Willie Lee Harris
Ms. Willie Lee Harris, 83, formally of Fargo and Statenville passed this life on Wednesday, May 31, 2006 at Shands at Lake Shore Medical Center in Lake City, Fla.
Mother Harris was born to the late Stiner Rudolph and Mammie Davison of August 20, 1922 in Butler County, Ala. She was married
to the late L.C. Harris and to this union one child was born, Betty Harris. At an early age she was a member of the Pine Top Baptist Church then later became a member to the Mt. Olive Pure Church of Righteousness, under the leadership of Elder Horace Brown, Sr. where she served as Mother of the church until her health failed and she moved to Lake City with her daughter.
Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Betty and John Henderson of Lake City; three grandsons James “Punch” Johnson of Folkston, SMSgt. Samuel Johnson of Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, and SSG Charles Lamont Williams (Dienese) of Lake city; six great-grandchildren, Chris, Bryant, C.J., Vanquisha, Brittany, and Alliyah; a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Visitation was held on Friday, June 9, 2006 at Our Daily Bread Gospel Tabernacle in Statenville.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2006 at the Fargo Charter School with Bishop Horace Brown officiating.
Burial was in the Edith cemetery in Fargo.

Charles Alvin Parker
Mr. Charles Alvin Parker, 66, passed away suddenly Thursday, June 8, 2006, at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville.
Mr. Parker was born October 19, 1939 in Nash County, North Carolina to Joyce Leggett Parker of Lyons, Ga. and the late Edward Clegg Parker. Mr. Parker had lived in Clinch County since August 1967, he was a retired Industrial Arts Teacher at Clinch County High School. He was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church, Retired Teachers Association, Masons and Shriners.
Survivors other than his mother are his wife, Marion Kight Parker of Homerville; one daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Chad Brown of Homerville; two grandchildren, Parker Brown and Logan Brown of Homerville; two sisters, Martha Abernathy of Lyons and Betty Parker of Savannah and several other relatives.
Services were held Sunday, June 11, 2006 at 2 p.m. from the Homerville First Baptist Church.
Officiating was Rev. Falgout.

Active pallbearers were Stanley Thrift, Harry Thrift, Jerry Edwards, Rick Hendrix, Lawton Smith, Laney Gruver, Herbert Tomlinson and Josh Carter.

Mary Viola Jordan Harris Rushing
Mrs Mary Viola Jordan Harris Rushing, 94, passed away Tuesday, June 6, 2006 in Melbourne, Florida, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Rushing was born in Clinch County on February 23, 1912, to the late John J. Jordan and Annie Laurel Griffin Jordan. She was a homemaker.
Survivors are one daughter, Eva Harris Kerregan of Melbourne; one step-daughter, Peggie R. Daniels of Birmingham, Ala.; one step-son, Haley W. Rushing; one sister, Mary Emma Carter of Lakeland, Fla.; one brother, Charles Jordan of Hahira; 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; and several other relatives.
A funeral service was held Sunday, June 11, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Roundtree Funeral Home.
Officiating was Mr. Stanley Carter.
Internment was in Shiloh Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were grandsons.

Edric Sharandon Tolbert
Edric Sharandon Tolbert, 18, of Homerville, passed away Monday, May 29, 2006, following an automobile accident.
He was a life-long resident of Clinch County, where he attended Clinch County High School and graduated on Friday, May, 26. He was a football player and had received a scholarship to play at East Central Community College in Decatur, Mississippi this fall. He was a member of the Greater Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his mother and step-father, Anethiette Carter and Curtis Myles, Sr. of Homerville; his father and step-mother, Edward and Nancy Tolbert of Homerville; grandparents, Marie Carter and the late Roosevelt Carter, Sr., Billy and Mozelle Tolbert Sr. all of Homerville; two sisters, Tessica Williamson, Simeyon Edith both of Homerville, two brothers, Martez Sirmans and Curtis Myles, Jr., both of Homerville; three step-sisters, Talesha Myles, Anquita Myles both of Elmira, New York, and Tyrianna Taylor of Homerville; two special sisters, Tameka Johnson and Penny Marshall both of Homerville; nine aunts, Charlene Brown of Folkston, Rose Bighams, Janice Tolbert (Billy), Darlene King (Willie), Gail Watson, Lakeeta Tolbert, Bobbie Tolbert, Betsy Tolbert and Martiele Marshall (Shannon) all of Homerville; two great-aunts, Annie Mae Carter of Jacksonville, Ava Nell McKnight of Homerville; five uncles, Roosevelt Carter, Jr. (Shirley), James McBride (Carla), Nathiel Tolbert (Barbara), John Tolbert, Jr. (Carla) all of Homerville; a special aunt, Debra Burton of Homerville, God-mother Earnestine Bolden of Homerville; special friend, Brandi Posley; three nieces, four nephews and a host of cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 10, 2006, at 2 p.m. from Lighthouse Assembly of God.
Officiating were Rev. Timothy Riser and Rev. Ed Falgout.
Active pallbearers were Carl Addison, Wendell Cobb, Justin Beard, Lamar McKnight, Eugene Kinlaw, Quentin Kinlaw, Tarvarius Thomas and Alvin Tyson.

Morris Ruben Carroll, Sr.
Mr. Morris Ruben Carroll, Sr., 73, passed away Friday, July 7, 2006 in the South Georgia Medical Center, Valdosta following a brief illness.
He was born June 8, 1933, in Mountain View, Ark. to the late Salman M. Carroll and Nellie Harper Carroll. He had lived in Clinch County for the last several years.
Survivors are two daughters, Sherry Gilhouser of Fargo and Kathy Mathers of Homerville; one son, Morris Ruben Carroll, Jr. of Portland, Ore; one sister, Marie Goodwin of Lake City, Fla; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several other relatives.
Graveside services for Mr. Carroll were held Monday, July 10, 2006 at 11 a.m. in Fargo Memorial Cemetery.

Joe Lewis Geter
Mr. Joe Lewis Geter, 62, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2006 at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Geter was born in Roanoke, Ala., November 5, 1943 to the late Columbus Geter and Mary Frances Ramsey Geter and had lived in Clinch County most of his life. He attended the Baptist Church.
Survivors are his children, Joe Ann Taylor of Homerville and twins, Timmy and Tammy Booth, Chicago, Ill.; seven sisters, Doris Davidson and Lurlene Avery both of Homerville, Mattie Staples and Louise Daniel, Roanoke, Ala., Cora Lee Copeland, Langdale, Ala., Minnie Mearl Geddies of Lake City, Fla. and Juanita Reed, Boston Mass.; three grandchildren and several other relatives.
Services for Mr. Geter will be held Saturday, July 15, 2006 at two o’clock from the Antioch Baptist Church.
iIntermentwill be in the Pine Forest Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 14, 2006 from 6 till 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Vera Mae Joyce Jeffords
Mrs. Vera Mae Joyce Jeffords, 79, went to be with the Lord, Friday, July 7, 2006 in the Lake Haven Nursing Home, Valdosta, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Jeffords was born March 29, 1927, in Clinch County to the late Alonza Joyce and Pearl Dame Joyce. She was a homemaker, worked 20 years at Standard Container and was a member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God. She was the widow of H. V. Jeffords and was preceded in death by two daughters, Nelda Jeffords Johnson and Rose Marie Jeffords; one son, James “Bud” Jeffords; one brother, A. J. Joyce and two sisters, Mavis Mobley and Lonnie Joyce.
Survivors are children, Van and Sherry Jeffords of Midway, Ga., Kathryn Rogers of Hahira, Ga., Jerrie and Clyde Gurley of Pearson, Lottie and Bruce Creech, Tampa, Fla., Robbin and Kim Jeffords of Fort Lewis, Wash., Ann and Billy Joe Graddy of Fargo, John Jeffords of Homerville and Alan and Vicki Jeffords of Waycross; two sisters and brother-in-law, Olivia Cason of Homerville, Marie and Ed Turkof Blackshear; four sisters-in-law: Naomi Jeffords, Doris Stalvey, and Orie Pittman, all of Homerville and Evelyn Capan, Jacksonville, Fla., one brother-in-law, Lloyd Jeffords of Moorhead, N.C.; 16 grandchildren, seven
great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several other relatives.

Alma Gertrude Lockamy Mobley
Mrs. Alma Gertrude Lockamy Mobley, 86, passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at the Clinch Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Mobley was born in Clinch County on May 6, 1920 to the late Ralph Edward Lockamy and Bertha Stanfield Lockamy. She was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Mobley; one daughter, Bernice Ellen Mobley Davis; one sister, Estella Lockamy; and one brother: Clarence “Shorty” Lockamy.
Survivors are one daughter and son-in-law, Wenda and W.C. Fender of Homerville; three grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, two nephews, and one niece.
Services for Mrs. Mobley were held Saturday, July 8, 2006 at ten o’clock from the Shiloh Congregational Methodist Church.
Officiating was Rev. Keith Chauncey and Rev. Clayton Davis.
Internment was in the Pine Forest Cemetery.

Felton Chester Register
Mr. Felton Chester Register, 87, passed away Thursday, July 6, 2006, at the Clinch Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness.
Mr. Register was born in Clinch County on July 9, 1918 to the late Dallas G. Register and Carrie Hughes Register. He was a Salesperson for Gulf Life Insurance Company and member of the Homerville Congregational Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Register; one sister: Ethel James; three brothers: Glenn Register, Vernie Register, and Walter Register.
Survivors are three sons and daughters-in-law: Chief of Police, Marc and Carol Register of Homerville, Billy and Linda Register of Duluth, Ga, Perry K. and Kay Register of Woodbine, Ga; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and several other relatives.
Services for Mr. Register were held Sunday, July 9, 2006 at two o’clock from the Homerville Congregational Methodist Church.
Officiating was Rev. Talmadge Guess.
Internment was in the North Cemetery, near DuPont.
