Mrs. Louise Wilkins Monette Shelton, age 85, of Cumming, GA died Friday, April 9, 2010 at her home. Mrs. Shelton was born in Halifax Co. on July 22, 1924 to the late Eva Byerley and W.W. Wilkins, Sr. and was married
to the late L.C. Monette (1st Husband) and the late J.W. Shelton (2nd Husband). She was a retired broker for J.W. Shelton Auction & Realty Co. and a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include sons, Robert W. Monette of Atlanta, GA and Dan C. Monette of Richmond; a brother, Bailey Wilkins of Amherst; 29 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held at 10 AM Monday at Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church cemetery in Turbeville, VA. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to the service.

Lillian Irene Lester
Lillian Irene Lester, age 91 of Cumming, Georgia passed away Saturday, April 3, 2010. Mrs. Lily was born in Baldwin County and was a graduate of Emory University. She was a retired Registered Nurse. She was preceded in death by a son, Zack Cumming and a daughter, LaDora Rickerson. She was a caretaker and would rather give and help people than to receive. She was a wonderful grandmother and great-grandmother.
Graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Black Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
Survivors include her children, Hutch Hall of Cumming, Cecil Anthony Hall of High Falls, 4 nieces, 13 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Sally Kirk Jacob
Sally Kirk Jacob, age 71 of Sandy Springs passed away April 2, 2010. Sally was preceded in death by her father Charles Kirk, her mother Mildred Kirk and sister Shirley Barnes all formerly from Pelham, NY.
Sally is survived by her daughter, Susan Hart of Alpharetta; son(s) Gary Jacob of Sandy Springs and Tom Jacob of Cumming; son in law, David Hart. Sally is also survived by four grandchildren: Trey Hart, Kelly Hart, Sarah Jacob and Charlie Jacob. Guy Kenneth Foster
Guy Kenneth Foster of Alpharetta lost his battle against cancer on Monday, October 5, 2009, at the age of fifty-four. Ken was born in Nashville, TN on December 3, 1954, to the proud parents of Christine and William Foster. Ken attended The Georgia Institute of Technology during the 1970s in pursuit of a chemical engineering degree. While working on his degree he also worked for Exxon in the field of chemical engineering. During this time, he learned chemical engineering was not his passion and dropped the program. Later in the 1980s, Ken returned to school at Southern Poly Tech and received a degree in architecture. His true passion was working with his hands and that is how Ken earned his living. Ken is survived by his wife, Tylene Goodwin Foster (employed by Forsyth County Schools and North Georgia College and State University), Savannah (a sophomore at Georgia Tech), and Hunter (who graduates from the U.S. Marine boot camp on October 16, 2009). A Memorial Service honoring Ken will take place on Saturday, October 17, at 11 a.m. The service will be at First Baptist Church Woodstock (in the chapel). Mrs. Janice Evelyn Couch age 65 of Dawsonville passed away Thursday May 8th, 2008. Mrs. Couch was preceded in death by her Daughter Sandra Denise Couch in 1988.
Survivors Include: Her husband of 44 years William Couch of Dawsonville, GA.; son and daughter-in-law Michael & Selena Couch of Jasper, GA.; Four brothers Jimmy Mulkey of Franklin, GA.; Floyd Mulkey of Jonesboro, GA.; Alvin Mulkey of Valley, Al.; Virgil Mulkey of Roanoke, AL.; Two sisters Phyllis Simmons of Dublin, GA.; Rudean Ward of Carrollton, GA.; and Three grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday May 11th at The Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Church in Dawsonville with Pastor Jimmy Payne and Rev. Leroy Blackwell officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, May 9, 2008 from 6 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, May 10, 2008 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. iIntermentwill be in the church cemetery. Joan B. Worley
Joan B. Worley was born October 30, 1931 to Frances Luznar and Joseph Benedict, Jr. in Amherst, Ohio. Grew up in Samsula, Florida. Valedictorian of the class of 1949, New Smyrna Beach High School. Attended Emory University School of Nursing. Past President of Valley Forrest Garden Club. The Young Matrons Circle for Tallulah Falls School, Riverside West Garden Club and Riverside Homeowners Association.
An Avid gardener, she and her husband Bill had an extensive collection of native plants and flowers. She was a life member of the Garden Club of Georgia and was honored as member of the year.
Survived by her husband of 58 years, William L. Worley. Predeceased in death by two sisters Frances Raulerson and Marie Carter. Three living brothers are Joseph Benedict, III, Frank David Benedict and George Earl Benedict all of Samsula, Florida. Also many nieces and nephews including Lisa Raulerson Farber of Alpharetta, Georgia. Contributions can be made to the Joan B. Doris Whisenant, age 72 of Gainesville, Georgia passed away Sunday, February 22, 2009 at Embracing Hospice in Cumming, Georgia. She was Baptist by faith and a 30-year employee of Red Lobster. Mrs. Whisenant was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, John Whisenant who passed in 2004 and her brother, J.P. McLeroy.
Survivors include her sons, John and Michael Whisenant of Birmingham, AL.; daughter, Debbie Swanson of Gainesville, GA.; brother, Donnie McLeroy of Birmingham, AL.; sister, Carolyn Statham of Hayden, AL. Two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survived.
Graveside Services will be held at Hopewell Baptist Church cemetery 1 p.m. Thursday, February 26, 2009 in Ashville, AL.

Jessie Travisano
Jessie Travisano age 83, of Marietta, left this earth on May 17, 2008. Jessie leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Patrick; her sister Louise Scoles of NJ and brother and his wife Frank and Rosarie Votta of MD; her four daughters and their spouses Ginny and Larry Williams of Sugar Hill, Donna and Colin Hines of Plant City, FL, Patty and Lee Smith of Plant City, FL and Maria and Mike Cira of Alpharetta, GA; her grandchildren Brian and Greg Williams, Patrick and Kristina Hines, Lisa and Stephanie Smith and Matthew and Taylor Cira; great-grandchildren Heaven and Gavin Williams; many nieces and nephews. Jessie was preceded in death by daughter Phyllis Travisano of Roanoke, VA who succumbed to Leukemia.
Jessie’s passion was her family: going to the beach and celebrating the holidays together and watching her grandchildren grow up. She enjoyed bowling, exercising at the Y and arranging flowers.
Friends are asked to join her family at Byars Funeral Home in Cumming on Monday, May 19 from 6 to 9 p.m. A memorial mass will be held 10 a.m. at St. Brendan The Navigator Catholic Church 4633 Shiloh Rd, Cumming, GA 30040. Burial will be held immediately following at Georgia National Cemetery, 2025 Mount Carmel Church Lane, Canton GA 30114.
