Willa Mae Jones, 87, of Lula, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at the residence of her daughter following an extended illness.
Mrs. Jones was a native of Murray County and had lived in Lumpkin County most of her life. She was a member of Emanuel Gospel Fellowship and a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James F. Jones; son, J.D. Jones; daughter, Julie Fay Holloway; grandson, Thomas Jones; and great-grandson, Mitchell Souders.
Survivors include her sons, Eulie Jones, Summerville, Bob Jones, John Jones and Ronnie Jones, all of Dahlonega, Joe Jones, Lula, and Bill Jones, Danville; daughters, Marie Broome and Nell McDougald, both of Lula, Rosetta Welch, Benton, Tenn., Eva Davenport and Frankie Eisenhour, both of Chatsworth, and Myrtle Roberts, Dalton; 16 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Services were held May 23 at Strickland Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike Franklin officiating. Burial followed in Westview Cemetery, Lula.

Carl Randall Pressley
Carl Randall Pressley, 54, of GainesviIle, died Thursday, May 22, 2003, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following a sudden illness.
A native of Jackson County, he had lived most of his life in Hall County. He had worked for more than 20 years at Georgia Chair Company.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Maggie Pressley; brother, Jerry Pressley; and one grandchild.
Survivors include his daughters, Deborah Collins, Oakwood, Carlette Pressley, Gainesville; son, Paul Pressley, Gainesville; sisters, Elaine Martin, North Carolina, Paulette Stewart, Jefferson, Barbara Cochran, Ann Hewell, Cathy Norris, Deborah Goforth, all of Gainesville; brothers, Sammy Pressley, Maysville, Larry Pressley, Gainesville Mill, Stanley Pressley, Homer, Ray Pressley, Tadmore, Ronnie Pressley, Gainesville, and Eddie Pressley, Dahlonega; mother of his children, Daisy Tur; and four grandchildren.
Services were held May 24 at Little Davenport Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Gaines officiating. Burial followed in Alta Vista Cemetery.

Marvin Edward Webb
Marvin Edward Webb, 35, of Clermont, died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center following injuries sustained in a car accident.
He was born in Hammond, Ind., but had lived in Hall County for some time. He was employed by Makita Tool Co. in Buford and was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Webb, Clermont; children, Michael Webb, Toccoa, and Erica Webb, Gainesville; stepchildren, Amber Jones and Dustin Jones, both of Clermont; mother and stepfather, Mary and Jack Hogan, Athens; sisters, Regina Means, Hull, and Melissa Hicks, Gainesville; and brother, Bobby Hicks, Gainesville.
Services were held May 24 at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dwayne Smith and the Rev. Gary O'Steen officiating. Burial followed in Memorial Park South Cemetery.

WiIIiam Marvin Wheeler
Dr. William Marvin Wheeler, 87, of Clermont, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center's Lanier Park campus following an extended illness.
Dr. Wheeler was a lifelong resident of Hall County. He was a member of Wahoo Baptist Church most of his life and pastored nine different churches in Hall and surrounding counties.
He was married
to Pauline Gilstrap Wheeler for 66 years.
He retired from the ministry at the age of 82.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline Gilstrap Wheeler, Clermont; son, Earl Wheeler, MurrayviIle; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Services were held May 23 at Wahoo Baptist Church with the Rev. Mark Wheeler, the Rev. Dean Bryant, the Rev. Guy Lee and the Rev. Mark Stroud officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Scott Anderson

Scott Anderson, 38, of Dahlonega, and his wife, Shawna Anderson, 27, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, in Hall County from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Scott Anderson was born in Hall County March 27, 1965. He lived all of his life in Lumpkin County. He was a poultry farmer. He was a member of Hightower Baptist Church in Lumpkin County and attended Antioch Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, T.J. Cain Sr. and Elmer Anderson.
He is survived by his father and stepmother, Tony and Susan Anderson, Dahlonega; mother and stepfather, Sue and Albert Sykes, Gainesville; stepson, Cody Overby, Dahlonega; grandmothers, Dorothy Cain, Willie Mae Anderson, both of Dahlonega; four stepsisters; two stepbrothers; and numerous other relatives.
Shawna Anderson was born in Hall County Dec. 26, 1975 and lived most of her life in Lumpkin County. She was a homemaker and attended Antioch Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.
She was the daughter of the late Brenda Edmondson.
She is survived by her son: Cody Overby, Dahlonega; grandmother, Blanche Grannis, New Castle, Penn.; great-grandmother, Lillie Gooch, Dahlonega; aunt, Thelma Reid, Dahlonega; and several other relatives.
Joint funeral services for Mr. and Mrs. Anderson were held Nov. 29 at Antioch Baptist Church in Lumpkin County with the Rev. Clifford Allen and the Rev. Lyman Caldwell officiating. Burial followed in Antioch cemetery in Lumpkin County.

Sue Gim

Mrs. Sue Gim, 45, of Dahlonega died Saturday, Nov. 29 at DeKalb General Hospital, following a yearlong struggle with cancer.
She is survived by her husband, Paul, son, So Mang (Roy) and daughter, So Young (Regina).
Mrs. Gim immigrated to the United States 18 years ago from Korea.
She settled in Atlanta, where she met and married
Paul Gim. They moved to Dahlonega eight years ago.
The Gim family owns and operates Classic Cleaners at 235 East Main Street.
Mrs. Gim was buried on Dec. 2 at Georgia Memorial Park cemetery in Marietta. A community memorial service is scheduled for Wednesday, December 3rd, 5:00 p.m. at Dahlonega United Methodist Church.

Mr. Damon Rowe 'Jack' Wiley, 75, of Dahlonega, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at his residence following an extended illness.
He was a native of Hall County and had lived in Lumpkin County the past 42 years. He worked with the Lumpkin County Road Department and was of the Baptist faith.
He was the son of the late Buford and Ora Wiley and was also preceded in death by his sisters, Lunell Kirby, Grace Farr, Janett Wiley; and brothers, E.M. Wiley, Golden Wiley, Buford Wiley Jr.
He is survived by his wife, Annie Sue Jones Wiley, Dahlonega; sisters, Ruby Armour, Lula, Omizell Cantrell, Oakwood; and brothers, Nelson Wiley, Alto.
Services were held Nov. 26 at Damascus Baptist Church in Lumpkin County with the Rev. Charles Allison and the Rev. Jack Enloe officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Parks was born in Jackson County May 28, 1918. She was a homemaker and member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Lumpkin County.
She was the daughter of the late Charlie and Julie Phillips Bryant, and was also preceded in death by brothers C.H. Bryant, Otis Roscoe Bryant, Garth Bryant; sisters, Evon Bryant Hogan, Juanita Bryant Pursley; half-sister: Florence Cash; and half-brothers, Lillious Bryant, Ellis Bryant, Lester Bryant.
