Nancy Jane Kerr
Nancy Jane Kerr, age 78 passed away at Embracing Hospice on Saturday, March 7th, 2009. Nancy retired from St. Joseph Hospital as a medical transcriptionist after 20 years of loyal service. In her earlier years she worked in Washington D.C. in the Naval Department for Admiral Byrd.
Survivors include her son, Rob & Jahna Kerr of Roswell, GA; daughter, Valerie & Kim Mitchell of Oakwood, GA; brother, Rider & Robin Hawkins of Pontiac, Michigan. Four grandchildren and three great grandchildren also survived.
A Memorial Service will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, March 9th, 2009 at Byars Funeral Home with Rev. Stacy Thomas officiating.

Eleanor Joyce Jenkins
Eleanor Joyce Jenkins, age 69 of Ball Ground, Georgia passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Chestnut Ridge Nursing Home.
She was survived by her husband of 53 years, Charles Jenkins of Ball Ground, Ga.; son, Charles Ray Jenkins of Dawsonville, Ga.; daughters, Rita Adams and Renee Baugh of Ball Ground, Ga.; brothers, Hugh Little of Doraville, Ga. and Leon Little of Conley, Ga.; sisters, Catherine Roundtree of Boston, Ga., Betty Jean Lee of College Park, Ga. and Fay Ayers of Mableton, Ga. Seven grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren also survived.
Funeral services will be Monday, January 12, 2009 at War Hill Christian Fellowship Church at 3 p.m. The body will lie in state from 2:30 till service time. iIntermentwill follow at Sawnee View Gardens in Cumming, Georgia. The family will receive friends at Byars Funeral Home on Sunday from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Oscar Ismael, age 23 of Marietta, passed away October 15th, 2009. Mr. Ismael will be interred in Cuba at Cementerio Sante Efigenia on October 28th, 2009.

Jane T. Ishol
Ellen Jane Tisdale Ishol of Cumming, Georgia, died December 16, 2008. She was 77.
Mrs. Ishol was born in Gainesville, Florida, where she spent much of her life. She often spoke fondly of her P.K Yonge Laboratory School memories, and received a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Florida in 1953. She was a teacher as well as a Navy wife and homemaker. Jane was known for her incredible passion for cooking.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dr. William B. Tisdale and Ruth Blakely Tisdale, her sister Elizabeth Anne Tisdale DeBusk, and her brother Dr. William Allan Tisdale.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Lyle M. Ishol of Cumming, Georgia, two daughters, Susan Ishol Young of Cumming, Georgia and Karen Ishol Jones of Starke, Florida and six grandchildren.
In keeping with her wishes, a springtime life celebration is planned for Saturday, April 11 at 10:30 a.m. in the Baughman Center Chapel, 982 Museum Road, University of Florida Campus.

Refugio Jesusita Hernandez
Refugio Jesusita Hernandez, age 87 of Dawsonville, GA formally of Montezuma, Ga. passed away Thursday morning, August 20, 2009.
A funeral mass was held Saturday, Aug. 22 at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 714 North Dooly Street in Montezuma with Father Bob Cushing and Father Lawrence Lucree officiating. iIntermentfollowed in Bertha Dozier Memorial Park cemetery in Montezuma.
She was born in Santa Barbara, Ca. and raised in Mexico as a small child. She was married
to the late Manuel Hernandez. They were the first Hispanic family to arrive in Montezuma, Ga. Her life was devoted to her children and grandchildren. She was a very spiritual person and a founder of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Montezuma. She also contributed a lot to her church. A very devoted Roman Catholic, she was also devoted to her gardening, traveling with her children, knitting and crocheting. Her memory will be forever treasured.
She is survived by her children, Silveria Herrera Ortiz, Javier Hernandez, Guadalupe Hernandez Sigman, Hilda Hernandez Jackson, Jaime Hernandez and three grandchildren, Robert Hernandez, Michael Hernandez and Gretchen Elizabeth Sigman; two son-in-laws, Dr. Ronnie Jackson and William Thomas Sigman, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Claudia Velasquez; Caretaker, Edna Gail Cooper.

Samuel “Sam” Gordon
Samuel “Sam” Gordon, age 68 of Lawrenceville, Georgia passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at Gwinnett Medical Center.
Sam was actively involved in Boy Scouts serving as Scoutmaster for Troop 99 for many years. He was a dedicated member of Bethesda United Methodist Church and loved working with the youth and children’s group and taught Sunday school for years. He was active in the United Methodist Men. Sam was also active in the Navy and was a Free Mason. Above all he was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Nothing gave him greater joy in life than spending time with his family and being Granddaddy (G-Daddy). He loved the Lord, his family and friends.
Survivors include wife, Martha Gordon of Lawrenceville; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Brittany Gordon of Loganville; daughter, Beth Gordon of Lawrenceville; sisters, Elvie Cox of Arcadia, FL. and Efelda (Lylse) Ellis of Tampa, FL. Three grandchildren, Cody, Taylor and Bailey also survived.
The family will receive friends Friday, November 7, 2008 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday, November 8, 2008 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. in the chapel at Bethesda United Methodist Church. The Funeral service will be in the sanctuary at Bethesda United Methodist Church at 11 a.m.
