TWIN CITY-- Funeral for Pedro Andrews, 88, was held Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Twin City First Baptist Church with Rev. Franklin Sasser officiating. Burial was in Poplar Springs Cemetery. He died Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005 at Johnson County Nursing home in Scott.
Mr. Andrews was a native of Emanuel County and employed with Miami Carey-Liberty Bell for many years. He was a member and deacon of Twin City First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Hobbs and husband, Jack Jr., of Atlanta; and Sue Andrews of Atlanta; special cousins Johnnie Fulford, Peggy Anderson and Eddie Andrews; grandchildren, Jack Hobbs III and wife, Karen of Atlanta; and great-grandchildren Jacob and Callie Hobbs of Atlanta.
Pallbearers were Jay Hobbs, Eddie Andrews, Ken Wall, Eddie Wall, Loren Williamson and Jim Cowart.

Watson Lamar Samples, 65
METTER--Funeral for Watson Lamar Samples, 65, was held Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Canoochee Baptist Church in the Canoochee Community near Twin City. Burial was in Lake cemetery in Metter. He died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center.
A native of Candler County, Mr. Samples was a captain in the Medical Corps of the American Division of the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He earned a masters degree in education from Georgia Southern College. Before moving back to Metter in 1989, he was vice president and general manager of Cyprus Emerald Resource in Waynesburgh, Pa. He was former director of Risk Management for Emanuel County Schools and completed his term as chairman of Candler County Commissioners Dec. 31, 2004. He was currently administrative assistant to the Superintendent of Treutlen County Schools and pastor of Canoochee Baptist Church in Twin City.
Survivors include his wife, Laurita Jarriel Samples; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jonathan Lamar and Holly Samples, David Keith and Cindie Samples, all of Kingsport, Tenn.; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan Carol and David Alden of Kingsland; and six grandchildren, Seth and Miranda Alden, Hunter and Andrew Samples, Bailey and Kristin Samples.

Earl Andrew Price, 87
SWAINSBORO--Funeral for Earl Andrew Price, 87, will be held Wednesday, Jan. 19 ,2005 at 2 p.m. in the Bithynia Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Ronnie Webb officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He died Monday, Jan. 17, 2005 at his residence after an extended illness.
Mr. Price was a native of Johnson County and a World War II Army veteran. He was a retired fork lift operator with Continental Can, a member of Bithynia Primitive Baptist Church and a member of the Acacia Masonic Lodge # 452 F & AM.
Survivors include his wife, Debbie Johnson Price of Swainsboro; one sister, Sara Haley of Dublin; and one brother, Cecil Price of Garden City.
Pallbearers are David Price, Douglas Price, Johnny Haley, Sam Thompson, Billy Beacham and Ronnie Womack.
Honorary pallbearers are deacons of Bithynia Primitive Baptist Church.

Charlie “Frankie” Daniels, 62
STILLMORE--Funeral for Charlie Franklin “Frankie” Daniels, 62, was held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2005 at Morgan Family Funeral Home with Rev. George Archer officiating. Burial was in Cool Springs Cemetery. He died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005.
Mr. Daniels was an Emanuel County native and had lived all of his life in Stillmore, retiring from Twin City Manufacturing after 27 years. He was a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Vertie Mae Daniels of Stillmore; daughter Melissa Davis of Macon; stepdaughters Editha “Dot” Wright of Statesboro; and Clara Beaver of Salisbury, N.C.; stepsons James McNeal and Thomas McNeal of Stillmore; sisters Hazel Phillips and Frances Wilkes, all of Metter; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

C. Oliver Fruitticher, 88
SWAINSBORO--Funeral for C. Oliver Fruitticher, 88, was held Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Tomlinson Funeral Home with Rev. Nita Crump-Howard officiating. Burial was in Swainsboro City Cemetery. He died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005 at Emanuel County Nursing Home.
Mr. Fruitticher was a native of Bibb County and had lived in Swainsboro for the last 48 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church where he served on the administrative board and worked with United Methodist Church Youth Fellowship. He served as trustee at Franklin Memorial Library and was a member of Exchange Club, 55 Alive and a volunteer at Emanuel Medical Center. He was retired from McKesson and Robbins Drugs after 25 years of service and from Kemps Pharmacy in Claxton. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army, serving in the European Theater.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Bill Carmichael of Swainsboro; two brothers, Beverly E. Fruitticher of Macon; and Leroy J. Fruitticher of McDonough; a sister-in-law, Desiree Fruitticher of Newington; five grandchildren, Beth and Franklin Lamb of Statesboro; Lisa Carmichael of Swainsboro; and Katie and Jason Lawson of Watkinsville; a great-granddaughter, Katie Lamb of Statesboro; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Barton Fruitticher, Robert Fruitticher, Roy Thompson, Tommy Lamb, Mark Williams, Buddy Cobb, Danny Terry, Bill Roger Jr. and Tyson Stephens. Honorary pallbearers were Jay Youngblood, Ralph Foskey, Jay Lawson, M.L. Reid, Arvin Leonhard and Roy Clements.

Kathleen Moore Pitts, 69
SWAINSBORO--Funeral for Kathleen Moore Pitts, 69, was held Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005 at 2 p.m. at St. Phillips Baptist Church with Rev. Marque Johnson officiating and Rev. Gary Hackett assisting. Burial was in Swainsboro City Cemetery. She died Monday, Jan. 3, 2005.
Mrs. Pitts was born to the late Lee Moore Sr. and Georgie McDonald Moore on Jan. 17, 1935 in Eufaula, Ala. She attended Van Buren Street Elementary-High School and Monroe High School in Albany, Ga. where she graduated with honors in 1951. She received her B.S. degree from Albany State College in 1954 and a Double Masters degree from Columbia Teachers’ College in 1956. She was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. She was a retired exceptional education teacher. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Pitts; and a sister and four brothers.
Survivors include two children, Kathleen Lynette Laney of Columbia, S.C.; and Harrison Pitts of Swainsboro; two brothers, George Moore Sr. of LaGrange; and McDonald Moore Sr. of Mobile, Ala.; four sisters, Roxie Stewart of Durham, N.C.; Jannie Jackson and Alice Denson of Jacksonville, Fla.; Louis A. Marshall of Albany; and seven grandchildren.

Dr. Gerardo H. Guzman, 70
SWAINSBORO--Funeral for Dr. Gerardo H. Guzman, 70, was held Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005 at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Father Victor Subb and Father Brian LaBurt officiating. He died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005 at Fairview Park Hospital in Dublin after a brief illness.
Dr. Guzman was a native of Buga, Colombia, South America. He received his undergraduate degree from the Colegio Academico and his medical education from the Universidad de Valle. After his internship, he practiced family medicine in Colombia, South America for ten years. In 1972, he and his wife moved to the United States to further his medical career. Dr. Guzman began a rotating internship at Detroit Medical Hospital and served two years residency in Rehabilitation Medicine at Wayne State University Hospital, Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Guzman practiced family medicine in Soperton, GA and also served as physician for Treutlan County Shock Unit for several years. In May of 1982, Dr. Guzman opened his Family Practice, joined the staff at Emanuel Medical Center and later served as Chief of Staff of the emergency room. He was a member of the American Medical Association and the Latin American Medical Association and the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Swainsboro.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Guzman of Swainsboro; two daughters and a son-in-law, Angelica Guzman and John Rincon of North Berger, N.J.; and Cristina Guzman of Statesboro; two sisters, Dylia Guzman and Maria Cristina Guzman of Cali, Colombia; two brothers, Marino Guzman of Buga, Colombia and Dr. Luis Eduardo Guzman of Cali, Colombia.
Pallbearers were Diego Escobar, Juan Fernando Munoz, Fernando Jose Victoria, Rocky Brazzell, John Rincon, Dr. Leonardo Ardo Campo, Dr. James L. Ray and Walter Mann. Honorary pallbearer is Nathan Hale.

Rev. Otto Robinson Jr., 73
VIDALIA--Funeral for Rev. Otto Robinson Jr., 73, was held Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Murchison Funeral Home with Rev. Dan Love and Rev. Mike Poppell officiating. Burial was in Pinecrest Cemetery. He died Friday. Jan. 14, 2005 at Meadows Regional Medical Center in Vidalia after an extended illness.
Rev. Robinson was a native of Montgomery County and was a pastor for 51 years and pastored the Vidalia, Lyons, Reidsville Church of God of Prophecy and worked with Oxford Industries for about 30 years. He served as district superintendent for the Church of God of Prophecy in the Vidalia District, was member of Church of God Prophecy in Lyons and of Toombs County Ministerial Association and was a volunteer chaplain with Meadows Regional Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Dallas A. Robinson of Vidalia; a daughter, Brenda Crews of Swainsboro; a son, Ken Robinson of Tifton; a sister, Mary M. Mooney of Stafford, Va.; a brother, J.B. Robinson of Vidalia; and four grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Byron Robinson, Jerry Love, Roy Padgett St., Danny Beverly, Robert Hammock and Greg Morris.

Robert E. Edenfield, 85
GLENNVILLE--Funeral for Robert E. Edenfield, 85, was held Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel of Savannah. Burial was in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with military honors. He died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005 at his residence in Glennville.
Mr. Edenfield was born in Swainsboro and lived in Savannah for many years before moving to Glennville 30 years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II where he served in the 428th Military Police EC Company and took part in the Normandy Invasion. He was a long distance truck driver for 64 years, retiring from G&R; Farms of Glennville. He was an avid hunter and member of Crossroad Hunting Club in Long County. He was a Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his daughters, Patricia E. Beasley of Rincon; and Sandra E. Coleman of Tybee Island; a son, Charles R. Edenfield of Guyton; a sister, Louise Overstreet of Swainsboro; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Jeff Fortson, Bradford Edenfield, Timothy Beasley, Tim Beasley, Joshua Beasley and James Driggers.

Ronnie Martin Brady, 58
HIGGSTON--Funeral for Ronnie Martin Brady, 58, was held Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Peebles-Curry-Durden Mortuary with Rev. Herbert Toole and Rev. Bruce Tanner officiating. Burial was in the Gumlog Primitive Baptist Church cemetery near Kite. He died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005 at his residence after an extended illness.
Mr. Brady was a native of Emanuel County. He was son of the late Joe and Bell Martin Brady and was of the Pentecostal Holiness faith.
Survivors include one daughter, Brittany Brady of Twin City; two sons, Ronnie Martin Smith Brady of Meeks; and Ronald Brady of Augusta; two sisters, Sherry Beasley of Claxton; and Zora Ann Collins of Vidalia; two brothers, Talmadge W. Brady of Higgston; and Joe W. Brady, Jr. of Middleport, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Ronnie Smith and Kyle Smith of Meeks; several nieces and nephews.

Eunice Cynthia Pierre, 52
ST. AUGUSTINE, FLA.--Funeral services for Eunice Cynthia Pierre, 52, were held Dec. 28, 2004 in St. Augustine, Fla. at Craig’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was held in San Lorenzo cemetery in St. Augustine. She died Dec. 22, 2004 at University Hospital in Augusta, Ga.
Mrs. Pierre (Cindy) was born Dec. 18, 1952 in St. Augustine, Fla. where she worked as an office manager, cashier and tour guide before moving to Swainsboro with her husband in 1997. She spent the rest of her life here as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Pierre was preceded in death by a son, Ryan Paul Pierre.
Survivors include her husband, Paul F. Pierre; two daughters, Michelle Cruz and Susan Coleman; two sons, Richard Pierre and Steven Pierre; and five wonderful grandchildren, all of whom reside in Emanuel County.
Pallbearers were Jeff Osborne, Bruce Taylor, Chris Manucy, Brad Manucy, Joey Lundquist and Trey Osborne.

Donald Ray Moxley, 62
DUBLIN--Memorial service for Donald Ray Moxley, 62, was held Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Sammons Funeral Home in Soperton with Rev. Albert White Jr. officiating. He died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005.
Mr. Moxley was a native of Treutlen County and was the son of the late James W. and Mettie Phillips Moxley. He was an industrial electrician and a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Kay Moxley; two daughters, Melynda White of Soperton; and Melanie Leckwert of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Jimmy Moxley of Seneca, S.C.; Phil Moxley of Vidalia; and eight grandchildren.

Beulah W. Sanders
SWAINSBORO--Funeral for Beulah W. Sanders was held Thursday, Dec. 30, 2004 at 1 p.m. at Trinity Baptist Church with Rev. James Brooks officiating. Burial was in Swainsboro City Cemetery. She died Dec. 24, 2004 after a extended illness.
Mrs. Sanders was the daughter of the late John and Mary Wadley. She was a native of Emanuel County and a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Annie Mae Wadley, Ruth Wadley, Rodessa Wadley, Cliffie Wadley and Linnia Wadley; and a brother, John Wadley Jr.
Survivors include three daughters, Annie Willie Rainey, Elnita Sanders and Rosie Freeman, all of Swainsboro; two sons, Van Wadley and Arther Lee Sanders, both of Swainsboro; 15 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 41 great-great-grandchildren.
