John Franklin Johnston, 76, of Villa Rica died Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Jones-Wynn Funeral Home, Inc., Cremation Service and Memorial Gardens of Villa Rica.
Leander Adams Jr.
Leander Charles Adams, Jr., 70, of Douglasville, died Sunday, Oct. 2, 2011.
He was born March 16, 1941, in Newark, N.J., son of the late Leander Adams Sr. and Elsie Anderson Adams. Mr. Adams was a retired manager with Federal Express. He was an elder at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses and a counselor/mentor for teenagers.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Adams of Douglasville; children, Michelle Green and her husband Robert of San Bernardino, Calif., Michael Adams of Newark, N.J., Leander Adams III and his wife, Star, of Douglasville, Karen Blackman of Newark, N.J.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brother, Bruce Adams of Portland, Ore.; sister Constance Johnson and her husband, Eddie of Jacksonville, Fla.; numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, Oct. 7, 2011, from 5 to 8 p.m.
The funeral service will be Saturday, Oct. 8, 2011, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Rosehaven Memorial Park.

Kathleen Cuendet
Kathleen K. Cuendet, age 85, formerly of Gulfport, Mississippi, passed away on Saturday, April 21, 2012 in Palatka, Florida at the Haven Hospice Roberts Care Home, of natural causes after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Newton, Mississippi on February 21, 1927. She was a life-long resident of Gulfport where she was a charter member of Gulf Gardens Baptist Church. She moved to Douglasville in 2006 with her son, Robert, where she became a member of Douglasville Baptist Temple. Mrs. Cuendet moved to Middleburg, Florida in 2011 to live with her daughter Jean.
Mrs. Cuendet was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Cora Kenneth; her brother, Sam Kenneth, Jr.; and her husband, Louis A. Cuendet, Jr.
She is survived by her four children, Louis A. and Kathy Cuendet, III of Franklin, GA, Pat & Harry Hancock of Beloit, OH, Barbara Jean and Tommy Williams of Middleburg, FL and Robert P. and Lori Cuendet of Douglasville. She is also survived by her ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and her sister, Polly & Bill Bogle of El Paso, TX.
Friends are invited to join the Cuendet family for visitation from 9 until 11 a.m., Friday, April 27 at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. iIntermentwill be at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
The family request donations are made in her honor to the American Heart Association or to Haven Hospice, 6400 St. Johns Ave., Palatka, FL 32177, where Mrs. Cuendet spend her final days.

Mrs. Sylvia Williams of Douglasville passed away June 20, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan W. Williams Jr. and is survived by his daughters, Sabrina Maier and her husband, Thomas of Raeford, N.C.; Ashley Williams of Douglasville; mother, Sylvia Holder and her husband, Jack of Douglasville; brother, Richard Lambert and his wife, Christine of Douglasville; grandson, Michael Williams.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 25, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Parrott Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Rice officiating. iIntermentwill follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery.

Alice Henslee
Mrs. Alice Matilda Hasford Henslee, age 86, of Villa Rica, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012. She was born on Oct. 5, 1925, in Paulding County, the daughter of the late Jim and Farie Tibbetts Hasford. She worked for a short period of time at the Atlanta West Hospital in the Housekeeping Department and has primarily been a homemaker. She was a member of the Ephesus Baptist Church in Winston.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Henslee; sons, Hubert Verlon Henslee, Kenny Melvin Henslee and Jerry Mac Henslee; sisters, Lessie Gibson and Jewell Cartte; brother, Leon Hasford.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn Marie and Billy Hulsey of Villa Rica; grandchildren, Ronnie Henslee, Tony Henslee, Cindy Miller, Jay Henslee, Jeff Henslee and Becky Mooney; 8 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, at 2 p.m. from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Dr. Billy Godwin officiating. Richa Stephens will deliver the Eulogy.
iIntermentwill follow in the Ephesus Baptist Church cemetery with Justin and Richa Stephens, Danny Harding, Larry Henslee, Jeff Henslee and Will serving as Pallbearers.

Maria Francesca Payton Matthews, age 50, of Douglasville passed away Saturday, September 22, 2012. She was born January 15, 1962 in Fulton County to Barbara Cook Payton and the late Melvin L. Payton. She worked as an administrative professional for Automated Print and was a member of The Cartersville Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her father, Melvin L. Payton and her brother, Leslie Melvin Payton.
She is survived by her mother, Barbara Cook Payton of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Joe Pace of Carrollton.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 from Hightower’s Memorial Chapel with Minister Mike Gifford officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the funeral home.
According to her wishes her body will be cremated.

Obituary: Mr. David Jerome Reeves, 58, of Bremen, Georgia passed away Saturday, April 15, 2006 at his residence. He was born December 21, 1947, in Haralson County, Georgia. He was the son of John Thomas Reeves and Rosalie Rebecca Bolden Reeves. Mr. Reeves was of the Baptist faith. He worked as an electrician at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Georgia. Survivors include his daughters Deborah Jill Starnes of Bremen and Jennifer Michelle Reeves of Plano, Texas; his mother, Rosalie Rebecca Bolden Reeves of Bremen and his father, John Thomas Reeves of Bremen; and 2 grandchildren also survive.
