Services for Lee Anna Jones Taylor of McRae were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 24 at A.L. Spaulding Funeral Home Chapel with interment in the Bayview New York Bay Cemetery of Jersey City, N.J.
The Rev. Carlee Stafford officiated.
Taylor, 83, died Friday, March 19, 2004. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Florence Jones and was the widow of Robert Taylor. She was a native of Telfair County.
Survivors include her daughter-in-law, Helen Kotsiumbas of New York City, N.Y.; uncle, Ossie Williams of New Jersey; one grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

Edna Posey Ellington
Services for Edna Posey Ellington of Lilburn were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 17 at the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Home with interment in Zion Hope Cemetery.
The Dr. John Casoria, the Rev. Roger Bailey and the Rev. Don Howell officiated.
Ellington, 88, died Saturday, March 13, 2004. She was the daughter of the late John Arthur Posey and Mary Ida Gladin Posey and was the widow of Hardy Eugene “Gene” Ellington. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her daughter, Jo Stubblefield of Lilburn; brothers, Earlie E. Posey and James Posey, both of Cordele and Frankie Posey of Arabi; sisters, Mertie Pettis of Cordele and Geneva Gregory of Forest Park; three grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Emmett Johnson
Services for Emmett Johnson of Dothan, Ala., will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 27 at the McRae United Methodist Church with interment in the church cemetery. A reception will follow the funeral services in the fellowship hall of the McRae United Methodist Church.
The Dr. Bob Williams will officiate.
Johnson, 82, died Monday, March 22, 2004. He was the son of the late Wiley Emmett Judson Johnson and Carrie Etta Oliver Johnson and was married to Dolores Johnson of Dothan, Ala.
He was a native of Houston County and a former resident of McRae. He had lived in Dothan, Ala. for 15 years, moving there from Orlando, Fla. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran of WWII, a retired Federal Industrial Specialist with the Department of the Navy. He was a member of the McRae United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his sons, Robert E. Johnson of Alexandria, Va. and Troy Johnson of Columbus; daughters, Linda M. Montgomery of Swarthmore, Pa. and Edith A. Olson of Springfield, Va.; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mary Loretta Worthing Kinsey
Services for Mary Loretta Worthing Kinsey of Alamo were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 20 at Alamo Chapel Baptist Church in Alamo with interment at Erick’s Cemetery of Wheeler County.
The Rev. Keith Geter officiated.
Kinsey, 62, died Monday, March 15, 2004. She was the daughter of Ida Mae Worthing of Alamo and the late Arthur and Janie Jones Worthing. She was a native of Wheeler County.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her children, Curlie M. Worthing of McRae, Kenneth Kinsey, Michael Kinsey and Eric Kinsey, all of Alamo and Orlando Kinsey of Eastman; stepchildren, Cecil Kinsey Jr. of Charleston, S.C. and Elston Kinsey of Pennsylvania; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

H.M. Swinson
Services for H.M. Swinson of Milan were held at 3 p.m. Monday, March 22 at Bethel United Methodist Church with interment in the church cemetery.

H.M. Swinson, 77, died Friday, March 19, 2004. He was the son of the late Henry and Fonnie Stanley Swinson and was the widower of Martha Lue Bloodworth Swinson.
He was a native of Telfair County, where he lived most of his life. He was a farmer, a former Telfair County tax appraiser and was retired from the United States Air Force with 20 years of experience.
Survivors include his children, Glendia Edes of Kathleen, Donny Swinson of Washington, Karen Swain of McRae and Anita Humphrey of Stafford, Va.; brothers, Doc Swinson of Toulougne, France, Jim Swinson of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla., Joe E. Swinson of Rappahannock, Va. and Stanley Swinson of Ft. Worth, Texas; sister, Merrell S. Rogers of Warner Robins; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Wilbert “Bill” McCrimmon
Services for Wilbert “Bill” McCrimmon of McRae were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 6 at Rockwell CME Church in McRae with interment in the church cemetery.

McCrimmon, 57, died Monday, March 1, 2004. He was the son of Willie McCrimmon and Bessie McCrimmon of McRae.
He was a native of Telfair County and was retired from Colonial Bread Company of Atlanta.
In addition to his parents, survivors include his daughters, Meisha McCrimmon of New York, Takelia McCrimmon of Atlanta; brothers, Tommie Lee McCrimmon of Cocoa, Fla., Robert McCrimmon of New York City, Johnny B. McCrimmon, J. C. McCrimmon and Freddie McCrimmon, all of McRae, Morris McCrimmon, Monroe McCrimmon and Eddie McCrimmon, all of Atlanta; sisters, Nonie Allen of Brooklyn, N.Y., Rose Wooten of Atlanta, Bessie L. McCrimmon, Mamie Zanders Edwards, both of McRae and eight grandchildren.

Henry Randolph McMillian Sr.
Services for Henry Randolph McMillian Sr. of Dublin were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 13 at St. James CME in Lumber City with interment in the Pine Acres Cemetery in McRae.
The Rev. Valdo Wilcox officiated.
McMillian, 58, died Sunday, March 7, 2004. He was the son of the late Rev. Randolph R. McMillian and Flora Andrews McMillian and was married to Sharolyn L. McMillian of Dublin. He was preceded in death by his son, Henry “Randy” McMillian Jr.
He was a native of Telfair County, but had been residing in Dublin. He attended Paine College and served in the U.S. Army from which he retired.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his children, Cornelia Pitts and Eric McMillian, both of Atlanta; two sisters; one brother and three grandchildren.

Rita Ryals
A private service for Rita Ryals of Lumber City will be held.
Ryals, 98, died Wednesday, March 10, 2004. She was the daughter of the late John and Naomi Pope and widow of Horace V. Ryals.
She was a native of Wheeler County and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her sister, Quinelle Pope McRae of Douglas; daughter-in-laws, Sandra Pope and Shirley Pope; several nieces and nephews.

Mary Alice Smith
Services for Mary Alice Smith of Jacksonville were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21 at New Salem Baptist Church in Jacksonville with interment in the Wilcox Cemetery in Jacksonville.

Smith, 57, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2004. She was the daughter of the late Charlie Van and Mattie Swain and was the widow of Austin Smith.
She was a native of Telfair County and a faithful member of Salem Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Gail Wadley of Milan, Georgina Smith and Dychandra Smith, both of Jacksonville; brothers, Charlie J. Swain and Joseph Swain; sisters, Iula McQueen, Carrie Collins, Shirley Swain, Grace Wilcox and Ethel Landers; and eight grandchildren.

Sammy J. Thompson
Services for Sammy J. Thompson of McRae were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 11 in the chapel of Lowe’s Funeral Home with interment later at Tecumseh Cemetery in Tecumseh, Okla.
The Rev. Howard Hart officiated.
Thompson, 43, died Monday, March 8, 2004. He was the son of George Thompson and Jane Tucker LaCroix and was married to Gail Towns Thompson of McRae.
A native of Pottawatomie County, Okla., he served his country in the United States Air Force and was a construction worker.
In addition to his parents, and his wife, survivors include his stepchildren, Jamie and Steve Johns, both of McRae; stepfather, Joe LaCroix of Oklahoma; sisters, Tommie Smith and Angie Ragsdale, both of Oklahoma and four grandchildren.
Lowe’s Funeral Home of Helena was in charge of local arrangements.
