Janette Oden Greene
Mrs. Janette Oden Greene of Big Canoe, Georgia passed away January 3, 2008. Born to Bennet and Opal Kirkpatrick Oden on September 7, 1924, Mrs. Greene resided in Little Rock and Conway, Arkansas until moving to Georgia in 2003.
After graduating from Little Rock High School, Mrs. Greene received her degree as a Registered Nurse from the Baptist Hospital Nursing School and attended the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
Mrs. Greene served as Director of Nursing at Conway Memorial Hospital and as Staff Nurse at Kimberly Clark.
Preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charles B. Greene and her brothers, Odell and Jim Oden, she is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Lois (Pinky) and Jim Francis of Big Canoe, GA., Vicki and Jim Frazier of Atlanta, GA. and Robin and Roger Lankford of Plano, TX., her granddaughter, Ashley Alderman and grandson, Brian Owens, her sisters and brothers-in-law, Eloise and Burt Brumley of Tyler, TX. and Billye Jo and Luther Gill of Shreveport, LA.
After cremation, her remains will be buried with those of her husband at the National cemetery in Dallas Fort Worth, TX.

Melna June Gattis
Melna June Gattis, 74, died Monday, August 17, 2009, with her husband, son, and daughter by her bedside in her home in Cumming, Georgia. Originally from Lafayette Springs, Mississippi, June was raised in Panama City, Florida and lived in the Atlanta area since 1957.
June was born November 26, 1934, to Glenn Ray Whitehead and Onice Dale Denton. Her father worked as a technician at the local paper mill and her mother worked at Lerner’s women’s department store. June is preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Julia Hildebrand, and her brother Denny Whitehead.
June married
her husband, Doug, in March 1954 and cherished each of the fifty-five years they shared together. A follower of Christ, June attended Grace Chapel Church of Christ for the past two years, and North Atlanta Church of Christ for the twenty-five years prior. June worked faithfully in the Anchor Ministry at North Atlanta, a ministry dedicated to providing spiritual support and encouragement to recovering alcohol and drug addicts. She also worked with the Jail Ministry at Grace Chapel, sharing the light and hope Jesus brought to her life, and was a faithful supporter of Christian Relief Fund and Feed the Children.
Family was the highlight of June’s life, and she treasured time with her four grandchildren, and took such pride in their accomplishments. June loved to travel and was always planning her and Doug’s next trip. She’s now embarked on the greatest journey of all.
June is survived by her husband, Douglas W. Gattis, Sr.; her son, Douglas W. Gattis, Jr., his wife Jackie Denard Gattis, and their sons Douglas Wayne Gattis, III and Dillon James Gattis; her daughter Tamera Gattis Alexander, and her husband Joe F. Alexander, and their daughter Kelsey Lynn Alexander, and son Joseph Kurt Alexander.
Byars Funeral Home (155 Professional Park Drive, Cumming, GA) is handling the funeral arrangements and visitation hours will be Wednesday, August 19, 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m., and again from 6:00p.m. – 9:00p.m. The funeral will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at the North Atlanta Church of Christ (5676 Roberts Drive, Atlanta, GA).

Mr. Clifford A. Garner, age 79 of Cumming passed away in Taylorsville, North Carolina on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009.
Survivors include his wife, Claudia Garner of Cumming, sons, Tommy Garner of Murphy, NC, Tracy Garner of Cumming, David Garner of Dawsonville, Gene Garner of Cumming, Jerry Garner of Dawsonville; daughters, Betty Bailey of Dawsonville, Judy Shirley of Cumming and Geneva Shirley of Suwanee. Twelve grandchildren and Twenty-three great-grandchildren also survived.
Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday March 6th at Lower Shady Grove Church with iIntermentin the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 5, 2009 from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

William W. Funk of Sugar Hill, Georgia, a loving husband and father, 84 years old, passed away on Wednesday, September 23, 2009, at Northside Hospital in Cumming, Georgia.
Mr. Funk was predeceased by his wife of 61 years Mary Louise Funk, his parents William and Marion Funk, and his son Bill Funk.
Mr. Funk is survived by his children Chris (Jim) Haralson of Colbert, GA., John Funk of Sugar Hill, GA., Steve (Denise) Funk of Bartlett, IL., Donald (Denise) Funk of Decatur, GA. and Robert (Pavan) Funk of Cumming, GA. He is also survived by his grandchildren Michael Haralson of Colbert, GA., Bill Funk of Orlando, FL., Daniel Funk of Wheaton, IL., Jennifer Funk of Wheaton, IL., and Ansleigh Funk of Cumming, GA.
The family held a celebration of his life and family memorial service on September 24, 2009. The Rev. Jim Haralson officiated.

Mr. Edward Lonnie Ford, age 58 of Loganville passed away Friday, April 10, 2009.
Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 14th at Hope Community Fellowship Church, 4037 Bailey Circle, Loganville with Pastor Brent Ross officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday evening April 13th from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. iIntermentwill be at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery, Bethany Church Road, South of 78 in Snellville, Ga.
Mr. Ford was a member of the Sons of the Confederate and The Masons Lodge of Tucker, Georgia. He was also an Eagle Scout and an active member of Hope Community Fellowship Church. Mr. Ford was very generous with contributions to charitable organizations and enjoyed antique cars, military War Planes and researching civil war battle sites.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ford of Loganville; daughter and son-in-law, Brittany and Brian Gordon of Loganville; brother, Wayne Ford of Lilburn, two grandsons, Taylor and Bailey Gordon. Also surviving are his two best friends Melissa Perry of Lawrenceville and Andy Jaynes of Gainesville.

John Fetcho, Jr.
John Fetcho, Jr. of Cumming, GA. passed away at 8:17 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at Embracing Hospice in Cumming, GA.
He was born February 11, 1930 in Minneapolis, Minnesota to John J. Fetcho and Anna Kanasky. He married
Donna Scherff on February 24, 1956 in Peoria, IL.
John was in the banking and savings and loan business in Peoria, IL for 35 years. Retiring in 1989, he and his wife moved to Lake Mary, FL. Three years ago they moved to Cumming, GA to be near family.
In addition to his devoted wife of 53 years, also surviving are his children John A. Fetcho of Palatine, IL. and daughter Sue LeQuier of Alpharetta, GA; sister Sylvia (“Toots”) Corrie of Peoria, IL; grandchildren Emily Fetcho of Carmel, IN., Ryan LeQuier and Lindsey LeQuier, of Alpharetta, GA; and daughter-in-law Sandra Fetcho of Palatine, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son Paul M. Fetcho, sister Dorothy Sherratt, and brother George Fetcho.
John was a member of Rivercliff Lutheran Church in Atlanta, GA where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, November, 14, 2009 at 4:00 p.m.
