Pauline Marler Hopkins
WARE, S.C. - Funeral services for Pauline Marler Hopkins, 79, formerly of Alto, were held Monday, July 30, at 2 p.m. at Parker White Funeral Home. The Revs. Chris Stansell and Leon Brown officiated, with burial following in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Hopkins died at her home early Saturday, July 28, 2001.
The widow of John Frank Hopkins Jr., she was born in Union County to the late Herbert Lewis and Alma Knighten Marler. She was retired from Riegel Textile Corp. in Alto, and was a member of Alto Congregational Holiness Church.
Survivors include sons, Raymond Hopkins of Hartwell, John Frank Hopkins III of Ware Shoals, S.C.; daughters, Polly Ann Hendricks of Ware Shoals, S.C., and Barbara Jo Bannister of Iva, S.C.; 21 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Ted T. Gerrin
Funeral services for Ted T. Gerrin, 62, of Cornelia, were held Monday, July 30, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home. The Revs. Ronald Mote and Terry Rice officiated, with burial following in the Bethel Temple Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery.
Mr. Gerrin died Saturday, July 28, 2001, at Well Star Cobb Hospital following an extended illness.
He was preceded in death by a brother, R.B. Gerrin.
Mr. Gerrin was born in Habersham County on Aug. 28, 1938. He was the son of the late Robert B. and Ruby Elrod Gerrin. He was self-employed and was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include a daughter, Victoria Brown of Cumming; brother, Harold Gerrin of Baldwin; and sister, Jean Black of Demorest.

Emmie Irene Smith
Funeral services for Emmie Irene Smith, 90, of Cornelia, will be held Wednesday, Aug. 1, at 11 a.m., at the First Baptist Church of Cornelia. Dr. T. Logan Smith, Dr. Truett Gannon and Dr. Bradley Courtney will officiate, with burial to follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Smith died Saturday, July 28, 2001, at a private care home following an extended illness.
Born on Dec. 10, 1910, in Ashburn, she was the daughter of the late Solomon Oscar and Liza Anna McCorvey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry A. Smith.
She and her husband operated the Western Union Telegraph office in Cornelia and Toccoa. Mrs. Smith was a member of First Baptist Church of Cornelia, where she was also a member of the Volunteer Sunday School Class and WMU.
Survivors include a daughter, Ann Smith McShaffrey of New Jersey; son, Henry A.M. Smith of Snellville; sisters, Sylvia Futch of Valdosta, Dorothy Herring of Nashville, Tenn.; brother, Ralph McCorvey of Jacksonville, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest today from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.

Bobby L. Trotter
Memorial services for Bobby L. Trotter, 64, of Cornelia were held Monday, Feb. 4, at 3 p.m. at Cool Springs United Methodist Church. The Rev. Bill Trotter officiated.
Mr. Trotter died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, following a brief illness.
Born in Habersham County on Nov. 20, 1937, he was the son of the late Levi Cecil Trotter. He worked in housekeeping at Habersham County Medical Center, and was of the Protestant faith.
Survivors include his wife, Imogene Purdy Trotter of Cornelia; daughters, Brenda T. Merck of Mt. Airy, Wanda Carrett of Oakwood, Julie Murray of Baldwin; sons, Bobby Winifred Trotter of Demorest, Steve B. Trotter of Clarkesville; mother, Bonnie Waters Trotter of Clarkesville; brothers, Billy L. Trotter of Clarkesville, Charles H. Trotter of Cleveland, Marvin C. Trotter of Cornelia; sisters, Helen Rogers of Cleveland, Betty Jean Dube of Clermont; seven grandchildren.

Fred (Ben) Wylie
Funeral services for Fred Marshall (Ben) Wylie, 81, of Buford were held Sunday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Tapp Funeral Home. The Rev. Ron Cope and Mr. Edward Adams officiated with burial in Broadlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Wylie died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002.
Mr. Wylie was a native of Hall County, a brick mason and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his daughter, Shelia Gorsick of Buford; sons, Kenneth Wylie of Alto, Gary Wylie of Homer, Wayne Wylie of Cleveland; brothers, Gene Wylie and Ralph Wylie, both of Buford; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

Eugene M. Adler
No local services are scheduled for Eugene M. Adler, 85, of Clarkesville.
Mr. Adler died Thursday, Jan. 31, 2002, at a personal care home following an extended illness.
Mr. Adler was born on April 13, 1916, in Dane County, Wis. He was the son of the late John J. and Margaret Seaman Adler and was preceded in death by son, Ronald Adler. He was retired and was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred A. Drives Adler of Clarkesville; daughters, Kay A. Black of Clarkesville, Sandy Shultz of Quartz Hill, Calif.; sisters, Leola Kahl of Middleton, Wis.; Rosie Dahmen of Monroe, Wis.; Agatha Adler of Milwaukee, Wis.; brother, Harold Adler of Middleton, Wis.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.

Charlotte Dorcas Burnett Thomas
Funeral services for Charlotte Dorcas Burnett Thomas, 93, of Clarkesville were held Monday, June 10, at 11 a.m. at Harvest Christian Church, with the Rev. Lamar Garrison officiating. A graveside service was held at Westview cemetery in Atlanta at 3 p.m.; the Rev. Dr. George Wascovich and the Rev. Dr. James Sosebee officiated.
Mrs. Thomas died Thursday, June 6, 2002, at Habersham Home following an extended illness.
Born on June 24, 1908, she was the daughter of the late Richard Andrew and Ruth Curtis Burnett and a native of Atlanta.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Brower B. 'Tommy' Thomas; children, Joyce Thomas Fuller, B.B. 'Ted' Thomas Jr.; and brothers, Richard A. Burnett Jr., and William Burnett.
Mrs. Thomas graduated from Washington Seminary in Atlanta and was a teacher with the Atlanta school system. She was a lifetime member and deaconess of the First Christian Church of Atlanta, and an associate member of Harvest Christian Church of Clarkesville. She was a member of the Northeast Georgia Prayer Group, Georgia Retired Teacher's Association, American Red Cross Volunteers, Habersham County Medical Center Auxiliary, and Sharing and Caring Place.
Survivors include her grandchildren, Lynn Thomas Judd of Bluffton, S.C.; Richard Burnett Thomas of Arkadelphia, Ark.; Elizabeth Fuller Oliver Klinger of Birmingham, Ala.; Catherine Thomas Conner of LaGrange, Ky.; Clayton Jarrett Thomas of Dahlonega; and nine great-grandchildren.

Vance E. Gunter
Funeral services for Vance E. Gunter, 76, of Lula were held Saturday, June 8, at 11 a.m. at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel. The Rev. Sanford Kimbrell officiated with burial in Westview Cemetery, Lula.
Mr. Gunter died Wednesday, June 5, 2002, at his residence following a sudden illness.
Born in White County on Sept. 24, 1925, he was a son of the late Elmer and Mary Skelton Gunter. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Fred Gunter, Ray Gunter, Charlie Gunter, Vernon Gunter.
Mr. Gunter was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was a retired farmer and was disabled. Mr. Gunter was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sister, Louise Campbell of Lula; brothers, Ralph Gunter of Lula, Eugene Gunter of Gastonia, N.C., Guy Gunter of Lula; special niece, Nikki Gunter of Lula.

Fanneal Gailey Boling
HOMER - Funeral services for Fanneal Gailey Boling, 89, of Homer will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, at Charity Baptist Church with the Rev. Vaughn Howington and the Rev. Billy Burrell officiating. Burial will follow in the Damascus Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Boling died Monday, June 10, 2002, at Habersham County Medical Center.
Born on April 7, 1913, in Banks County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas B. and Lucy Lane Gailey.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Boling; son, Dwayne Robert Boling; brother, Garland Gailey; and sisters, Fay Gailey and Jeanette Samples.
Mrs. Boling was a teacher at Rock Springs School and was a homemaker. She was a Sunday School teacher and a Bible School teacher, and was a member of Charity Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Ernest Rogers and Jane and Larry Maney, all of Baldwin; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Glenda Boling of Homer and Dan and Gail Boling of Baldwin; sister, Vernell Wilbanks of Claxton; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel in Baldwin from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today.
