Mr. Jack L. Conduff of Peachtree City died October 31, 2007. Jack retired from NCR with 42 years of service. Jack was an Army Veteran and a member of the Jaycees having served as President of the Miamisburg Ohio Chapter. In 1966 he received the Outstanding Service Award to Chapter and Community and in 1968 he received the Appreciation Award for Devoted Effort. Frank Soldovere
Frank Soldovere, 66 of Peachtree City died peacefully with his family by his side on October 31, 2007. Born July 9, 1941 and raised in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of Francis and Josephine Soldovere. Married 42 years to the love of his life Angie, Frank was also a wonderful Father, Father-in-law, Brother-in-law, Uncle, Grandfather and friend to many. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Brooklyn College in Brooklyn, NY and also served his country as a member of the New York Army National Guard completing basic training at Fort Benning. An active member in his church, Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Peachtree City, Frank was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus at Chapter 8081. He was also an avid golfer and member of Flat Creek Golf Club where he enjoyed golfing with friends and family including his son-in-law's Jay, Russell, Lee and Grand-son Brendan. Frank grew up in Brooklyn and lived the early years of his marriage in New York. He spent his entire 38 year career in the service of others as a Certified Association Executive. He began his career with the American Heart Association and worked in offices of the association before becoming National Director of Volunteer activities in 1977. He served as the Association's chief Corporate Liaison and implemented the first nationwide special event, Jump Rope for Heart. In 1981, he joined the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation as Director of Fund Raising where he developed and implemented a nation-wide fund raising program increasing national funds 50% to $25 million. In 1983 he was promoted to Vice President of Field Operations where he designed and implemented a program which transformed 60 autonomous chapters into one corporate network. In 1986 Frank then began a nine-year career as Executive Director of the American Kidney Fund. While there, he supervised a staff of 27 directors, managers, and staff. He also introduced a comprehensive fund raising development strategy that increased annual income from $2.1 million to $5.5 million. In 1996, Frank joined the Alzheimer's Association as the National Vice President of Chapter Services. He developed and implemented a grant program for the chapters. The annual income in the field increased 25% to $60 million in just two years. He also established a training program for new and continuing Chapter Executives. A member and board member of the American Academy of Kidney Patients, he also helped author the Transplant Patient's Bill of Rights. He was also a member of GASE. Frank devoted his entire life to helping others overcome the medical challenges placed before them. His greatest pleasure was spending time with his family, first and foremost his beloved wife and high school sweetheart Angie. He is survived by and will be greatly missed by his three daughters; Gina, Nikki, and Krissy and their husbands; Russell, Jay, and Lee. He was known to his 8 Grandchildren as 'Pop' and they will miss playing games, cards, and having fun with their 'Pop'. Grand Children include Brendan, Lauren, Brianna, Brooke, Bridget, Claire, Olivia, and Ben. Mother-in-Law Ann Portanova, Brother and Sister-in-Law Lou and Rose Portanova, nieces Lisa, Rene, and Nicole.

Sandra VanLandingham, Sister of former Fayette County Commissioner A.G. VanLandingham
Mrs. Sandra VanLandingham, 68, of Fayetteville, died Saturday December 29, 2007 from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. She was an active member of Liberty Baptist Church. She was a lifetime employee of State Farm Insurance Company. After retirement, she worked as an arson investigator and was a member of the Georgia Fire Investigators Association.
She was preceded in death by her parents Bonnie & Charlie B. Pinkney, her sister Llewellyn Shehane, and her brother A.G. VanLandingham. She is survived by her brother Johnny & Evelyn VanLandingham of Roseville, CA; sister Melba & E.J. Scott of Iron City, GA; sister-in-law Sandra Jo VanLandingham of Fayetteville, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 1, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Liberty Baptist Church. Dr. Randy Wood will officiate. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 12:00 to 2:00 at the church prior to the service. Burial will follow at Camp Memorial Park.

James (Jim) Care
Mr. James D. (Jim) Care of Peachtree City passed away December 17, 2007. He was a veteran of Viet Nam having served in the United States Marines and was a member of the Southern Nights Chorale Group. Mr. Care was a pilot for Eastern Airlines for 26 years and he retired from Delta Airlines as a Flight Dispatcher with 14 years of service. Most recently Mr. Care had worked with Talbot State Bank in Peachtree City. He is survived by his wife of 40 years Denise M. (Denny) Care of Peachtree City; children, Cathy Vivanco of Cumming, GA, Maggie Bennett of Gainesville, GA, Carolyn Taraboletti of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Danny Care of Smyrna, GA; grandchildren, Alex, Abbey, Mac, Harper, Adrian, James, Joe, Anna, Oliver; sister, Susan Hollis of Cherokee Village, AR; nieces and nephews. Helene Alice Stanziale
Helene Alice Stanziale, 67, Sharpsburg, died peacefully November 13, 2007 in the company of her family. Helene was born May 20th, 1940 in Clifton, New Jersey, but has lived locally for 27 years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her life centered around her service to others and reflected her sweet, giving spirit. She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi service sorority, All Saints Anglican Church, and volunteered for many years at Newnan Hospital and at local schools. She is survived by Rick Stanziale, her husband of 43 years, her children, Rick and Elizabeth Stanziale of Jefferson, Georgia, Russ and Lea Stanziale of Cumming, Geogia, and Chrissy and Matt O'Neal of Peachtree City, Georgia. Her grandchildren include Dominick, Olivia, Christopher, Claudia, Jackson, Gracen, Mitchell and Eden.

Douglas Danforth
Douglas Francis Danforth, 37, of Senoia died November 8, 2007. He was a combat veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the lst Calvary division in Desert Storm. He worked as a radiology technologist at the Atlanta Medical Center, was an avid golfer, and was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Mr. Danforth is survived by his wife Shawn Danforth; daughter Caitlin; parents Bill 'Linc' and Nancy Danforth of Fayetteville, GA; brother Bill Danforth, III of Fayetteville, NC; sister Shannon Danforth of Chicago, IL; niece Taylor and nephew Will; parents-in-law Douglas and Barbara Treadway of Fayetteville, GA; and brother-in-law Doug Treadway of Inman, SC. Daniel J. Lakly
Fayette State Representative Daniel J. Lakly of Peachtree City, GA passed away October 29, 2007. Mr. Lakly served Fayette County as Representative of District 72. He was born August 8, 1942 in Forest Hills, PA. He joined the U. S. Navy in 1959 where he served aboard the USS Howard D. Crow. He was stationed outside Guantanamo Bay during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was discharged in 1963 and served in the Merchant Marine. Dan looked up his childhood sweetheart and married
Donna Lee in 1967. He lived in Pittsburgh, PA Cleveland, OH Warrensville Heights, OH, Philadelphia, PA, Honolulu, HI before settling in Peachtree City in 1978 where he loved his gardens. Dan won his first City Counsil seat in 1986 in Peachtree City where he served until 1987. He served on the Fayette County Commission from 1988 until 1992. He served as State Representative from 1992 until 1998 and again 2004 until present. He has run over a dozen campaigns, often doing everything himself and with the help of his family. Dan was a dedicated public servant, always wanting to better his community thru service in Kiwanis, the VFW and American Legion. A fiery speaker, he never passed up a chance to go to the well, and never spoke with notes but stright from the heart.
Mr. Lakly is survived by his wife of 40 years, Donna Lee Lakly of Peachtree City; sons, whom he was most proud of, Daniel Steven Lakly of Decatur, David Lee Lakly of Peachtree City, Donald Joseph Lakly of Athens; his grandsons seemed to mellow his temperament, Connor James Lakly, John Michael Lakly, Benjamin John Lakly, Andrew Robert Lakly; siblings, Caroline Kuchar of Pittsburgh, PA, Helen Marie Schlabach of Phoenix, AZ, George Matthew Lakly, Jr. of Pittsburgh, PA, Mary Jane Green of Phoenix, AZ, Timothy Raymond Lakly of Tampa, FL; nieces and nephews.
