Marilyn Windsor Long, age 75 of Lawrenceville, Georgia passed away Thursday, March 19, 2009 at Embracing Hospice in Cumming, Georgia.
Mrs. Long is survived by her three sons, Kenneth Long of Lawrenceville, Ga.; Gary Long of Jasper, Ga.; Scott Long of Maysville, Ga.; brother, Harvey Windsor, Jr. of Young Harris. Five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survived.

Voncile Bennett Ledford age 80 lifelong resident of Forsyth County passed away Tuesday January 22, 2008. Funeral Services were 11 AM Wednesday January 23rd at Byars Funeral Home with Rev. Mrs. Ledford was preceded in death by her Parents Judge & Effie Bennett, Husband Eugene Ledford, Son Charles Ledford, Brother Bud Bennett, and Sister Edith Smith. Survivors Include: Sons Jerry and Ralph Ledford both of Cumming, Daughters & Sons-In-Law Carolyn & Don Burruss and Mary Ann & Tommy Picklesiemer both of Cumming, Sister Tensie Mills and Brother L. C. Bennett both of Cumming and Idilene Pirkle of Dawsonville. 10 Grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ledford was a longtime member of Haw Creek Baptist Church for over 65 years. Robert J. Lawrence, age 89 of Johns Creek, Georgia passed away Sunday, November 29, 2009. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Ronda Noyer Lawrence in 1977 and his grandson, Barry Lawrence in 2001.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Rochelle Lawrence of Alpharetta, GA.; sons, Michael (Karen) Lawrence and Allen (Louise) Lawrence, both of Burke, VA.; daughter, Allissa (Alex) Glatter of Alpharetta, GA.; sister, Natalie (Leonard) Greenburg of NY. Five granddaughters, Amy Cannava, Maya Lawrence, Brette Lawrence, Amanda Glatter and Emily Glatter also survived.
Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at the Georgia National Cemetery.

Miriam Kuskin age 96 of Atlanta passed away Thursday January 17th, 2008. Graveside services will be held in Arlington, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her Husband Harry H. Kuskin. Tom Olen Knight
Tom Olen Knight, age 53 of Auburn, Georgia passed away Sunday, March 8, 2009 at Athens Regional Hospital. He is preceded in death by his twin brother, John Knight and sister, Louise Konig. Tom was a member of Alcova Baptist Church and a Residential and Commercial Framer.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Knight of Auburn; daughters, Melissa and Heather Knight of Dacula; son, T.J. Knight of Dacula; mother, Larue Knight of Dacula; brothers, Billy Joe and Curtis Knight of Dacula. Twelve grandchildren also survived.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2009 at Hebron Baptist Church cemetery is Dacula, GA. with Rev. Jimmy Masters officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, March 12, 2009 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Byars Funeral Home in Cumming.

David Allen Kettler
David Allen Kettler, 66, of Gainesville, GA. died November 20, 2009 in Cumming, GA. Dr. Kettler was a globally recognized executive. He served as the BellSouth Vice President in charge of the Science & Technology organization and Chief Architect for the BellSouth Network until his retirement. Prior to BellSouth, Dr. Kettler spent over 15 years at AT&T; Bell Laboratories and in Strategic Planning at the AT&T; Corporate Headquarters. After his retirement from BellSouth he served a few years as Managing Director and General Partner of H.I.G. Capital Management. He has served on public and private company boards of directors. He earned his BEE, MSEE, and Ph.D.EE from the University of Virginia and served on the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences Board of Trustees and as Chairman of the ECE Industrial Advisory Board. He actively contributed to Computer Science & Telecommunications Board Committee Reports on the Internet and Broadband. He also served on the College of Computing Advisory Board of Georgia Institute of Technology and numerous research and economic development steering committees. He proactively engaged university/industry activities, led numerous consortia projects and facilitated the technology transfer from research laboratories toward commercialization. Dr. Kettler was an IEEE Fellow.
He is survived by his beloved wife Laura, son Jeffrey A. Kettler and granddaughter Sarah. A. Kettler of Suwanee, GA, brothers and sisters Irvin G. Kettler, Jr, of Victoryville, CA, Victoria L. Hyer of White Marsh, MD, Thomas E. Kettler of Essex, MD, Kathy L. Kettler of Baltimore, MD, Cindy L. Gardener of Waldorf, MD and Debbie J. Raith of Essex, MD.
Friends and family are invited to attend a memorial service on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Gainesville First United Methodist Church, 2780 Thompson Bridge Road, Gainesville, GA. 30506. Carolann Ripley Johnson
Carolann Ripley Johnson, 48, of Alpharetta, GA died peacefully at her home on Friday, July 17, 2009, surrounded by her loved ones, after a long battle with cancer. Carolann was born February 17, 1961 in Pontiac, MI and grew up in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. Carolann had a long career in foodservice, as a general manager with TGI Friday's, and later with the Fulton County school nutrition department working as the manager of the cafeteria at Findley Oaks Elementary School where she brightened many a child's day. Carol was an active member of St. David's Episcopal Church and kept busy with her family and many friends.
Carolann is survived by her husband, Matthew; children, Zora, and Cullen; parents, Paul and Donna; siblings, Mary, Patti, and David; and nine nieces and nephews. Carolann's love of life, contagious smile and bright personality endeared her to all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at St. David's Episcopal Church, 1015 Old Roswell Rd., Roswell, GA. Visitation will be Monday, July, 20 from 6:30PM - 7:30PM. The funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2009 at 2:00PM, followed immediately by interment. Mrs. Lillie V. Jett, age 77 a lifelong resident of Forsyth County passed away Wednesday, February 4th, 2009. Mrs. Jett was a member of Daves Creek Baptist Church for over 50 years and was a devoted church member. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, William Jett of Cumming and her brother, William Pugh of North Carolina.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Friday, February 6th at Daves Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Doug Carnes and Rev. A. J. Mullinax officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 2 p.m. until service time. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m.

Jimmy R. Hendrix, age 68 of Cumming passed away Saturday, July 25th, 2009. Mr. Hendrix was a member of Silver City Baptist Church and was the “Best Papa” in the whole world!
Survivors include his wife, Judy Hendrix of Cumming; son and daughter-in-law, Scott & Penny Hendrix of Cumming; son and daughter-in-law, Mark & Betty Hendrix of Lumpkin County; daughter and son-in-law, Rachel & Tommy Oglesby of Dawsonville, two sisters, Mattie Mann of Doraville and Shirley Mooney of Cumming. Grandchildren, Keisha, Keith, Jodi, Blake, Ashley and Dustin Hendrix; Leah and Aden Oglesby also survived.
