard, Lula, and Gwen Maney, Commerce; and two grandchildren, Bailee and Jessie Lord, both of Commerce.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, was in charge of arrangements.

J.Y. Hancock
J.Y. Hancock, 78, of Danielsville, died Thursday, February 3, 2000.
A native of Madison County, Mr. Hancock was a son of the late Claude D. and Mittie Jarrells Hancock.
He was a member of Tabor Chapel CME Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 5, at Tabor Chapel CME Church with the Revs. Morris L. Colvin Sr. and Franklin D. Winters officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include two sisters, Ruth Beasley, Danielsville, and Vera Gunnells, Dahlonega; and two brothers, Paul Hancock, Dothan, Ala., and Teddy R. Hancock, Dallas, Texas.
Hurley Funeral Home, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.

Traves M. Feathers
Mrs. Traves M. Feathers, 83, of Colbert, died Thursday, February 3, 2000.
A native of Madison County, Mrs. Feathers was a daughter of the late David and Lena Martin.
She was a longtime resident of the Colbert area and was a member of Colbert Baptist Church. Mrs. Feathers was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Feathers.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 5, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Revs. Don Fuller and Herman Nation officiating. Burial was in Westlawn Cemetery, Monroe.
Mrs. Feathers is survived by a niece and nephew, Sydney and Dewayne Pearson, Hull.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.

Klein M. Fowler
Klein McRae Fowler, 76, of Milton, Fla., formerly of Danielsville, died Wednesday, February 2, 2000.
Mr. Fowler was born June 8, 1923, in Madison County. He was a son of the late A. Hoyt Fowler and Reba Crowe Fowler.
Mr. Fowler served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and he served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He retired from the military on December 1, 1967.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 7, in the chapel of Lewis Funeral Home, Milton, Fla., with U.S. Navy Chaplain Ken Griffin officiating. Burial was in Barrancas National cemetery with full military honors.
Survivors include his wife, Helen L. Fowler; three sons, Ronald Fowler, Riverside, Calf., John Fowler, Milton, Fla., and Wayne Fowler, Corona, Calif.; one brother, Keith Fowler, Hull; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Lewis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Floy M. Yarbrough
Mrs. Floy Mildred Yarbrough, 89, of Athens, died Tuesday, February 1, 2000.
A native of Madison County, Mrs. Yarbrough was a daughter of the late Laura Morris and Redden Franklin Thompson.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Alfred Colquitt Yarbrough.
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 3, at Hull Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Crowe officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn Jane and Gene Smart, Winterville, and Melba and David Kellar, Hull; one sister, Mrs. Zuline Smith, Commerce; four grandchildren, Terry Smart, Athens, Cheree Smart, Winterville, Chris Kellar, Suwanee, and Matt Kellar, Stone Mountain; and seven great-grandchildren, Brandi, Lauren and Mallory Smart, Brent Gulley, and Shannon, Adam and Megan Kellar.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, was in charge of arrangements.

Evelyn O. Nelms
Mrs. Evelyn O. Nelms, 74, of Hull, died Thursday, February 10, 2000.
A native of Washington County, Mrs. Nelms was a daughter of the late Arthur L. and Julia Wiggins O'Quinn.
A graduate of Towns County High School and the University of Georgia, she had lived in Madison County since 1946. Mrs. Nelms was retired from Madison County High School as a teacher, with 27 years of service. She also served as head of the Business Education Department.
For a number of years, Mrs. Nelms was manager of the Madison County Teachers Federal Credit Union and Annual Staff sponsor. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Saturday, February 12, at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Robert Passmore, Ray Jenkins and Bill Wood officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mike Rice, Fred Chambers, Ron Miller, Jim Perkins, John Jackson and W.G. Kesler served as pallbearers.
Survivors include her husband, J. Hoyt Nelms; three daughters, Angela Rouse and Linda Kay Holloman, both of Hull, and Judy Cochrane, Marietta; one son, Leonard H. Nelms, Houston, Texas; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Madison County Cancer Society Relay for Life, 1060 Gaines School Road, Athens, GA 30605.
Lord and Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.
