Willa Pearl Prather
Dated: Jun 13, 2004
Willa Pearl Prather, 85, passed on Saturday June 12, 2004 at Baptist Village after a lengthy illness. Words cannot express our appreciation for the prayers, flowers, visits, phone calls, cards and encouragement given during this time. As her daughter Vicki says, she built a monument of love in the hearts of those who knew her. She was a beautiful lady indeed (inside and out), always keeping her hair in place and her pretty lipstick. No one could say Sugar, Hon or Darling like Mama. She will be greatly missed by all her friends and loved ones; but, it was time to let go and let God have her back.
Willa Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Bradley Ewing Prather, who passed June 2002 in Decatur, GA; which was their home for 32 years. They were members of Snellville Church of Christ. Bradley was one of the 12 children of Vesta and Ridley Justice Prather of Lagrange.
Viewing for last respects in Waycross at Miles-Odum Funeral Home will be on Monday from 6-8 p.m. and in Lagrange at Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.
Graveside services will follow at Restlawn cemetery of Camellia in Lagrange Wednesday at 2:00 p.m.
Willa Pearl created a family of 5 children: Dorothy June Coleman, which preceded her in death, Larry Paul Still, Delton, FL, Bradley Ronald Prather, New Salisbury, Indiana, Vicki Prather Davis, Waycross, Stephen Joel Prather, Waycross; 9 grandchildren: Debbie, Tammy, Ronnie, Margie, Shawn, Sherrice, Jason, Chad, Brad; 8 great-grandchildren: Sandra Gail, Janet, William, Derek, Alex, Aaron, Andrew, Ethan; and 3 great-great grandchildren: Austin, Brittany, and Amber. Willa Pearl also loved Mike and Donna Grier and Velinda Bishop like her own. Pearl and Bradley were wonderful role models in their late years and will live forever in our hearts and memories. May you rest in peace.
