Mrs. Hallie Sue McCarty, 86, of Commerce, formerly of Athens, died Friday, April 28, 2000.
A native of Arnoldsville, Mrs. McCarty was a daughter of the late John Wesley and Ella Epps Hale McCarty.
She was retired from the garment industry and attended the Commerce Church of God.
Graveside services were held Monday, May 1, in the Hale Family cemetery with the Rev. John Webber and Roberta Owensby officiating.
Survivors include four nieces, Gloria E. McCarty, Athens, Brenda K. Smith, Danielsville, Peggy McCarty Clem, Carey, N.C., and Ann Hale Kitchens, Winterville; four nephews, Donald McCarty, Raleigh, N.C., Buddy McCarty, Franklin, N.C., Billy Hale, Watkinsville, and Edward Hale, Athens; and special friends, David and Roberta Owensby, Matt Craig and Mozelle Clark.

Rickey J. Archer
Rickey J. Archer, 39, of Center, died Sunday, April 30, 2000, at his residence.
Mr. Archer was born December 21, 1960, in Jackson County. He was a son of J.D. Archer, Center, and Betty Lou Martin Matthew, Nicholson.
Mr. Archer was employed with Adams Tile & Stucco and was a member of Freedom Church of God.
Memorial services were held Tuesday, May 2, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Tim Garrett officiating.
Survivors, in addition to his parents, include his wife, Darleen Archer; one son, Andrew Archer, Comer; one daughter, Amanda Archer, Comer; two brothers, Bryan Archer and Mickey Archer, both of Nicholson; and two sisters, Vickey Matthews, Danielsville, and Sherry Presley, Comer.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1060 Gaines School Road, Athens, GA 30605.

Henry K. McCannon
Henry Kermit McCannon, 89, of Comer, died Monday, May 1, 2000.
A native of Madison County, Mr. McCannon was a son of the late W. Henry and Lunette Wheeles McCannon.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, working in the shipyards in Savannah during the war. Mr. McCannon was a farmer and carpenter and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Comer.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 3, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville. Burial was in Ila Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Martha McCannon; one daughter, Phyllis McCannon, Bogart; two sons, Lane McCannon, Comer, and Dennis Randall McCannon, Conyers; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

John J. Dunleavy Sr.
John James Dunleavy Sr., 88, of Hull, died Thursday, April 27, 2000.
Mr. Dunleavy was born in South Hadley, Mass., a son of the late James and Catherine Callahan Dunleavy.
He served as the department fire chief with South Hadley, Mass., Fire District No. 1, for 34 years. Mr. Dunleavy was of the Catholic faith.
Funeral services will be held at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Cody Dunleavy; one son, John James Dunleavy Jr., Ila; one sister, Peggy McCarthy, Holyoke, Mass.; and three grandchildren, Judi Clare, James Dunleavy and Catherine Dunleavy.

Eileen L. Everett
Mrs. Eileen Lois Everett, 76, of Winder, died Tuesday, April 18, 2000.
Mrs. Everett was retired from R & R Manufacturing, with over 40 years of experience, and was a member of Apalachee Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Thursday, April 20, at Apalachee Baptist Church with the Revs. J.B. Wilkens and Sammy Everett officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Quill and Sandra Everett, Winder, and Ronnie and Pam Everett, Hull; daughter and son-in-law, Virginia and Lewis Greeson, Auburn; one brother, Lewie V. Morgan, Lawrenceville; sister-in-law, Virginia Morgan, Newport News, Va.; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

J.C. Pace
J.C. Pace, 73, of Commerce, died Monday, May 1, 2000, at his residence.
A native of Jackson County, Mr. Pace was a son of the late John and Cora Stewart Pace.
He was a retired building contractor and was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 4, in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, with the Rev. Hilton Purvis officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Gardens, Commerce.
Survivors include his wife, Gaynell Williamson Pace; son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Carol Pace, Commerce; daughter and son-in-law, JoAnn and Ronald Shore, Commerce; two brothers, Roger Pace and Horace Pace, both of Commerce; three sisters, Louise Hart, Genevieve Burke and Oneal Pace, all of Commerce; three granddaughters, Tina Blalock and Jill Wilbanks, both of Commerce, and Sherry Holman, Hull; and two grandsons, Thomas Pace and Russell Shore, both of Jefferson.
The family was to have received friends from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Thurmond N. Nation
Thurmond N. Nation died Wednesday, April 26, 2000.
Mr. Nation was a native of Jackson County. He was a son of the late Gertrude and Otis Wilson, Commerce, and Nute Nation, Toccoa.
Funeral services were held Friday, April 28, at Wards Fairview Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Jones officiating. Burial was in Fairview Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife, Glennis Nation; two sons, the Rev. Danny Nation and Keith Nation, both of McDonaugh; one sister, Merry L. Scoggins, Homer; two brothers, Hershel Nation, Florida, and Roy Wilson; and a number of grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Willie M. Horne
Mrs. Willie Mae Horne, 93, died Monday, May 1, 2000.
Mrs. Horne was born in Madison County. She was a homemaker and a member of the Church of God.
Mrs. Horne was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie A. Horne.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 3, in the chapel of Brown Funeral Home, Danielsville, with the Rev. Douglas Duncan officiating. Burial was in the Evangelical Methodist Church cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Peggy Stewart, Winterville, and Anita York, Comer; six sons, Don Horne, O'Danius Horne, and Talmadge Horne, all of Danielsville, Arnold Horne, Ila, Jay Horne, Pueblo, Colo., and Talmadge Horne Jr., Winterville; 22 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Edna M. Parham
Miss Edna Mae Parham, 82, of Danielsville, died Tuesday, May 2, 2000, at Comer Health Care Center, Comer.
Miss Parham was born June 4, 1917, in Madison County. She was a daughter of the late John M. and Nora Mae Wall Parham.
Miss Parham had been employed in the textile industry and was of the Baptist faith.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 4, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with the Revs. Dennis Kesler and Calvin Coile officiating. Burial will be in the Meadow Baptist Church cemetery. Miss Parham's nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Survivors include four sisters, Alline Carrithers, Bogart, and Evelyn Parham, Helen Bridges and Carrollette Cary, all of Danielsville; one brother, Donald E. Parham, Colbert; and several nieces and nephews.

MR. CLARK
Retired crane operator
JEFFERSON - Bobby R. Clark, 60, died Saturday, April 29, 2000, at St. Mary's Hospital, Athens, following a sudden illness.
Mr. Clark was born March 22, 1940, in Jackson County. He was a son of Cassie Cain Owens, Gainesville, and the late J.C. Clark.
Mr. Clark was a retired crane operator with Roper Pump Co., with 22 years of service, and was a member of Maysville Baptist Church, where he was an ordained deacon.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 2, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, with the Revs. Grady Carpenter, Jerry Smith and Richard Coppage officiating. Burial was in the Oconee Baptist Church cemetery. Brandon Wilbanks, Larry Fleeman, Eric Shelton, Dean Ayers, Trent Ayers and Randall Shaw served as pallbearers.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include his wife, Martha Evelyn Mathis Clark; two sons, James Michael Clark, Homer, and Brian Keith Clark, Jefferson; one daughter, Jennie Wilbanks, Commerce; four sisters, Brenda Whitmore, Gainesville, Shelby Jean Langley, Lula, Cathy Marschburn, South Carolina, and Kay Belshire, Crawford; one brother, Ellis Whitmore, South Carolina; and four grandchildren.

MRS. PERDUE

BRASELTON - Mrs. Annie Mae Perdue, 82, died Friday, April 28, 2000.
Mrs. Perdue had resided in Jackson County for most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Estee and Alice Barrett Gaddis.
Mrs. Perdue was a housewife and was a member of the Braselton Church of God of Prophecy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Perdue, and two sons, Edward Perdue and Thomas Perdue.
Funeral services were held Sunday, April 30, in the chapel of Carter Funeral Home, Winder, with the Revs. Robert Gaddis, Jerry Gaddis and Wilbur Shaffer officiating. Burial was in the Braselton Church of God of Prophecy cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Annie Bell Cash, Braselton, and Joann Hart, Royston; one son, Tillman Perdue, Grayson; one sister, Beatrice Holder, Braselton; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
