Tommy Ruffian Pearson
Mr. Tommy Ruffian Pearson, Sr., 65, passed away Sunday, July 29, 2007, surrounded by his loving family following a short fight with cancer.
Mr. Pearson was born October 3, 1941, in Bradenton, Fla., to the late James Ruffian Pearson and Nellie Albritton Pearson. He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Place of Blessings Church of God, Argyle. He loved playing the guitar and always had a big smile and hug for everyone he met.
Survivors are his wife: Sandra Gibson Pearson of Homerville; three daughters, Tammy Mathews of Las Vegas, Nev., Pam Taft and Deanna Pearson both of Homerville; three sons: Tommy Pearson, Jr. and D. J. Pearson both of Cartersville, Ga. and Rick Pearson of Homerville; four sisters, Leona Hornbuckle and Lois Pearson both of Lakeland, Fla., Jeanice Thomas of Argyle and Terry Jackson of Tampa, Fla.; 17 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several other relatives.
Services for Mr. Pearson were held Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the Place of Blessings Church of God, Argyle.
Officiating was Rev. David Inman and Rev. Samuel David Inman and Rev. Rick Pearson.
Internment was in the Shiloh Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were James Beverly, Robert Beverly, Bobby Finch, Mark Thomas, Stanley McCall and Charles Aldridge.
Honorary pallbearers were Harry Griffin, Noah Bagley, Leo Bagley, Buddy Spradley, Johnny Westmoreland, John Lanier, James Pittman and Donald Stalvey.
Danny Holmes sang “Beulah Land” and “Go Rest High On That Mountain”, Brandi Harris sang “The Sun’s Coming Up In The Morning” and W.G. Smith sang “Daddy’s Hands”.
Roundtree Funeral Home served the Pearson Family.

Ava Nell Roe Touchton
Mrs. Ava Nell Roe Touchton, 83 of Homerville, passed away early Thursday September 13, 2007 at Lakeland Villa Convalescent Center following a brief illness.
Mrs. Touchton was born February 1, 1924 in Clinch County. She was a member of the Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church and the Fargo Senior Citizens. She was the daughter of the late Sally Thomas Roe and Johnny Roe and was preceded in death by her husband William Franklin Touchton, and one son Franklin Touchton .
Survivors are one daughter Glenda Ballance of Homerville; one sister, Johnnie Faye Vest of Homerville; one brother Otis Roe of Houston, Texas; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several other relatives.
Services for Mrs. Touchton were held Saturday September 15, 2007 at 2 p.m. from the Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church.
Officiating was Rev. Keith Chauncey and Rev. Lynn Barber.
Internment was in the Pine Forest Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Tony Mikell, Jimmy Wilson, Damon Chauncey, Paul Chauncey, Dempsey Bennett and Johnny Guy.
Honorary pallbearers were member of the Ladies Prayer Band.
W. G. Smith sang “Go Rest High On That Mountain” and “Sweet Beulah Land”.
Roundtree Funeral Home served the Touchton Family.

Tony Morris Rowland
Mr. Tony Morris Rowland, 60 of Waycross passed away Monday, September 10, 2007 at his home following a brief illness.
Mr. Rowland was born September 19, 1945 in Ware County, to Alice Taylor White and James Talmadge Rowland. He was a member of Liberty Christian Church of Waycross.
Survivors are his wife, Fedelia White Rowland pf Waycross; one sister, Joann Mirdaniala of Jacksonville Fla.; two brothers, Crystal Rowland and John Rowland both of Waycross and several other relatives.
Services were held Thursday September 13, 2007 at 11 a.m. from the Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church.
Officiating was Rev. Keith Chauncey and Rev. Ralph Crews
iIntermentwas in the Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Richard Murray, Ashley Stokes, Jimmy Stokes, James Lovell, Randall Hamilton and Randall White.
W. G. Smith sang “Go Rest High On That Mountain” and “Sweet Beulah Land”.
Roundtree Funeral Home served the Rowland Family.

Vera Nell Griffis Peach
Mrs. Vera Nell Griffis Peach, 64, passed away Thursday, December 13, 2007, in the Clinch Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness.
Mrs. Peach was born June 13, 1943, in Clinch County to the late Seward Griffis and Vera Futch Griffis. She was retired from Brockway Standard as a machine operator and was the widow of James Edward Peach.
Survivors are two daughters, Leanne Peach of Homerville and Kathy Forsythe of Pearson; one son, Jimmy Peach of Nashville; two sisters, Susie McCain and Laura Maine both of Homerville; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a special niece, Nancy Shaw and several other relatives.
Services for Mrs. Peach were held Saturday, December 15, 2007 at three o’clock from the Chapel of Roundtree Funeral Home.
Officiating was Rev. Keith Chauncey and Rev. William Musgrove.
iIntermentwas in the Pine Forest Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Kyle Guy, Barry Peach, Travis Peach, Josh Forsythe, Justin Peach, Jonathan Forsythe and Jordan Peach.
A tape of "When I Get Where I’m Going" was played and W. G. Smith sang "Beulah Land".

Louelle Godwin Jordan Bottomly
Mrs. Louelle Godwin Jordan Bottomly, 73, of Ft. White, Fla., passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007 in the Shands at the University of Florida Hospital, Gainesville, Fla., following an extended illness.
Mrs. Bottomly was born December 25, 1933 in Clinch County to the late David Marcellus Godwin and Minnie Pearl Howell Godwin. She was retired from Aerospace and was a member of the Victory Assembly of God, Ellenville, FL. She was preceded in death by one sister, Boulise Griffin and two brothers, Karl Godwin and J. H. Godwin.
Survivors are her husband, Marcus Bottomly of Ft. White, Fla.; four daughters, Davia Reitz, and Edith Cadwallder both of Rocky Mountain, N.C., Nicole Tillman of High Springs, Fla. and Giselle Bottomly of Pennsylvania; five sons, Kevin Jordan of Ft. White, Darrell Jordan of Raiford, Fla., Earl Jordan of Alma, Nelson Jordan of Jacksonville, and Daniel Bottomly of Venice, Italy; one brother, Morris Godwin of Waycross; 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and several other relatives.
Services for Mrs. Bottomly were held Saturday, December 15, 2007, at eleven o’clock from the Shiloh Southern Congregational Methodist Church.
Officiating was Rev. Keith Chauncey, Roger Godwin, Jewel Tillman and Alfred Jordan.
iIntermentwas in the Shiloh Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jerrett Reitz, Myles Reitz, Jason Jordan, Eric Jordan, Darrell Jordan and Bo Jordan.
David Godwin and Sherrie Davis sang "Amazing Grace", "Beulah Land" and "Wish You Were Here", accompanied by Tonya Godwin on the piano.

Mr. Kearmet Mosley
Mr. Kearmet Mosley, 70, passed away, Saturday, June 28, 2008, in the Louis Smith Hospital in Lakeland following an extended illness.
Mr. Mosley was born June 12, 1938, in Toombs County, Georgia to the late Hilton Mosley, Sr. and Ethel Ricks Mosley. He attended the Homerville High and Elementary School, was retired from Brockway Standard and was a member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Hilton Mosley, Jr. and Ernest Mosley.
Survivors are five sisters and brothers-in-law, Vodean Mosley, Ethel Pearl and Melvin Grady all of Homerville, Ruthie Lee and James Bray of Jacksonville, Fla., Vivian Thomas of Atlanta, Mary Frances Going of Miami; three brothers, Tony Mosley and Milton Mosley both of Gainesville, Fla. and Georgia Thomas of Jacksonville, Fla.; a host of nieces, nephew, aunts and other relatives and friends.
Services for Mr. Mosley will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2008 at 11 a.m. from the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church.
iIntermentwill be in Pine Forest Cemetery.
Mr. Mosley will be carried to the church one hour prior to services.
Roundtree Funeral Home is servicing the Mosley family.

Dell Terry Bennett
Mr. Dell Terry Bennett, 65, passed away Friday, September 5, 2008, at the Clinch Memorial Hospital, following an extended illness.
Mr. Bennett was born February 15, 1943, in Clinch County, to the late Dell Eason Bennett and Vesta Elizabeth James Bennett. He was retired from the City of Homerville Water Department and was a past Clinch County Coroner. He was a member of Argyle United Methodist Church, Antioch Methodist Church, a Mason, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and helping build cars in his spare time.
Surviors are one daughter, Elizabeth Jane Bell of Douglas, Ga; three sons, Dell Lee Bennett of Argyle, James Lewis Bennett, Santiargo Bennett both of Homerville; one brother, Willis Bennett of Manor; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several other relatives.
Memorial services for Mr. Bennett were held Sunday, September 7, 2008 at three o’clock, from the Homerville Congregational Methodist Church.
Officiating was Rev. Talmadge Guess and Rev. William Musgrove.
Internment was in Pine Forest Cemetery.
W.G. Smith sang "Beulah Land", "Amazing Grace", and "Go Rest High On That Mountain".
Memorial donations may be made to the Homerville Congregational Methodist Church, P.O. Box 402, Homerville, Ga. 3163.

Floriene Ruth VanGorden Calley
Mrs. Floriene Ruth VanGorden Calley, 88, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at the Clinch Memorial Hospital, following a brief illness.
Mrs. Calley was born January 4, 1920 in Flat Rock, Ind., to the late Alden VanGorden and Florence Ruth Garrison VanGorden. She was a home maker, a member of New Vision Church of God, a Sunday School Teacher for many years, and a Senior Citizens Center Member. Mrs. Calley was preceded by her husband, William Emory Calley Sr., two sons, Richard A. Calley and Gregory Calley, and a brother, Arthur “Buster” VanGorden.
Survivors are one son and daughter in law, William E. “Billy” and Quida Calley of Homerville; one daughter-in-law, Sharon Calley of Homerville; two sisters, Betty Brody of Ridge Manor, Fla. and Polly Ann Fowler of Lakeland, Fla. seven grandchildren, William and Kim Calley, Brian Calley, Gina and Dewayne Stalvey, Michelle Godfrey, Mary Ruth Handley, Gregory Calley and Kristy Corbitt; nine great-grandchildren, Ryder Godfrey, Chance Cooper, Trinity Cooper, Zachery Handley, Breanna Handley, Blakely Calley, Dustin Stalvey, Jennifer Stalvey and Lexie Calley; one great-great-grandchildren, Rayce Godfery; a special niece, Barbara Ann Wollitz; two special friends, Dorothy Gray and Beatrice Landrum; and several other relatives.
Services for Mrs. Calley were held Thursday, September 11, 2008, at 11 a.m. from the New Vision Church of God.
Officiating was Rev. David L. Vanou, Rev. Jerry Baldree, Rev. Carolyn Warren and Rev. Ed Falgout.
iIntermentwas in the Pine Forest Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were William Colley, Brian Calley, Gregory Calley, Ryder Godfrey, Zachery Handley, Blakely Calley and Dustin Stalvey.
Honorary pallbearers were the Senior Citizen Center and Suday School Class.
Lexie Calley sang "I Can Only Imagine", W.G. Smith sang "Beulah Land" and "When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder".
Flowers were accepted or donations maybe made to the Seniors Citizen Center, 313 W. Dame Avenue, Homerville Ga 31634.
