MRS. DALTON
Stephens County native
MAYSVILLE - Mrs. Zudie Mae Cheek Dalton, 62, died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital, Athens, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Dalton was born January 2, 1938, in Stephens County. She was a daughter of the late Jack and Della Ramey Cheek.
Mrs. Dalton was employed with Solectron and attended Line Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Dalton.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 7, in the chapel of Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, Baldwin, with the Revs. Ernest Hunter and Kenneth McEntire officiating. Burial was in the Line Baptist Church cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Rosa Lee Pancoast, Carnesville; one son, Clinton Turpin, Elberton; one sister, Doris Grantom, Toccoa; three brothers, Andrew Cheek and Phillip Cheek, both of Toccoa, and Jack Cheek, Clarkesville; and two grandchildren.
Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel, was in charge of arrangements.

MISS EDWARDS
Retail clerk
COMMERCE - Miss Lisa Michelle Edwards, 24, died Wednesday, May 3, 2000, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Miss Edwards was born July 28, 1975, in Anderson, S.C. She was employed as a retail clerk.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 5, in the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Dennis Kesler officiating. Burial was in Grey Hill Cemetery, Commerce.
Survivors include one son, Hunter Edwards, Commerce; one sister, Audrey Edwards, Commerce; and grandmother, Mayo Edwards, Commerce.
Ivie Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MRS. WOOD
Housewife
HOSCHTON - Mrs. Mildred L. Wood, 75, died Saturday, May 6, 2000.
Born in Shelby County, Ala., Mrs. Wood was a daughter of the late Edwin and Emmer Dell Crawford Etress.
She had resided in Hoschton for the past 13 years. Mrs. Wood was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church of Hoschton. She was preceded in death by a son, Harry C. Wood, in 1998.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 8, in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home, Winder, with the Revs. John Mark Carpenter and Ricky Thrasher officiating. Burial was in the Hoschton City Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Wood, Hoschton; one daughter, Marie Adams, Cumming; one brother, Hylott Armstrong, Birmingham, Ala.; and four grandchildren.
Carter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MR. FAZEKAS
U.S. Air Force veteran
BOGART - Daniel Joseph Fazekas, 56, died Thursday, May 4, 2000.
Mr. Fazekas was born in Virginia, a son of the late Paul and Elizabeth Escoe Fazekas.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1964 to 1972 and worked as a risk manager for Wal-Mart. Mr. Fazekas was a member of the International Church of Christ, Athens, and was a retired state director for Loyal Order of the Moose.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 8, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, West, with the Rev. Sonny Sessions officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Fazekas; three daughters, Lisa Slusher, Hull, Katherine Gee, Colbert, and Amanda Wallace, Cartersville; four sons, Paul Fazekas, Phoenix, Ariz., Andy Fazekas, Commerce, and Scott Nunnally and Travis Nunnally, both of Bogart; two sisters, Mary Scott, Kentucky, and Betty Hanson, Connecticut; 13 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Moose Heart and Moose Haven, 2011 Monroe Hwy., Bogart, GA 30622.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, West, was in charge of arrangements.

MR. YANG
Retired farmer
COMMERCE - Seu Yang, 78, died April 21, 2000, at BJC Medical Center, Commerce, following an extended illness.
Mr. Yang was born March 2, 1922, in Vietnam. He was a retired farmer.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 6, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson. Burial was in Georgia Memorial Park, Marietta.
Mr. Yang is survived by four sons, Seng Yang, California, Charsoua Yang, Des Moines, Iowa, Her Yang, Commerce, and Sou Yang, Jefferson; one daughter, Xai Lee, Des Moines, Iowa; 37 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Evans Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MRS. STEWART
Former teacher
CLAYTON - Mrs. Lucy Cornelia Phillips Wilburn Stewart, 74, of Clayton, died Sunday, May 7, 2000.
Mrs. Stewart was born in Madison County, a daughter of the late Otis and Ruth Watson Phillips.
She was a former teacher and had been employed with Champion Clothing Store. Mrs. Stewart was preceded in death by her first husband, J.B. Wilburn, and her second husband, Edward Stewart.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 9, at Collier Baptist Church with the Revs. Terry Smith and Ray Jenkins officiating. Burial was in Danielsville Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include one daughter, Sheila Kelley, Comer; one son, Johnny Wilburn, Homer; two step-daughters, Marinell Hettrick, Athens, and Susan Williams, Hull; two step-sons, William Stewart, Monticello, and David Stewart, Lakeland, Fla.; one sister, Jean Williams, Commerce; and one grandson, Troy Wilburn.
Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.

MR. BROWN
Logger
STARR, S.C. - Jimmy Carlton Brown, 60, died Thursday, May 4, 2000, at Anderson Area Medical Center.
A native of Banks County, Mr. Brown was a son of James Brown and Mae Linda McLennan, Commerce.
He was a logger and was retired.
Funeral services were held Saturday, May 6, in the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Gordy Craft officiating. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memorial Garden, Anderson, S.C.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Sara R. Brown; one daughter, Nancy Harbin, Anderson, S.C.; one son, Marty Brown, Anderson, S.C.; four step-sons, David Brock, Robert Brock, Roy Brock and Sammy Brock, all of Anderson, S.C.; one brother, Jack Brown, Commerce; two sisters, Kay Hill, Maysville, and Tilly Wilson, Black Mountain, N.C.; and two grandchildren, Jake and Daniel Harbin, both of Anderson, S.C.
Woodlawn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MR. LITTLE
Former Braselton resident
AUBURN - Jackie V. Little, 59, died Wednesday, May 3, 2000.
Born in Barrow County, Mr. Little was a son of Susie Little Gunter, Winder, and the late Frank Little.
He was a former resident of Braselton, a member of The Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame and was of the Baptist denomination.
Mr. Little was preceded in death by his brother, Glenn Little.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 5, in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home, Winder, with the Revs. Gary Carlyle, Jimmy Strickland and Ricky Tuggle officiating. Burial was in the Union Baptist Church cemetery, Hall County.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include one brother, the Rev. Edwin Little, Auburn; nephew, Mike Little, Statham; former wife, Dottie Pugh Little, Suwanee; step-daughter, Gina Whitaker, Suwanee; and step-granddaughter, Jasmine Whitaker, Suwanee.
Carter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MRS. MARTIN
Mother of three
WINDER - Mrs. Susan Reneé Martin, 31, died Thursday, May 4, 2000.
Mrs. Martin was a daughter of Russell and S. Galye Ward Doster, Statham. She attended Bethlehem Baptist Church.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by a brother, Scott Brady Doster.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 7, in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home, Winder. Burial was in Barrow Memorial Gardens.
Survivors, in addition to her parents, include her husband, David M. Martin; three daughters, Emily Reneé Martin, Kayla Gayle Martin and Ashley Jewel Martin, all of Winder; one brother, Russ Doster, Statham; two sisters, Janet Beech and Amy Doster Jackson, both of Winder; and grandmothers, Hazel Doster, Winder, and Johnnie Keesler, Brockton.
Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

MRS. STEWART
Reared in Jackson County
LOGANVILLE - Mrs. Helen P. Stewart, 82, died Friday, March 10, 2000.
Mrs. Stewart was raised in the Jackson County area and was a graduate of Piedmont College. She was a retired teacher with DeKalb County Schools and was a member of Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Stewart was a former resident of Wesley Woods Towers and a current resident of Southern Plantation, Loganville.
A memorial service was held Monday, March 13, in the chapel of A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home with Dr. John A. Simmons officiating.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ted A. Stewart, Loganville; one sister, Mary Johnson, Villa Rica; one brother, Ray Pruitt, Commerce; and three grandchildren, Michael, Scot and Margaret.
A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
