MRS. HARRISON
Jackson County native
BETHLEHEM - Mrs. Julia Patrick Harrison, 88, died Thursday, March 16, 2000.
Mrs. Harrison was born in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Miles and Ara House Patrick.
She taught from 1930 through 1969 at Rockwell, County Line, Holsenbeck and Bethlehem Elementary Schools. Mrs. Harrison was a member of Rockwell Universalist Church and attended Bethlehem United Methodist Church since 1947.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest C. Harrison.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 18, in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home, Winder, with the Rev. William H. Kirby and Dr. Rebecca Jones officiating. Burial was in the Bethlehem United Methodist Church cemetery.
Survivors include three sisters, Nell Fleeman, Winder, Lucille McDonald, Gainesville, and Peggy Harrell, Athens; one brother, Clyde "Cope" Patrick, Winder; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Carter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MR. MILLER
Father of countian
WINDER - Ray G. Miller, 82, father of Emily Miller Jester, Hoschton, died Friday, March 17, 2000.
A native of Haralson County, Mr. Miller was a son of the late Elbert Stanley and Tina Emaline Bowman Miller.
He was the owner of a marina.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 19, in Crest Lawn Memorial Park, Atlanta, with the Rev. Wilburn Hill officiating.
Survivors, in addition to his daughter, include his wife, Helen West Miller; daughter, Brenda Miller Townsend, Winder; three step-daughters, Elaine Tannehill, Henderson, Nev., Karen Brownlee, Rutledge, and Sherry Minton, Loganville; one step-son, Gary McCullough, Rutledge; three sisters, Ruth Lassiter, Centre, Ala., Irene Gill, Waycross, and Atha Styles, Marietta; one brother, G.B. Miller, Centre, Ala.; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, was in charge of arrangements.

MRS. WHITE
Retired lunchroom manager
SANFORD, FLA. - Mrs. Olive S. White, 73, died Friday, March 17, 2000.
Mrs. White was born in Crawfordville, a daughter of the late Clarence Blakely and Minnie Olive Park Smith, Winder.
She moved to Sanford, Fla., following retirement as the lunchroom manager for the East Baton Rouge, La., School System. Mrs. White was a member of Upsala Community Presbyterian Church.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, March 21, in Rose Hill cemetery with the Rev. Larry Rary officiating.
Survivors include her husband, Jack W. White Jr.; one daughter, Sandra W. Kearney, Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas; two sons, Michael Blake White, Altamonte Springs, Fla., and Robert Ward White, Playa del Rey, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
Carter Funeral Home, Winder, was in charge of arrangements.

MR. RICE
Shady Grove Baptist member
HIGH SHOALS - Edgar M. Rice, 96, formerly of Mineral Bluff, died Monday, March 20, 2000.
Mr. Rice was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nettie Hawkins Rice, and a son, Paul Rice.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 22, at Shady Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Billy Driskell, Ned Golden and Jerry Rice officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Irene Bailey, Braselton, Margaret R. Clay, Buford, and Nell Cloud, Lilburn; two sons, David R. Rice, Lexington, and Herbert Rice, Auburn; one brother, George Rice, Mineral Bluff; 10 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Henry Cochran Funeral Home, Blue Ridge, was in charge of arrangements.

MRS. WILLIS
Sister of countian
ELBERTON - Mrs. Susie Mae Reed Willis, 90, of Elberton, sister of Clara Strong, Commerce, died Saturday, March 18, 2000.
A native of Wilkes County, Mrs. Willis was a daughter of the late Tom and Nellie Reed.
She was a member of Fortson Grove Baptist Church.
Mrs. Willis was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Willis.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 22, at Fortson Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Jones officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors, in addition to her sister, include one grandchild; and a niece and nephew raised in the home, Susie Smith and Joe Harper, both of Elberton.
McKinney-Neal Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.

ADELE JOHNSON
Miss Adele Johnson, 91, of Athens, died Friday, March 17, 2000.
Miss Johnson was a native of Maysville. She was a daughter of the late Sam and Sallie Grant Johnson.
Graveside services were held Monday, March 20, in East Lawn Memorial cemetery with the Rev. Michael Hood officiating.
Survivors include one daughter, Rosa Mae Jefferson, Athens; a granddaughter of the home, Sallie Walker Hood, Elberton; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Jackson-McWhorter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MR. SHOOK
U.S. Navy veteran
CORNELIA - James Truett Shook, 72, died Monday, February 28, 2000, at his residence following a sudden illness.
Mr. Shook was born April 20, 1927, in Towns County. He was a son of the late Garland Shook Sr. and Zuria Barrett Shook.
Mr. Shook was a graduate of Towns County High School and attended North Georgia Technical Institute. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Shook was a farmer, a former employee of Scovill Manufacturing and a retired correctional officer with Lee Arrendale State Prison. He was a member of the Grant Reeves V.F.W. Post #7720 and the Peace Officers Association of Georgia and attended Cornelia Church of God.
Mr. Shook was preceded in death by his first wife, Edna Ruth Martin Shook, a son, Larry James Shook, and two brothers, Garland Shook and Fred D. Shook.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 1, at Cornelia Church of God with the Revs. Wilmer Ivester and Wesley Purcell and Geoffrey Dillard officiating. Burial was in the Unity Baptist Church cemetery with Wesley Bramblett officiating. Military honors were provided by the Grant Reeves V.F.W. Post #7720 Honor Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Wheeler Shook; daughter, Cathy Miller, Elizabethton, Tenn.; daughter and son-in-law, Lesae and Chris Bergeron, Johnson City, Tenn.; son, Terry Shook, Cleveland; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Thelma Shook, Cleveland, and Warren and Linda Shook, Gainesville; step-son, Ronald Kinney, Mt. Airy; step-sons and wives, Dale and Cherri McDuffie, Dennis and Tammy McDuffie and Dan and Connie McDuffie, all of Baldwin, and Daryl and Cheryl McDuffie, Clarkesville; step-mother, Minnie Shook, Young Harris; two sisters, Christine Allen and Irene Land, both of Hiawassee; sisters-in-law, Idell Shook, Hiawassee, and Marianne Shook, Cornelia; 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Cornelia Church of God Building Fund, 2696 J. Warren Road, Cornelia, GA 30531.
Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Cornelia, was in charge of arrangements.

MRS. LEWALLEN
Former Banks Co. resident
GAINESVILLE - Mrs. Alpha Charlotta Lewallen, 95, died Sunday, February 27, 2000, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Lewallen was born in Stephens County. She had lived a period of years in Banks County and the last 50 years in Hall County.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 29, in the chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville, with the Rev. Ricky Elrod officiating. Burial was in the Harmony Baptist Church cemetery, Banks County.
Survivors include five daughters, Louise Wilson, Lula, Alice Gilbert and Scviller Wright, both of Gainesville, Thursey Howell, Commerce, and Lillie Rose Crow, Tampa, Fla.; three sons, William R. "Bob" Lewallen, Clermont, Bennie Lewallen, Pendergrass, and James Ellis Lewallen, Commerce; 38 grandchildren, 59 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial Park Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MR. MOODY
Clarkesville Mill retiree
CORNELIA - James H. Moody Jr., 74, died Friday, February 25, 2000, at Habersham County Medical Center following a sudden illness.
Mr. Moody was born in Habersham County, a son of the late Jim H. and Estelle Black Moody.
He was retired from Clarkesville Mill, with 35 years of service.
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 27, in the chapel of Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Rev. Anthony Shore officiating. Burial was in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Lorene Palmer Moody; one daughter, Patricia Ann Greemon, Baldwin; four sons, Ronald Moody, Alto, Danny Moody and Ted Moody, both of Cornelia, and Terry Moody, Clarkesville; one brother, Chancellor Moody, Baldwin; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.

MRS. VICKERY
Homemaker
MARTIN - Mrs. Ethel Lois Bentley Vickery, 86, of the Red Hill Community, died Tuesday, February 22, 2000, at the Brown Convalescent Center, Royston.
Mrs. Vickery was born December 14, 1913, in Franklin County. She was a daughter of the late James Thomas and Inez Hall Bentley.
Mrs. Vickery was a homemaker and a member of Broad River Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Herschel Vickery, and a brother, Pope Bentley.
Funeral services were held Thursday, February 24, at the B.D. Ginn Memorial Chapel of Ginn Funeral Home, Carnesville, with the Rev. Leon Carson officiating. Burial was in the Allens United Methodist Church cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Joe Vickery, Martin; one daughter, Joyce Vickery, Martin; two sisters, Ruby Ivester, Fairburn, and Ruth Hayes, Carnesville; and one brother, Paul Bentley, Carnesville.
Ginn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
