Albert Padgett
Mr. Albert Padgett, age 70 of Talking Rock, passed away Friday, July 30, 2010 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Padgett, Talking Rock; son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Pam Padgett, Talking Rock; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Howard Banks, Jasper; brothers, Huey Padgett, Ball Ground, and Donas Padgett, Jasper; and sisters, Lois Trout, Acworth, and Flaudie Duncan, Marble Hill. Nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday, August 2 from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Revs. Robert Allen and Gene Childers officiating. iIntermentfollowed in Price Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Bo Ingram, Charlie Carver, Chris Buchanan, Roger Pendley, Eric Duncan, Carlton Trout, Howard Brooks and Tim Duncan. Honorary pallbearer was Johnny Tanner. The family did accept flowers or make donations to Cagle Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.

Robert Collis
Mr. Robert C. Collis, age 72 of Fairmount, passed away at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital on Sunday, July 18, 2010.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Collis, Fairmount; sons, Dwight and Jason Joe Collis, Fairmount; daughter, Viviaen Hurt, Fairmount; brother, Rembert Collis, Talking Rock; and sister, Shirley Townsend, Jerusalem. Three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 21 from Town Creek Baptist Church with the Revs. Rembert Hancock and Russell Nations officiating. iIntermentfollowed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: Gary Hamrick, Guy Bailey, Michael Colume, Junior Densmore, Marty Hightower and Charlie Long. Cagle Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Joseph Bowlen
Mr. Joseph Adam Bowlen, age 30, of Carterville, Ga., departed this life Sunday, Oct. 24, 2010.
Adam was born Nov. 27, 1979 in Kennesaw, Ga.
Survivors include his parents, Mark and Geraldine H. Bowlen and Rita Fay and James Abernathy; children, Jonathan Bowlen, Hunter Diddle and Jennifer Bowlen, all of Cartersville, and Brian Bowlen, Tucker, Ga.; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marsha and Erick Ingram and Jamie Abernathy, all of Cartersville, Amanda Holt, Talking Rock, and Mary and Randy Nelson, Fairmount, Ga.; grandmother, Mae Gravley, Cartersville; and special cousin, Amanda Brown, Cartersville. Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
A service to celebrate his life was held Saturday, Oct. 30 at 2 p.m. from the Fairmount Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home.

Noby Almand
Noby Norris Garner Almand, age 97 of Thomasville, died Oct. 28, 2010 at Archbold Hospital. Born Jan. 19, 1913 in Troy, Al., she was the daughter of the late Edward B. and Ollie Williford Norris. She was married to Reginald Garner and John Zack Almand, Jr., both of whom preceded her. She was a member of Bayshore United Methodist Church in Tampa, Fl. and New Covenant Church of Thomasville.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, James Reginald and Jane Garner of Jasper and John Zack and Diane Almand, III of Lewisville, Tx.; and daughter and son-in-law, Janice Almand Perez and husband Rev. Barry Perez, Thomasville. Six grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren also survive.

Charles Bruner
Mr. Charles Bruner, age 66 of Jasper, passed away Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010 at Embracing Hospice in Cumming.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Bruner, Jasper; son, Charles Jones, Ball Ground; and daughters, Elizabeth Edwards, Buford, Missy Carpenter, Tennessee, Tammy Mendoza, Dawsonville, Charly Bruner, Buford, and Mandy Waycaster, Jasper. Thirteen grandchildren and one great-grandson also survive.

Laura Buttrum
Mrs. Laura Marnell Buttrum, age 76 of Fairmount, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010 at Gordon Hospital.
She was born Oct. 22, 1934, in Murray County, daughter of the late John Walter and Alma Rose Cox Beal. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Joe Buttrum; two sisters, Opal Evans and Odell Corn; and brother, J.W. Beal. She was a homemaker and a member of the Fairmount First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her three daughters, Teresa Eberly and husband Nelson, Rydal, Vickey Foster and husband Tim and Rita Lacey and husband Matt, all of Fairmount; a son, Ray Buttrum and wife Kimberly, Ranger; sisters, Earsell McElroy Crowe, Fairmount, and Estelle Gilbert, Calhoun; and grandchildren, Lindsey Foster, Joe and Jake Eberly, Emily Lacey and Carle Buttrum. Nieces, nephews, special friends and other relatives also survive.
The funeral service was held Saturday, Oct. 30 at 2 p.m. from the Fairmount First Baptist Church with the Rev. Rick Langston officiating. Music was arranged by Leah and Wesley Roach. Pallbearers were: David and Jeff Sanford, Kevin Blaylock, Greg Silvers, Michael Beal and Kevin Wehunt. iIntermentfollowed at Johnson cemetery in Fairmount.

Robert Eubanks
Robert Edward Eubanks, age 70 of Fort Worth, Tx., formerly of Pickens County, passed away Friday, Oct. 29, 2010 at Baylor All Saints Hospital following a period of declining health.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Holcomb Eubanks; son, William Edward Eubanks, Fort Worth; and sisters, Sara E. Sperin, Tate, Ga., and Kathleen Eubanks Hall and husband Sherwood, Spring Hill, Fl. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
The service was at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Birchman Baptist Church. iIntermentwas in Greenwood Memorial Park.

Jonnie Densmore
Mrs. Jonnie Lou Densmore, age 74 of Nelson, Ga., passed at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta early Thursday morning, Oct. 28, 2010.
Survivors include her husband, James Densmore, Nelson; son, Skipper Densmore, Reavis Mountain Road; daughters, June Sanders and Janet Reid, both of Nelson; and brother, Robert Biddy, Dallas, Ga. Four granddaughters also survive.
The funeral service was held Saturday, Oct. 30 at 11 a.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Revs. Steve Chadwick and Evan Howell officiating. iIntermentfollowed at Bethesda Baptist Church cemetery in Nelson with Keith Gilbert, Bobby Haygood, Jerry Biddy, Tommy Allison and Mike and Steven Densmore serving as pallbearers.

Susan Adcock
Mrs. Susan Norton-Adcock, age 43 of Jasper, Ga., passed late Friday evening, Oct. 29, 2010 at Wellstar-Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Adcock, Jasper; mother, Fran Norton, Jasper; and son, Joshua Candler Adcock, Jasper.
The funeral service was held Monday, Nov. 1 from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the eulogy being given by Steve Lowe. iIntermentfollowed in Crossroads Baptist Church cemetery with Pat and Charles Stanfield, Joe and Scott Eller, Jack Goodwill and Mitchell Stanfield serving as pallbearers.

Eloise Claybough
Mrs. Eloise Johnson “Nanny” Claybough, age 75 of Kennesaw, formerly of Pickens County, peacefully passed away Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010 while scrolling the Western Channel’s directory - one of her favorite pastimes.
She was the daughter of the late Cora Nichols Johnson of Pickens County; the granddaughter of Philadelphia Baptist Church members, the late Misouri (Hales) Nichols and the late Alan Nichols of Jasper; niece of the late Alman Nichols of Mableton, the late Olan Nichols of Talking Rock, the late Flara Mae “Flossie” (Nichols) Johnson of Talking Rock and the late Bessie (Hales) Maddox of Mableton. She was the widow of W.L. “Billy” Claybough who was the chief jailor of the Kennesaw Police Department at the time of his death on April 9, 1997.
Mrs. Claybough’s passions included listening to the Gaithers, watching westerns and watching “them grand young’uns” play baseball.
Survivors include their son and daughter-in-law, Alan “Bo” and Kandi (King) Claybough, Acworth; daughters and son-in-law, Beth Claybough and Cris Petraska, both of Kennesaw, Bill Petraska, Ball Ground, DeDe and Matt Belcher, Acworth; brother and sister-in-law, Walt and Patricia Johnson, Jasper; sister, Sarah Keeter, resident of Grandview Nursing Home in Jasper; grandsons (who were her whole life since the first one came in October 1991), William Michael Petraska and wife Jenna, Acworth, Alan Daniel Petraska and fiance Brittany Barton and Thomas Jacob Petraska, all of Kennesaw, Zachary Alan Claybough, Acworth, and Joseph Samuel Petraska, Kennesaw; nephew, Andrew Keeter, Kennesaw; and nieces and nephews-in-law, Lynn and Terry Cantrell and Joyce and Hubert Smith, all of Jasper. Seven great-nieces, four great-nephews (proudly), two great-great-nieces and several loving cousins also survive.
The family accepted flowers and donations to Cagle Funeral Home to help with expenses. Visitation was held from Thursday morning through just prior to the funeral hour of 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 30 at Philadelphia Baptist Church with the Revs. Joey DuBois and great-nephew Josh Cantrell of Jasper officiating. iIntermentwas in the church cemetery.
“Weezie’s” family wishes to extend sincere appreciation for the love and kindness shown by family, friends and co-workers during the difficult time of letting a precious child of God return home. Cagle Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Danny Darby
Mr. Danny Darby, age 55 of Dawsonville, Ga., passed Sunday evening, Oct. 31 2010 at Northside Hospital-Forsyth in Cumming.
Survivors include his wife, Renee Darby, Dawsonville; sons, Justin and Levi Darby, both of Dawsonville; daughters, Sara Darby and Summer Chambers, both of Dawsonville; brothers, Billy Darby, Cumming, and Steven Darby, Dahlonega; sisters, Gail Darby, Dahlonega, Patty Bearden, Dawsonville, and Mandy Darby, Ellijay; and aunt, Edith Heath, Marble Hill. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held Wednesday, Nov. 3 at 1 p.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Revs. Danny Ray Martin and Harold Bottoms officiating. iIntermentfollowed in Sunrise Memorial Gardens. The family did accept flowers or memorials may be made to Cagle Funeral Home to assist with the funeral expenses.

Lynell Huggins
Mrs. Lynell Huggins age 81 of Ellijay, died Monday Nov. 1, 2010.
Mrs. Huggins was born on June 15, 1928 in Carroll County, Ga, the daughter of the late Robert and Minnie Williamson. She worked as a beautician and was a member of Harvest Missionary Church.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald Huggins, Jasper; daughter and son-in-law, Rev. Bob and Susan H. Self, Jasper; son, Gary L. Huggins, Jasper; two grandchildren and six great- grandchildren; sister: Cloma Chandler, Carrollton; brothers: W.H. and Jessie Williamson, both of Florida, Norris Williamson, Ringgold, Garland Williamson, Canada, and Billy Williamson, Ohio.
The funeral service will be held Thursday Nov. 4 at 11 a.m. from the Bernhardt Funeral Home with Bro. Talmadge Chandler officiating. iIntermentwill follow in the Yukon Cemetery.

Rosie Burton
Mrs. Rosie Burton, age 63 of Jasper, passed away Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
Survivors include her sisters, Glenda Riding, Betty Hamrick, Gail Queen and Barbara Milton, all of Ellijay, Tracy Brown, Dallas, and Charlene Bunch, Fairmount; and brother, Eddie Chastain, Jasper.
The funeral service was held at 4 p.m. Sunday from the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with Dean Kanyen officiating. iIntermentfollowed in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

Edward Goodwin
Mr. Edward Lee Goodwin, age 68 of Ball Ground, passed away Monday, Oct. 25, 2010 at his home.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Cheri and Ralph Terry, Ball Ground, and Kathy Thacker and John Blackwell, White; son and daughter-in-law, David and Belinda Goodwin, Newnan; fiance, Denise Johnson, Ball Ground; sister, Patsy Goodwin Mason, Jasper; grandchildren, Jenifer Haley, Brittney Goodwin, Austin Hunt, Matthew Goodwin, Breanna and Dawson Thacker; and great-granddaughter, Isabella Lee Nawrocki.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Hopkins officiating. iIntermentfollowed in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery.

Gladys Brediger
Mrs. Gladys Brediger, age 84 of Talking Rock, passed away Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010 at Canton Nursing Center.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Charles Byers, Talking Rock; brothers, Earl Taylor, Conyers, Vernon Taylor, Florida, and Robert, Raymond and Barney Taylor, all of Jasper; grandchildren, Eric and Kelly Byers, Talking Rock, Carrie and Joel McKinney, Ball Ground, and Todd and Shae Byers, Jasper; and great-granddaughter, Hannah Byers, Talking Rock. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Monday from the Chapel of Roper Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Holbert officiating. iIntermentfollowed in Sunrise Memorial Gardens.

Adez Long
Mrs. Adez Marie Long, age 79 of Talking Rock, passed away Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital.
Mrs. Long was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Jesse and Josie Young; and her husband, Wade G. Long.
Survivors include her children, Mikki and John Miller, Ludville, Mike and Susan Arrendale and Terry and Pamela Long, all of Hinton; sister and brother-in-law, Ruth and Billy Moss, Canton; and sisters-in-law, Pauline Mullins, Jasper, and Rosie Young, Canton. Ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Monday from Friendship Baptist Church with the Revs. Buck Parker, Buddy Roper and Tim Hyde officiating. iIntermentfollowed in the church cemetery. Roper Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
