Anne Elizabeth Sullivan of Atlanta passed away Monday, January 19th, 2009. Anne was a member of St. Ann Parrish in Marietta and a graduate of St. Pius X High School in Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo & Mary Sullivan; brother, Steve Sullivan and sister, Peggy Higgins.
Survivors include sister, Mary Agnes Sullivan of St. Catherine, Kentucky; brother, Leo Sullivan of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; brother and sister-in-law, Frank & Mercedes Sullivan of Cumming, Georgia; sister-in-law, Dottie Sullivan of Alabaster, Alabama.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Sunday, January 25th at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 24th at her residence 3216 Hickory Bluff Drive Marietta, Georgia 30062 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m.

Kathryn J. Strickland, age 67 of Cumming, Georgia passed away Sunday, August 9, 2009.

Dorothy “Dot” Staniewicz age 81 passed away Thursday November 12, 2009. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2 PM Tuesday November 17th at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Flowery Branch.
The family will receive friends from 6 PM until 9 PM on Monday November 16th at Byars Funeral Home in Cumming, Georgia.
Mrs. Staniewicz was preceded in death by her Husband Frank Staniewicz in 1995. Survivors Include: 3 Sons Marty Staniewicz of Doraville, Jim & Sherryl Staniewicz of Cumming, Greg & Helen Staniewicz of Sugar Hill, Brother Richard & Audrey Michel of Baltimore, MD, Sister Catherine & Frank Charvat of Baltimore, MD. 6 Grandchildren Michael, Ashley, Natalie, Adam, Lauren and Nicholas Staniewicz. Dot was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed by all her knew her.

Nancy Stregowski, age 59, of Cumming passed away Tuesday, July 29th, 2008 at her residence. She was a born again Christian, her faith meant so much to her as well as being a caregiver to others which she dedicated her life to.
Survivors include her father Walter B. Kenny of Scotch Plains, NJ; son, Robert Stregowski of Atlanta, Two daughters, Jennifer and Sharon Stregowski both of Atlanta; Three brothers, Mark, Patrick and Joe Kenny; Four sisters, Mary Kenny, Joan Berkstresser, Teresa Kenny and Anne Simpson.
A Memorial Service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, August 2nd, at Byars Funeral Home.

James Stanley Stachura
James Stanley Stachura, age 57 of Alpharetta, Georgia passed away Friday, November 20, 2009. He is preceded in death by his father, Howard Joseph Stachura. James lived his childhood in Pekin, Illinois and graduated High School from Spaulding Institute Peoria Illinois in 1970 and attended the University of Illinois 1970-1974. He received a Bachelor's Degree from Aurora College in 1975 and worked for the Kane County Sheriff's Dept as a Deputy. Later he received Master's in Criminology from Sam Houston State University May 1979. In the early 1980's James was a teacher's assistant at several college institutions while working on his doctorate degree. (Central Michigan University in Mt Pleasant, Mi.; Texas Tech University in Lubbock, TX.; Texas A& M University in College Station, TX and Florida State University in Tallahassee Fl.) Later worked as a Market Research Analyst for the Florida Credit Union League in Tallahassee Florida for 11 yrs. Then moved to the Atlanta area and worked for Aelera Corp. as a marketing/research analyst.
Survivors include his wife, Patty and step-children, Robbie and Allison; mother, Sidney Yvonne Parrott Martin; sister, Judy Sheppard of Peoria Illinois; sister, Jean Stachura of Nashville TN.; brother, Joe Stachura & wife Micki of Morton Illinois; sister, Jan Fitzgerald & husband Walter of The Woodlands Texas. Several Nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews also survived.
Services were private and in lieu of flowers making a donation in Jim's name to a charity of your choice is appreciated by the family.

Mr. Jesse Smallwood, age 72 of Arcade, Georgia passed away at his residence on Saturday, September 6th, 2008. He was preceded in death by a son in 1996 Howard Smallwood.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Smallwood of Arcade; 2 sons, Johnny and Frank Smallwood both of Jefferson, Ga.; 3 daughters, Sandy Smallwood and Lynn Bryant both of Jefferson, Martha Meak of Banks County, Ga.; sister, Sue Reece of Alabama. 17 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren also survived.
Funeral services will be Sunday, September 7th at 3 p.m. at the First Pentecostal Oneness Church of Arcade with the body to lie in state from 2 p.m. until service time. iIntermentwill be in the church cemetery.

Brian Clark Skelton
Celebration of Life for Brian Clark Skelton of Canton, GA will be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2009 at 4:00 at Cherokee Baptist Church on Hickory Flat Hwy. in Woodstock, GA. Pastors Kevin Edmunds and Richard Holden will officiate the service.
Mr. Skelton is survived by his wife, Jane, his daughter Katie Henley and son-in-law Jeff Henley of Canton, his son Brent Skelton of Nashville, TN and his fiancée Laura Cockrell of Memphis, TN, brothers Joe Skelton of Canton and Stuart Skelton of Lawrenceville, and sister Beth Bryan of Rome, GA, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Carol and Nick Hobbs of Woodstock, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. A committed Christian, Mr. Skelton faithfully served in his church. After bravely fighting ALS, he went home to be with his Lord in the early hours of November 2, 2009. The family will receive friends following the service in the Fellowship Hall of the church. The family suggests memorial donations to Embracing Hospice in Cumming or to his beloved church.

Michael Dean Shedd age 62 of Conyers passed away Sunday January 20, 2008.
Donna Rebecca Shaw
Donna Rebecca Shaw, age 48, of Dawsonville, passed away on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at Northside Hospital, Cumming, after a very difficult two and a half year battle with breast and bone cancer.
She was born on December 5, 1960 and was graduated from Lakeside High School in Atlanta in 1979. She played church softball and lettered in Basketball and Track and Field at Lakeside. She spent her career as an independent contractor and project manager with several construction companies in the Atlanta and Gainesville areas, after starting out in new construction cleanup and progressed to construction management. She loved her garden and her labs. Every dog within a 100 mile radius knew that if they needed anything to go to Donna’s home and she would meet their every need. She left behind “Rudy”, “Riley” and “Jack” and one cat called “Token”.
She is survived by the love of her life of 24 years, Steve Warren of Mableton; her paternal grandmother, Dorothy Shaw of Rome; her parents, Charles T. and Eva L. (Sam) Shaw of Atlanta; her sister, Dena Shaw Fleming (Daryl Fleming) of Lilburn; a nephew, Quentin Charles Fleming of Lilburn; Kenneth and John Peterson, foster brothers from her childhood, of Columbus; her Aunt Joanne and Uncle Max Shaw of Rome; cousins Karen and Susan Shaw of Oregon; her Aunt T-Bug (Ramona) Helms; cousins Darlene, Greg, Tommy and Cathy, and their children, all of Rome; her Aunt Fran and Uncle Tommy Barber of Fayetteville; her cousins Susan Barber and family of Palmetto and Tom Barber and family of Fayetteville; and Uncle Bill Lee of Fairburn.

Johnny Alan Sewell, age 51 of Cumming, Georgia passed away Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Roper Sewell and sister, Sheri Sewell.
Survivors include father, Frank Sewell of Cumming; sons, Jon Iverson and Krisstifer Sewell, both of Dahlonega; daughters, Samantha and Alexandria Sewell, both of Canton; brothers, Mike Sewell of Memphis, TN., Tony Sewell, Tim Sewell and Travis Sewell all of Cumming. Numerous Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews also survived.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2009 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. iIntermentwill be in the church cemetery following the service. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 24, 2009 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Byars Funeral Home.
