SWAINSBORO--Funeral for Robert Lee Washington, 57, will be held Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005 at 3:30 p.m. at St. Philip Baptist Church with Rev. Cecil Dunlap officiating and Rev. James Love and Rev. Bennie Brinson assisting. Burial will be held in Swainsboro City Cemetery.
Mr. Washington was a native of Emanuel County where he attended public schools. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Lexsy for many years. He served in the U.S. Armed Forces with three tours in South Vietnam, and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge along with other awards. He furthered his education at Okefenokee Technical Institute and was owner and operator of K&R; Home Repair and Interior Designs.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Harris Washington of Swainsboro; three daughters, Olympia Allen of Swainsboro; Turkeesha Williams of Augusta; and Irsha Jamia Washington of Valdosta; two sons, Anthony Lloyd of Swainsboro; and Robert Washington Jr. of Ft. Bragg, N.C.; two brothers, Lewis Oglesby of Miami, Fla.; and Paul Weaver of Swainsboro; a sister, Jennie Phillips of Swainsboro; and 11 grandchildren.

Ary Beatrice Key, 91
ADRIAN--Funeral for Ary Beatrice Key, 91, was held Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005 at 3 p.m. with Dr. Jack Key and Rev. Allen Cason officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. She died Friday, Oct. 21, 2005.
Mrs. Key was born and raised in Emanuel County and had lived in Jacksonville, Fla. before returning to Adrian 30 years ago. She was the daughter of the late Nelson and Mattie Flanders Kea and was married
to the late Ollie Key. She was a retired florist and sales representative for Avon and was a member of Kea’s United Methodist Church in Adrian.
Survivors include four sisters, Ruth Foskey and Katherine Thompson of Adrian; June Reagan and LaVerne Callan of Jacksonville, Fla.; and two brothers, Grahl Kea of Dublin’ and Rev. Robert Kea of Soperton.
Pallbearers were Elliott Barwick, Ronnie Kea, Buddy Bloodworth, Bill Morell, John Reagan and John Webb.

Clifford Brinson, 78
SWAINSBORO--Memorial service for Clifford Brinson, 78, will be held Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005 at 3 p.m. at Swainsboro Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Frank Weigl officiating. He died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005 at his residence.
Mr. Brinson was a native of Treutlen County and had lived here for many years, He worked as a saw filer at Swainsboro Saw Works and served in the United States Navy as well as the Army. He was a member of Swainsboro Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette R. Brinson of Swainsboro; sons and daughters-in-law, Andy Brinson and Debra of Dunn, N.C.; Clifford M. Brinson and Deborah of Tignall; daughter-in-law, Mable Lanier; daughters and sons-in-law, Janie K. Smith and M. Danny Smith of Soperton; and Sara M. Reedy and Stephen D. of Covington; brothers, Kenneth Brinson of Swainsboro; and Rayford Brinson of Pooler; grandchildren, Jan L. Fansler, Andrea G. Owen, Ward A. Brinson Jr., Heather M. Brinson, C. TWIN CITY--Funeral for Mattie Lee Robertson Coleman, 76, will be held Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005 at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary with Rev. Lamar Kersey and Rev. Craig Tillman officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. She died Monday, Oct. 24, 2005 at her residence after an extended illness.
Mrs. Coleman was a native of Emanuel County, a homemaker and attended Antioch Primitive Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Coleman, Sr.

Zunell “Nell” Daniels Webb, 80
TWIN CITY--Funeral for Zunell “Nell” Daniels Webb, 80, was held Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005 at 11 a.m. at El Bethel Baptist Church, near Twin City, with burial in the church cemetery. She died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005.
Mrs. Webb was a native of Emanuel County lived all of her life there. She was a member of El Bethel Baptist Church for many years and a member of the Senior Adult Sunday School Class.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Linda Webb of Twin City; Jerry and Rena Webb of Cobbtown; and Ike and Leigh Webb of Twin City; a sister, Jeanette Johnson of Atlanta; grandchildren Monica Dorner, Jill Ann Carter, Jeri Kay Webb, Maggie Hadden, Jay Webb, Clair Webb, Taylor Webb, Reid Webb, and Jeb Webb; and great-grandchildren Ethan Dorner, Jacob Dorner, Sara Kate Carter, and Reese Hadden.

Ethel Caraway, 90
EVANS--Funeral for Ethel Caraway, 90, was held Friday, Feb. 4, 2005 in the chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home in Martinez with Rev. Bill Harrell and Rev. Barry Daniel officiating. Burial was in Gumlog Primitive Church cemetery in Kite. She died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005 at Westwood Nursing Home in Evans.
A native of Johnson County, Mrs. Caraway had resided in the Augusta area since moving from Swainsboro in 1994. A resident of Swainsboro for about 50 years, Mrs. Caraway had retired at age 79 from Twin City Manufacturing Co. after 50 years of service. In Swainsboro, she attended Maranatha Pentecostal Holiness Church where she was involved with the Women’s Missions and Ladies Circle. She was a member of Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church in Kite. She was preceded in death by her husband, Zeanus T. Caraway; a son, William “Bill” Caraway; and a granddaughter, Paula Bowen.
Survivors include two daughters, Jeanette C. Snell of Evans; and Barbara Poole of Grovetown; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Clara B. Lumley, 73
ADRIAN--Funeral for Clara B. Lumley, 73, was held Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Adrian United Methodist Church with Rev. Gerald Palmer officiating. Burial was in Poplar Springs cemetery in Johnson County. She died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005.
Mrs. Lumley was a native of Wheeler County and had lived most of her life in Johnson County. She was the daughter of the late Ed and Loyd Young Pittman. She was a homemaker and a member of Adrian United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy G. Lumley; three sons, Jimmy Britt of Greensboro; Tommy Lumley of Adrian; and Jerry Lumley of Macon; two daughters Jan Haskins and Joy Shepherd of Dublin; a sister, Lizzie Pittman of Dublin; a brother, Cecil Pittman of Dublin; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Cindy Clark Lynch, 43
THUNDERBOLT--Funeral for Cindy Clark Lynch, 43, was held Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Grace Community Church in Statesboro with Rev. Michael G. Holt officiating. Burial was in Eastbrook cemetery in Swainsboro at 4 p.m. She died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005.
Mrs. Lynch was a native of Emanuel County, owner and operator of Bangles Salon in Swainsboro and was a member of Grace Community Church. She was actively involved in community affairs including Relay For Life, was a member of the Downtown Development Commission and the Swainsboro-Emanuel County Chamber of Commerce.
Survivors include her husband, Chet Lynch of Thunderbolt; mother and stepfather, Joyce and Bill Toulson of Louisville; her father, Hyland Clark of Garfield; one daughter, Zaid Greenway of Twin City; one stepdaughter, Stacie Lynch of Savannah; one son, Payton Greenway of Twin City; two stepsons, Brandon Lynch and Dustin Lynch of Savannah; one sister, Connie Mercer of Twin City; one half-sister, Amy McBride of Metter; four stepsisters, Debbie Wilson and Gail Lauler of Atlanta; Bea Cliatt of Quincey, Ill.; and Joyce Livsey of Augusta; one brother, Randy Clark of Ball Ground; one stepbrother, William Toulson, Jr. of Louisville; and one stepgrandson, Kaden Lynch of Savannah.

Roland Morgan, 74
VIDALIA--Funeral for Roland Morgan, 74, was held Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Wood Funeral Home in Metter with Rev. Johnny Beasley officiating. Burial was in Antioch Primitive Baptist Church cemetery in Emanuel County with full military honors. He died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005 at Meadows Regional Center.
Born in Emanuel County, Mr. Morgan was the son of the late Glover Morgan and Idel Durden Morgan. He was a retired Army Master Sergeant with 20 years service. He served in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster. He was a Baptist by faith. He was preceded in death by a brother, Warren Morgan.
Survivors include a sister, Minnielu Bell of Metter; sister-in-law Billie Morgan of Brooklet; and loving companion, Dean Wright of Vidalia.

Billie Overstreet Lamb, 77
COLUMBUS--Funeral for Billie Overstreet Lamb, 77, was held Friday, Jan. 14, 2005 at 12 noon at Bithynia Primitive Baptist Church in Swainsboro with Rev. Ray Jenkins officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. She died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005 at St. Francis Hospital.
Mrs. Lamb was born in Swainsboro on Nov. 14, 1927 to the late William Henry Overstreet and Belle McBride Overstreet. She live din Columbus since 1952 and was a Methodist by faith. She was a retired private duty nurse. Preceding her in death were her husband, Isaac Lamb; and her sister, Adell Colburn.
Survivors include her son, Bobby K. Lamb of Columbus; a grandson, Duane Lamb of Phenix City; three brothers, Guy Overstreet and Jack Overstreet of Swainsboro; Pierce Overstreet of Augusta.

James L. Raffield, 70
EAST DUBLIN--Funeral for James L. Raffield, 70, of East Dublin, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005 at Gethsemane United Methodist Church with Rev. Tommy Veal officiating. Burial will follow at Dublin Memorial Gardens. He died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005 at his residence.
Mr. Raffield was born to Eugenia Currie Raffield and the late Johnnie L. Raffield on Feb. 24, 1934 at Glenwood in Wheeler County. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran, he was a life-long resident of Laurens County. He retired from Robins AFB and ARINC, Inc., Warner Robins, where he was a logistic manager for the B-52 Bomb Nav System and Precision Attack SPO, respectively. He was a very active member of Gethsemane United Methodist Church in East Dublin, where he served as chairman of Trustees and teacher of the Friendship Sunday School Class. He was predeceased by his father and brothers, Currie and Toney Raffield.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara F. Raffield of East Dublin; mother, Eugenia C. Raffield of Dublin; son, Richard Raffield; daughter, Elaine Benefield of Dublin; daughter, Myrlene Gay of East Dublin; brother, Kenneth Raffield of Dublin, Ohio.

Lottie Brown Flanders, 93
METTER--Funeral for Lottie Brown Flanders, 93, was held Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Kennedy-Morgan Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel, with Elder Randy Waters officiating. Burial was in Lake Cemetery. She died Friday, Jan. 14, 2005 at Emanuel County Nursing Home.
Mrs. Flanders was a Candler County native and lifelong resident. She was a homemaker and worked at Candler County Schools Food Services. She was a member of Lake Primitive Baptist Church and the widow of Otis Lee Flanders.
Survivors include a son, Jimmy L. Flanders of Swainsboro; a brother, J.B. Brown of Ft. Wentworth; a sister, Susie Hale of Metter; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Berlie Ellis Henry, 79
SWAINSBORO--Funeral for Berlie Ellis Henry, 79, of Swainsboro will be held Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Peebles Curry Durden Mortuary with son-in-law, Rev Mike Trimble and Rev. Luther Burns officiating. Burial will be in Eastbrook Cemetery. He died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005 in Michigan after an extended illness.
Mr. Henry was a 1944 graduate of Swainsboro High School. His parents died week before his graduation and he entered the Army a short time after and served for twenty-three years. He served as rifleman in France, Belgium and Germany during three major battles, Ardennes Forest or Bulge, Rhineland and Central Europe. The remainder of his service was in an administrative capacity as clerk, supervisor and office manager. He retired in 1968 as master sergeant after receiving the Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Ribbon with medal pendant, Good Conduct Medal, European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, World War II Victory Medal to name a few. Mr. Henry returned to Emanuel County after retirement and was Emanuel County Tax Assessor for several years. He served as deacon at Swainsboro Free Will Baptist Church for many years. He was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.
Survivors are his wife, Inell Amerson Henry of Swainsboro; two daughters and one son-in-law, Jill H. Landing of Savannah; and Terry and Mike Trimble of Detroit, Mich.; one sister, Reba Fortner of Pooler; and five grandchildren, Tifani L. Pool, John Henry Landing of Savannah and Ben, Byron, and Blake Ellison Trimble, all of Detroit, Mich.
Pallbearers are Mike Henry, Tal Henry, Jamie Henry, Randall Kersey, Pete Canady and Ed Hodges.
