TOCCOA - William Asbury "Dub" Kesler Sr., 81, died Wednesday, January 26, 2000.
A native of Stephens County, Mr. Kesler was a son of the late William Kesler and Myrtle Collins Kesler and the step-son of the late Tressie Power Kesler.
He had been employed with Hartwell Mills and was retired from Reigel Mills. Mr. Kesler was a member of Hill Street Baptist Church, the James Sunday School Class and The Happy Age Fellowship Group.
Funeral services were held Thursday, January 27, in the chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Garrison officiating. Burial was in Stephens Memorial Gardens. James Adams, Dennis Brewer, Marvin Carter, Odell Coker, Don Shirley and Steve Worthy served as pallbearers. Members of the James Sunday School Class served as honorary escort.
Survivors include his wife, Idell Anderson Kesler; two daughters, Peggy Cain, Commerce, and Phyllis Davis, Toccoa; one son, William A. Kesler Jr., Toccoa; two sisters, Geneva Nix, Nicholson, and Helen Brewer, Commerce; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

MR. JORDAN

DECATUR - Woodrow W. Jordan, 87, brother of Doris Langston, Commerce, died Friday, February 4, 2000.
Mr. Jordan worked many years in the textile industry.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 7, in the chapel of Wages & Sons Funeral Home, Stone Mountain, with the Rev. Dick Osborne officiating. Burial was in Melwood Cemetery.
Survivors, in addition to his sister, include his wife of 59 years, Thelma Saxon Jordan; two sons, Woodrow Jordan Jr., Decatur, and Syndell Jordan, Bogart; two daughters, Annette Hardy and Brenda Dunn, both of Loganville; sister, Lucille Saxon, Lumberton, N.C.; 12 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

COMMERCE - James Thomas Potts, 53, died Tuesday, February 8, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.
A native of Jackson County, Mr. Potts was a son of the late Jim Henry and Eula Mae Hayes Potts.
He was employed as a truck driver.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 10, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Revs. Donald Wilson and Charles Hardy officiating. Burial will be in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.
Survivors include his wife, Jackie Dianne Potts; two sons, Terry Potts and Jeff Potts, both of Commerce; one daughter, Shannon Maria Lester, Commerce; one brother, Henry Arthur Potts, Nicholson; one sister, Louise Brown, Maysville; and two grandchildren.
The family was to have received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

MISS PASSMORE

GILLSVILLE - Miss Kathryn Ellen Passmore, 26, of Gillsville, died Thursday, January 27, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center following a sudden illness.
Miss Passmore was a daughter of James and Wilda Passmore, Gillsville. She was of the Baptist denomination.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 1, in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville, with the Revs. L.C. Buice and Rex Richards officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include seven brothers, Johnny, Steve and Charles Passmore, all of Flowery Branch, Tommy Passmore, Maysville, Boby Passmore, Buford, Kenneth Passmore, Gillsville, and Richard Passmore, Lula; one sister, Susan Robinson, Flowery Branch; 19 nieces and nephews and one great-niece.

BOWMAN - Mrs. Linda Diane Bell Findley, 54, died Tuesday, February 1, 2000.
Mrs. Findley was born December 14, 1945, in Fulton County. She was a daughter of the late Tom and Era Bell.
Mrs. Findley was a homemaker.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, February 2, in the Vanna United Methodist Church cemetery with the Rev. Jack Findley III officiating.
Mrs. Findley is survived by her husband, Jack Findley Jr.; and one sister, Barbara Cox, Commerce.

BRASELTON - Duane Wyckoff, 43, formerly of Gwinnett County, died Monday, February 7, 2000.
Mr. Wyckoff was born in New Jersey, having moved to Atlanta in 1964. He was a son of Duane and Dorothy Wyckoff, Snellville.
Mr. Wyckoff was a graduate of Berkmar High School and was employed as a machinist with Ciba Vision. He was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church, Auburn.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 10, at Wages Snellville Chapel with Pastor Rusty Newman officiating. Burial will be in Eternal Hills Memory Gardens.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Kathy Wyckoff; two daughters, Shanda DeLeon, Lilburn, and Cassandra Turner, Braselton; one son, Christopher Wyckoff, Braselton; one step-son, Joey Wellborn, Hoschton; one sister, Diane Skelton, Grayson; three brothers, Donald Wyckoff, Snellville, Daniel Wyckoff, Latimore, N.C., and Dale Wyckoff, Toccoa; paternal grandmother, Mary Wyckoff, Buford; and two grandchildren, Emily DeLeon, Norcross, and Noah Wellborn, Hoschton.

JEFFERSON - Mrs. Dorothy Ann Daniel, 60, died Sunday, February 6, 2000.
A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Daniel was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Willie Young.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 10, at Maxey Hill Baptist Church, Jefferson, with the Rev. A. Jackson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Daniel Sr.; two daughters, Michelle Browner and Wanda Daniel, both of Jefferson; four sons, Eugene Daniel, Andre Daniel and Martin Daniel, all of Jefferson, and Anthony Daniel, Athens; step-mother, Mrs. Betty Jean Young, Winder; eight brothers, I.V. Young and Norman Lee Young, both of Atlanta, David Young, Keith Young, Robert Young, Sherman Lee Young and J.B. Young, all of Jefferson, and Kenny Young, Ohio; four sisters, Dolly Mae Tuggle and Lennise Little, both of Jefferson, and Ethel Lee Young and Charnessa Lee Young, both of Winder; and 15 grandchildren.

Mrs. Lillian Annette Almond, of Commerce, died Friday, February 11, 2000.
A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Almond was born January 5, 1949. She was a daughter of the late Will Nathan and Lizzie Davenport.
Mrs. Almond had been employed with Solar Tech, Commerce, and was a member of New Faith Methodist Church, Commerce, where she served faithfully until her death.
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 13, at New Faith Methodist Church with the Rev. Frank Earls officiating.
Survivors include daughter, Paige Almond, Macon; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Torris Butterfield, Union City; and sister and brother-in-law, Rebbecca and Samuel Chaney, Commerce.

Beverly J. Patton
Mrs. Beverly June Patton, 47, of Homer, died Wednesday, February 9, 2000, at her residence following a sudden illness.
A native of Jackson County, Mrs. Patton was a daughter of Marlin and Elizabeth Griffin, Homer.
She was a homemaker and a member of Bethany Christian Church.
Funeral services were held Sunday, February, 13, at Bethany Christian Church with the Rev. Jerry Payne officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her husband, Billy Patton; one son, Gregory Patton, Homer; and one grandchild.

Mrs. Hazel Jeanette "Gennie" Wilson Gillespie, 77, of Maysville, died Friday, February 5, 2000, at her residence following an extended illness.
Mrs. Gillespie was born in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Willie Winford and Minnie Elizabeth Wilson.
She was a housewife and was of the Baptist denomination.
