George McLendon Daniels, Sr.
George McLendon Daniels, Sr., 64, of Stockton, passed away Sunday, September 7, 2008, at his residence after an apparent heart attack.
He was born January 2, 1944, in Hamilton County, Fla., to the late Walter and Minnie (Abbot) Daniels. He worked as a Truck Foreman for Hamilton County before his retirement. He is preceded in death by a son, Rusty Daniels.
Survivors include his two sons, Buck Daniels of Stockton, George Daniels of Fargo; two daughters, Brandy Bracewell of Jasper, Fla., Violia Driver of Dowling Park, Fla.; two brothers, J.D. Daniels, Jimmy Daniels both of Jasper; two sisters, Myrtle Stewart, Pauline Harvey of Jasper; eight grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2008 in the Lakeland Chapel of Music Funeral Services with burial following in the Stockton Cemetery.

Rita Jouida Ann Fussell
Ms. Rita Jouida Ann Fussell, age 64, of Douglas, Ga. passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at Shady Acres Convalescent Center, Douglas.
Ms. Fussell, a native of Coffee County, Georgia, was born November 14, 1943. She is the daughter of Nellie Jo Daniel Fussell, and the late Harvey Fussell. She was a Social Worker with the Coffee County Georgia DFCS office, and formerly worked at the Clinch County DFCS office.
Survivors include, a son, Jeffery Hinson Patton of Valdosta; her mother, Nellie Jo Fussell of Douglas; brother, Norman (Mary Jo) Fussell, Douglas, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m., Thursday, September, 11, 2008 at Mount Union Primitive Baptist Church near Ambrose, Ga.
Officiating was Elder Phillip Smith, Brother T.C. Norris and Rev. Austin Deloach.
The Congregation sang, “Where The Soul Never Dies” and “There’ll Be Joy" with Felicia Ellis as Pianist.
Burial followed in the Mount Union Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jerry Paulk, Terry Fussell, Clyde Kirkland, Jr., Wayne Fussell, Denny Hendley and Haley Ellis.
Honorary pallbearers were Bethany Hospice Staff, church members, and her special friends, Marie Black, Belinda Johnson and Barbara Tucker.

Brenda Gail Stalvey Selph
Mrs. Brenda Gail Stalvey Selph, 50, passed away Friday, September 5, 2008 at her residence.
Mrs. Selph was born September 13, 1957, in Dade City, Florida, to Margaret Harper Stalvey Moody and the late James Leslie Stalvey. She was a homemaker and holiness by faith.
Survivors other than her mother are her husband, Ricky Selph of Homerville; two daughters and son-in-law, Crystal and Winston D. Peterson, Jennifer Selph all of Homerville; one son, Mitchell Smith of Homerville; two sisters, Delores Herrin of Homerville and Patricia Davis of DuPont; two brothers, James David Stalvey of Valdosta and J. L. Stalvey of Homerville; two grandchildren, Austin Peterson and Emma Ryleigh Peterson both of Homerville and several other relatives.
Services for Mrs. Selph were held Tuesday, September 9, 2008 at two o’clock from the Trinity Baptist Church.
Officiating was Rev. Ed Falgout.

Sadie G. Minchew
Sadie Virginia Griffin Minchew, 94, of Manor died Sunday, October 5, 2008 at Candler County Hospital in Metter, Ga. after a short illness. She was born in Brantley County to the late B.H. and Myrtice Altman Griffin. Mrs. Minchew lived in Manor for most of her life and was a member of the Manor United Methodist Church. She worked at Standard Container in Homerville and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Joe Tommie Minchew and 10 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one daughter, Theresa Clements of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.; three sons, Joe S. Minchew and his wife Sarah of Metter, Ga., Horace G. Minchew and his wife Nancy of Jesup, and Jerry M. Minchew of White Oak, Ga.; one sister, Myrtle Strickland of Waycross; 11 grandchildren, Ann, Jane, Sue, Tommy, Sherry, Jackie, Kristin, Craig, Phyllis, Pam and Kevin; 18 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, October 8, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial followed in Victory Chapel Methodist Church Cemetery.

Lizzie Idell Wetherington
Mrs. Lizzie Idell Wetherington, 82, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at the Clinch Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Wetherington was born December 17, 1925, in Lanier County, to the late Plesant Watson and Bessie Griner Watson. She was a member of the Homerville Congregational Methodist Church and was retired from the Clinch County Middle School Lunchroom. She was the window of Frank L. Wetherington, and is preceded in death by two brothers, J.P. Watson and Bill Watson.
Survivors are a daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Cecil Vest of Homerville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Frank L. and Nelda Wetherington of Valdosta, Darrell and Martha Jon Wetherington of Homerville and Quinn and Terry Wetherington of Moultrie; one sister Osra Mae Blanton of Nashville; 10 great-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and several other relatives.
Services for Mrs. Wetherington were held Saturday, October 11, 2008 from the Homerville Congregational Methodist Church.
Officiating was Rev. Talmadge Guess.

Bonnie Lee White, Jr.
Mr. Bonnie Lee White Jr., 59, passed away Saturday, October 11, 2008, in Veterans Administrative Medical Center in Lake City, Fla. following a short illness.
Mr. White was born September 29, 1949, in Lowndes County, Alabama, to the late Bonnie Lee White, Sr. and Edith Jewell Stallings White. He was a truck driver for Graddy Post and was veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Survivors are two sons, Grover Casey White and Daniel Corey White both of Homerville; one daughter, Sharona Pryde of MacClenny, Fla.; three sisters, Angelon Seago of Valdosta, Aletha Griffin and Elizabeth Barnes both of Homerville; one brother, Sammy White of Hiram, Ga.; two grandchildren, Britney White and Damien Pryde both of MacClenny, and several other relatives.
Funeral services are incomplete and will be announced by Roundtree Funeral Home.
Peggy Young Banjanin
Mrs. Peggy Young Banjanin crossed over into God’s loving care on Friday, December 12, 2008.
She was born January 17, 1942, in Atlanta, to EB and Stella Kirkland Carroll. She lived her life always caring for people and for the animals God sent her way. Peg spent six years as the Legislative Aide to Tom Banjanin, the Florida Legislature. She was a Commissioner’s Aide to former County Commissioner, Tom Banjanin, District 4 for 12 years. Many Pensacolians will remember her loving spirit as she assisted those with needs, especially during hurricane Ivan. Peggy was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. She was preceeded in death by her father, E.B. Carroll formerly of Jacksonville; maternal grandparents, Cylar and Charity Kirkland formerly of Dupont,
She leaves her loving husband, Tom Banjanin of Pensacola; her mother, Stella Carroll of Pensacola; twin sisters, Jan Harnish of Mississippi and Sue Loveless of Pensacola; her daughter, Jennifer Young of Miami; her granddaughter, Calla Banjanin of Pensacola; nephew, Jason Loveless; sister-in-law; Pat Banjanin; stepdaughter, Sari Banjanin; brothers-in-law, Earl Dion Loveless and John Harnish; cousins, Louise Gilley, Eloise Strickland both of Homerville, Sandra Mullis of Dupont; many family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Services for Mrs. Banjanin were held Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Roundtree Funeral Home.

Bessie Young Henderson
Mrs. Bessie Young Henderson, 85, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2008, at the Clinch Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Henderson was born December 20, 1922, in Clinch County, to the late Peter Aaron Young and Estelle Higginbothan Young. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church. Mrs. Henderson was preceded in death by her husband, Cody Henderson; a daughter, Vivian Booth; and a great-grandson, Brance Register.
Survivors are four daughters and sons-in-law, Oudia and Billy Calley, Eileen Henderson all of Homerville, Angie and Jimmy Cumby, of Valdosta, Louise Rankin of Inverness, Fla.; two sisters, Ollie Allison of Jasper, and Juanice Aaron of Columbia, S.C.; 12 grandchildren and a step-grandchild, William Calley, Brian Calley, Gina Stalvey, Josh Woodard, Lorie Register, Leslie Booth, Melissa Morgan, Roy Strickland, Marcie Oxford, Vicky Weaver, Russell and Brandon Rankin, and Jason Cumby; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; care givers and friends: Connie Morris, Jessie Lanier, Drema Voight, Brenda Jewell, April Clewis; and several other relatives.
Services for Mrs. Henderson were held Tuesday, December 16, 2008, at 4 p.m. from the First Baptist Church.

Allene H. Cunningham
Mrs. Allene "Gee Gee" H. Cunningham, 89, of Homerville, died Monday, December 6, 2010, at her residence after an illness.
She was a native of Clinch County (Holmes Chapel Community), and the youngest of nine children born to the late Osborn and Ella Holmes, all of whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William "Sonny" Cunningham and a granddaughter, Lawanna Cunningham. She received her formal education from Holmes Chapel Community School, Homerville, and Stanton Senior High School in Jacksonville, Fla., where she graduated in 1942. She also graduated from Duval County Nursing School in Jacksonville in 1946. She worked in the healthcare field as an LPN for many years at Clinch Memorial Hospital and Mullis Manor Nursing Home both in Homerville. After her retirement, she became a volunteer and served as a Pink Lady at Clinch Memorial Hospital. She was a long-time member of Brown Chapel A.M.E. Church where she served as a class leader, steward, trustee, Y.P.D. director, Missionary President and a member of Choir No.1. She helped start the P.T.A. at Homerville High and Elementary Schools, and she held many civic positions, and received recognition as "Clinch Countian of the Week" June 30, 1999 and "Citizen of the Year in 2005". She started the NAACP voter drive and a neighborhood watch. "Ms. Allene", as she was affectionately known, had a love for public speaking and singing.
Survivors include a daughter, Ruthie Johnson (husband, Boyd) of Los Angeles, Calif.; a son, William "Billy" Cunningham (wife, Betty) of Homerville; step-son, William M. Cunningham (wife, Shirley) of Fort Pierce, Fla.; four grandchildren, Schwanna Lakine (husband, Fredrick) of Atlanta, Jeannette Outlet of Chicago, Ill., Shierra Outlet of Los Angeles, Calif., Dr. William K. Cunningham of Rockford, N.C.; two great-grandchildren, Milan West of Los Angeles and Kayla Lakine of Atlanta; two sisters-in-law, Beatrice Eady of Ridgeland, S.C., and Lucille Horne of Homerville; a brother-in-law, Archie Cunningham of Homerville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service was held Sunday, December 12, 2010 at 2 p.m. at Brown's Chapel A.M.E. Church.
Rev. Johnny Mathis did the eulogy.

William M. Wilson, Jr.
Mr. William M. Wilson, Jr., 83, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010, in the Clinch Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Wilson was born June 5, 1927 in Atkinson County, to the late William M. Wilson, Sr., and Mary Corbitt Wilson. Mr. Wilson was a charter member of the Homerville Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon, Trustee and Sunday School Teacher for over 30 years and was a charter member of the Homerville Exchange Club. Mr. Wilson was in the timber and tree planting business before opening Wilson Motor Company. He was preceded in death by one sister, Ouida Hamilton; two brothers, W. N. Wilson and James Martin Wilson and a son-in-law: Josh Griffis.
Survivors are his wife of 60 years, Carolyn Hinson Wilson of Homerville; two daughters and sons-in-law, Melonie and Johnny Mack Brown and Bambi Griffis and Harlon Conner all of Homerville; five grandchildren, Brian and Kylee Brown, Dion and Emily Griffis, Wilson and Betsy Griffis, Amy and Joey Fitzgerald and Rebecca Brown; eight great-grandchildren, Collin Brown, Nick Brown, Josh Griffis, Cade Griffis, Will Griffis, Carter Griffis, Ellie Grace Griffis and Molly Fitzgerald; one sister and brother-in-law: Marilu and Harmon Hinson of Homerville, two sisters-in-law, JoAnn and Chuck O’Keefe, Tallahassee, Fla. and Shirley Wilson of Homerville, and several other relatives.
Services for Mr. Wilson were held Sunday, December 12, 2010 at 3 p.m. from the Homerville Free Will Baptist Church.
Officiating was Rev. Josh Crozier and Rev. Jeff Goodman.
Internment was in the Shiloh Church Cemetery.
