Ednerl Caylor
Mrs. Ednerl Perry Caylor, age 79 of the Hinton Community died Dec. 7, 2009 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital following a brief illness.
Born May 4, 1930 in Pickens County, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Freeman and Julia Ann Perry. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Caylor. Mrs. Caylor was a chicken and cattle farmer.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Richard Davis, Hinton; son, Clyde Davis, Hinton; grandchildren, Steven and Jessica Hamrick and Grady and Mahaley Russell, all of Jasper; and great-grandchildren, Jesilyn, Katilyn and Joseph Hamrick, all of Talking Rock. Several nieces, nephews and relatives also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 9 from Antioch Baptist Church with the Revs. Buddy Roper, Terry Dean and Harold Cantrell officiating. iIntermentfollowed in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were: David and Marcus Kinser, Larry and Gary Fountain, Larry Huskins, Bill Jones, Phillip Caylor and Kim Wilson. Roper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Linda Gatch
Mrs. Linda Godfrey Gatch, age 56 of Ball Ground, Ga., died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009 at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth Ga. following her battle with breast cancer.
Born March 17, 1953 in Clayton, Ga., Mrs. Gatch worked as ITT manager with Tolt Industries and was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Jasper, Ga.
Survivors include her husband, Ed Gatch, Ball Ground; daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Brad Pendley, Talking Rock; son, James Keith, Ellijay; grandchildren, Nicholas Blake Knowles, Cameron Gabrielle Knowles, Luke Reed Pendley, Kaitlyn Marie Keith and Kathryn Jace Keith; and parents, Jay and Dorothy Godfrey, Talking Rock. Aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives also survive.
The funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12 from Roper Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ed Taylor officiating. iIntermentfollowed in Hinton Community Cemetery.
Gladys Christopher
Gladys B. Christopher, age 83 of McDonough, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 15.
Ms. Christopher is survived by her brother, Bob (Jane) Boling, Suluta, N.C.; children, Emily Franks, Dallas, Ga., Steve (Pauline) Christopher Long, South Carolina, and Tom and Tim (Marianne) Christopher, McDonough Ga.. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Arrangements will be announced at a later time. The family requests donations be made to Meals on Wheels of Henry County or Sacred Journey Hospice (McDonough) in lieu of flowers.
Harold Flowers
Mr. Howard Craig Flowers, age 66 of Jasper, passed away Monday, Dec. 14, 2009 at Emory at Crawford Long Hospital, Mid Town, Atlanta.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Flowers, Jasper; sons, Chris and Scott Flowers, both of Tallahassee, Fl.; and daughter, Tammy Flowers. Merritt Island, Fl.
After visitation on Thursday, Dec. 17 at Cagle Funeral Home, Mr. Flowers was transported to Ivey Funeral Home in Bainbridge, Ga. The funeral service was held at noon on Saturday, Dec. 19 from Attapulgus Baptist Church in Attapulgus, Ga. south of Bainbridge. iIntermentfollowed in Attapulgus cemetery with the Rev. Bryan Henderson
Mr. Bryan Henderson, age 26 of Ellijay, passed away in Ellijay on Friday, Dec. 18, 2009.
Survivors include his mother, Linda Henderson, Ellijay; father and step-mother, Michael Henderson and Sue Mundy, Talking rock; grandmother, Sue Henderson, Talking Rock; brother Jason Henderson, Ellijay; and nephew, Tyler Henderson. Several aunts and uncles also survive.

Grady Gaddis
Mr. Grady Lee Joe Gaddis, age 43 of Ellijay, passed away at his residence Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009.
Survivors include his son, Chris Gaddis, Lumpkin County; daughter, Maggie Sue Gaddis, Ball Ground; brother, Tony Gaddis, Canton; and sisters, Susan Gaddis and Samantha Pinson, both of Ellijay.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 22 from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Reece officiating.
Vaughn Gilleland
Mr. Vaughn B. Gilleland, age 85 of Jasper, passed away at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Lois C. Gilleland, Jasper; son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Kim Gilleland, Jasper; daughter, Rosemary Gilleland, Jasper; and granddaughters, Emily Jones and Hannah Gilleland.

Tommy Smith
Mr. Tommy Lester Smith, age 55 of Talking Rock, Ga., passed away in Cedartown, Ga. on Monday, Dec. 21, 2009.
Survivors include his wife, Julie Smith, Talking Rock; son, Kevin Smith, Jasper; daughters and sons-in-law, Jessica and Jeff Carter, Talking Rock, and Kim Smith and Chris Fee, Rockmart; seven brothers and five sisters; and 12 grandchildren also survive. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Tressie Smith; and a son, Greg Smith.
The funeral service was held Wednesday, Dec. 23 at 12:30 p.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Jennifer Budrawich
Mrs. Jennifer West Budrawich, age 22 of Jasper, passed in Dawson County on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009.
Survivors include her grandparents, Eugene and Mary Christine Kent; mother, Debra Kilgore; sons, Alex Jameson West and Paul Joseph III and Carson Tyler Budrawich; and brother, Joshua West, Dawsonville. Several aunts, uncles and a host of friends and family also survive. Mrs. Budrawich was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Joseph Budrawich; great-grandparents, Berla Leora and Charles Edward Troglin, Sr.; and grandfather, Carl Franklin Rogers.
Mrs. Budrawich was cremated and a memorial service was held Saturday, Dec. 26 at 1 p.m. from Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Dawson County with the Revs. Greg Kowen and John Henderson officiating. Sam Nesbitt
Mr. Samuel (Sam) Nesbitt, age 75 of Canton and formerly of Jasper; passed away Tuesday morning, Dec. 22, 2009 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper.
Survivors include his daughter, Deana Collins; and brother, Jack Nesbitt, Albany, Ga. Two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service was held Thursday, Dec. 24 at 2 p.m. from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with the Revs. Harold Cantrell and Edwin Weaver officiating. iIntermentfollowed in Sunrise Memorial Gardens with local Chapter #47 DAV in charge of military graveside services. Jerri Ballew
Mrs. Jerri Ballew, age 71 of Jasper; passed at the residence of her son on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Hal and Debbi Carpenter, Jasper; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Betty Nicholson, Cohutta; grandchildren, Miles, Kyle and Erin Carpenter; and great-grandchild, Madison Carpenter.
The funeral service was held Thursday, Dec. 24 at noon from the Chapel of Cagle Funeral Home with Mr. Mark Mitton and the Rev. Ben Mock officiating. Entombment followed in Sunrise Memorial Gardens Chapel Mausoleum. Pallbearers were: Jason Johnson, Tyler Mitton, Keith Hicks, Steve Lively and Brannon and Chase Bell.
Marty Bridges
Marty Jerome Bridges, age 38 of Kennesaw, Ga., formerly of Jasper, Ga., passed away on Saturday, Dec. 19, 2009 in DeKalb County.
Born Nov. 9, 1971 in Pickens County, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, E.L. and Willie Mae Howell; and a brother, Randy Bridges, Jr. He attended Pickens High School in Jasper, graduating in 1990, and continued his education at Jacksonville State University in Alabama. While at Jacksonville State, he was a member of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity and the Jacksonville State football team. He received the Most Valuable Player Award for his performance in the game that won the Gamecocks the 1992 Division Championship.
Survivors include his mother, Louise Rankin, Kennesaw; father, Randy Bridges, Kennesaw; paternal grandparents, Ben and Catherine Bridges, Jasper; sister, Melinda and Cecilia Bridges, both of Kennesaw; brothers, Troy Bridges, Kennesaw, and Isaac Bridges, Nelson, Ga.; and children, Stefan, Roderick Martel and Mateo. Four nieces, several aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives also survive.

John Southerland
Mr. John W. Southerland, age 89 of Jasper, Ga., passed away Monday, Dec. 21, 2009 at Piedmont Mountainside Hospital in Jasper following a period of declining health.
Born July 22, 1920 in Gordon County. Ga., he was the son of the late Gordon Southerland. He had worked as a mechanic, doing small engine repair.
Survivors include his wife, Grace Southerland, Ball Ground; daughters, Dorothy Pendley, Ball Ground, and Betty Angel, Waleska, Ga.; sons, Junior, Troy, Paul, Steve, Wayne and Willie Southerland, all of Jasper, and David Southerland, Ranger, Ga.; brothers, Gene and Marshall Southerland, both of Ellijay. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great -grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 23 from Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with the Revs. Wallace Parks, Randall Chastain and Jerry Banks officiating. iIntermentfollowed in the church cemetery. Paul Moss
Mr. Paul Lamar Moss, age 65 of Canton, Ga., passed away Monday, Dec. 21. 2009 at Northside Hospital-Cherokee in Canton following a period of declining health.
Born Nov. 28. 1944 in Pickens County, Ga., he was the son of the late E.J. and Hattie Moss. Mr. Moss was a painter by trade.
Survivors include his son, David Moss, Villa Rica, Ga.; grandchildren, Nathan Moss and Joe Moss, both of Canton, and Hayden Banks, Hiram, Ga.; sisters, Ruth Poole and Minnie Lee Raines, both of Jasper; and brothers, Charles Moss, Winder, Ga., and James Moss, Dallas, Ga.
At his request, Mr. Moss was cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Roper Funeral Home of Jasper was in charge of arrangements.
Curtis Baumann
Mr. Curtis D. Baumann, age 61 of Jasper, Ga., died Saturday, Nov. 28, 2009 at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Ga. following a brief illness.
Born June 7, 1948 in Oak Ridge, Tn., he was the son of the late Carl Daniel and Elva Sherman Baumann. Mr. Baumann had served in the US Army Reserves and was project manager for William Marble and Tile. He was Presbyterian and attended New Lebanon Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Baumann, Jasper; step-sons, Ford Pearce, Norcross, Ga., and Brad Pearce, Atlanta, Ga.; brother and sister-in-law, Larry and Maryellen Baumann, Bloomington, Mn.; and niece, Laura Baumann, Sacramento, Ca.
The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2009 at New Lebanon Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Ben Laughlin and Julian Brackman officiating. A reception followed the service. iIntermentfollowed the reception at Lake Forest Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Ford and Brad Pearce, Ronnie and Jon Culbreth, Mark Sherer, Larry Baumann and George Summers. Honorary pallbearers were: Chad Bigony, Scott Frantz, Mike Harris, Sam Kent, Frank Lisle, Bob Reed, Jim Wiltse and Al Schneider.
