Nathan Ray Watkins
Mr. Nathan Ray Watkins, age 90 of Cumming, Georgia passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at his residence. Preceding Mr. Watkins in death was his wife of 67 years Betty Watkins in 2007.
Survivors include sons, Frank Watkins and Bob Watkins; daughters, Jo Prince and Jean Ridgeway. Six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren also survived.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday December 22nd at Byars Funeral Home in Cumming with Rev. Brad Walter and Rev. Mike Schmid officiating. iIntermentwill follow at the Georgia National cemetery in Canton, Georgia.

Jimmy Edward Ward
Jimmy Edward Ward, 72, passed away on November 12th after losing his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family and friends at his home in Cumming, Georgia.
Jim was born December 6, 1936. His childhood and most of his adult life was spent in Alamance and Burlington, North Carolina. Jim was a graduate of E.M. Holt School and Elon University.
Jim was an active member of the Boy Scouts, received the honor of Eagle Scout and later became an Assistant Scout Master. He was an active member of Alamance Lutheran Church for many years.
Following a 33 year career at AT&T; and Verizon, Jim retired in 1989. While employed with AT&T; her served on the Board of Directors of Truilant Credit Union. He later became a Real Estate Broker in North Carolina and Georgia.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Sharpe Ward of Cumming; his daughter Teresa Ward of St. Petersburg, Florida; his son Tim Ward and wife Equata, two granddaughters, Bailee and Peyton of Atlanta, Georgia.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 15 in Cumming, Georgia at Byars Funeral Home on 155 Professional Park Drive from noon until 2:00 pm.
Visitation in Burlington, North Carolina, will be held Tuesday, November 17 at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home on 306 Glenwood Avenue from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be Wednesday, November 18 at 11:00 am at Alamance Lutheran Church with burial in Alamance Memorial Park.
He will be missed greatly by his family and everyone who knew him.

Services are scheduled for 1:00 Monday at H.A. Brown Memorial United Methodist Church for Natasha A. Walton, 24, of Wiggins, who died December 21, 2009 at her residence in Atlanta, GA. iIntermentwill be in Welcome Hill Cemetery.
Ms. Walton was a 2003 graduate of Stone High School and a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi where she received a degree in Marketing Management and Fashion Merchandise. She was employed with Bonner Bros. of Atlanta as the Trade-Show Events Manager for Upscale Magazine.
Survivors include her parents, Vikki and R.L. Pough of Wiggins; father, Nathaniel Walton of California; brothers Damien Silvera, R.L. Pough, Jr., Alvin Pough and Brandon Walton; Grandparents, Velma and Nathaniel Walton, Sr. of Los Angeles, CA and grandfather, Joseph "Mooney" Watts of Los Angeles, CA, and godmother, Carmen Kelley.

Gregory F. Vinci, age 94 of Cumming, Georgia passed away Sunday, October 4, 2009. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Coletti Vinci.
Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Gregory G. and Maria Vinci of Cumming, GA.; granddaughter, Lisa M. Zang of Cumming, GA. and grandson, Gregory G, Vinci Jr. of Norfolk VA.

John Ronald Tremblay, age 75 of Cumming passed away Wednesday, August 6th, 2008 at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Georgia.

Jackie Lewis Teat, Sr.
Jackie Lewis Teat, Sr. of Cumming, GA died on September 17, 2008 at his home surrounded by his family. He was 68 years old and lost his courageous battle with cancer. Jack Teat was born in Athens, GA in 1940, to the late John William Teat and Louie Dell Nunnally Teat. They later moved to Charlotte, NC where Jack called his home along with his late brother, Johnny Bruce Teat.
Jack was an avid sports fan and loved coaching youth football. He started the most successful youth football program in 1968 -CYAC. CYAC won numerous state championships under his coaching. Jack was also an outstanding baseball player during the 1960's when he played in the minor leagues and semi-pros. Jack enjoyed many sports including tennis, golfing and boating.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Dale Cash Teat, 3 sons. Jack, Jr. and his wife, Susan, 3 grandchildren, Rachel, Will and John Teat. Richard Teat and his wife, Sherry, 6 grandchildren, Alyssa, Cory and Tina Teat, Stephanie, Jennifer and Catherine Marshall. Mark Teat and his wife, Kimmer, 2 grandchildren, Brittany and Katie Teat.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening at 7 p.m. at Byars Funeral Home in Cumming, GA with a memorial Service to follow at 7:30 p.m. Jack Teat will be cremated. The family request donations to The American Cancer Society in lieu of flowers.
William Lenard Swofford
William Lenard Swofford age 36 of Dawsonville passed away Wednesday November 11, 2009. Funeral services will be 3 PM Sunday November 15th at Lower Shady Grove Baptist Church. iIntermentwill follow in the church cemetery. Survivors Include: Wife Stacy Swofford of Dawsonville, 2 Sons B. J. and Jason Swofford both of Dawsonville, Mother Wanda Swofford of Dawsonville, 2 Brothers Andy Swofford and Raymond Swofford and his Wife Shawn all of Dawsonville, Sister Kimberly & Ben Nix of Dahlonega, as well as several nieces and nephews. James H. Sutton
James H. Sutton, age 64 of Alpharetta, Georgia passed away Thursday, July 30, 2009 after a short battle with cancer. He served in the U.S Army where he was a National Defense Service Sharp Shooter. James was a Fulton County Corrections officer and a member of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Reserves. He was also a member of the Waffle House 1507 Coffee Club. He was a devoted Husband, Father and Grandfather.
Mr. Sutton is survived by his wife, Mary E. Sutton; children, Rene Gardner, George (Leavon) Galbreath, Susan I. Brooks, Gail (Jim) Olson, Wayne (Joann) Morgan, Frank Morgan; sisters, Mary Melton and Nell (Ron) Burke. 18 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren. Many sisters and brother-in-laws, nieces and nephew also survive. In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions be made to The American Cancer Society.

Effie Gochee Spencer
Effie Gochee Spencer died Monday, August 24, 2009. She retired from CDC in 1982. Born in Rome, New York, she had lived in Georgia since 1965.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Spencer, an aunt and cousins in Rome, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in Florida, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Virginia and Alberta, Canada.
A Memorial Service will be on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Alpharetta, Georgia.

Mr. James “Jimmy” Shelton, age 55 of Cumming went to meet the Lord on September 1st, 2009. Donalda Lee Shanholtz, age 82, of Atlanta, Georgia passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2009.
She was born November 12, 1926 in Winchester, VA; the daughter of John William and Margaret Stover Coontz. She was retired as a clerk with Grocery Wholesalers. She was a member of Montague Ave. United Methodist Church and a graduate of John Handley High School.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy Shanholtz of Atlanta, GA; a brother, Robert A. Coontz of Winchester; one granddaughter, Wendy Granot of Atlanta, GA and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, June 13, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home Chapel in Winchester with Rev. Anthony Wadsworth officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery.

Bernadette Ruggiero, 74, of Roswell, GA, died Monday, October 6, 2008 at the NE Atlanta Health & Rehab in Atlanta, GA.
A retired teacher, she taught at Emerson School in Teaneck, NJ
Born June 17, 1934, in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Madeline (Larner) Shea.
She is survived by her son, Charles Ruggiero of Roswell, GA, and several nieces & nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:00 AM on Friday, Oct. 10th, at St. Christopher's Church, 7423 S. Broadway, Red Hook, NY. The Rev. Xavier Santiago will officiate. Burial will be at St. Sylvia's Cemetery, Tivoli, NY.
