Nicholas Mark Brine
WINDER - Funeral services for Nicholas Mark Brine, 46, of Winder, were held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, at Smith Memory Chapel in Winder.
Mr. Brine died Sunday, Aug. 22, 2004.
He was born in Braknell, England, and was a Christian.
Survivors include his parents, Patrick and Frances Clark Brine of Cornelia; his wife, Darlene Brine of Winder; daughters, Nicole and Kelly Brine of Winder; a sister, Christine Ramsey of Cornelia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wiley Tives Canup
Funeral services for Wiley Tives Canup, 73, of Clarkesville will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at Hillside Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Chris York officiating. Burial will follow in Demorest City Cemetery.
Mr. Canup died Thursday morning, Aug. 19, 2004, at his Clarkesville residence following an extended illness.
Born on July 3, 1931, he was the son of the late Van and Annie Cantrell Canup. Mr. Canup was a lifelong resident of Habersham County. He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving with Tank Company 351 during the Korean Conflict. He was a Baptist.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Canup is preceded in death by his brothers, Earl, Shay, Vance, Herman and Kenny Canup; sisters, Annie Bell Skelton, Irene Tench, Etta Maxwell and Ruby Free.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret Bramlett Canup of Clarkesville; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. today, Aug. 20.

Radie Ruth Sutton Davis
Funeral services for Radie Ruth Sutton Davis, 72, of the Batesville community in Clarkesville, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, at Providence Baptist Church in Batesville with Dr. Don Drawdy and the Rev. John Humphries officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Davis died Monday morning, Aug. 16, 2004, at her residence following a sudden illness.
Born Jan. 26, 1932, in Rabun County, she was the daughter of the late Jess H. and Ella Mae Eller Wall. She was a homemaker and a member of Providence Baptist Church. She loved spending time with her family and she also enjoyed working in her gardens. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Ralph Sutton.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Jim Head of Clarkesville; sons and daughters-in-law, Grady and Pat Sutton, Gary and Rhonda Sutton, Jimmy and Susan Sutton, and Johnny and Deborah Sutton, all of Clarkesville; brother, Willard Wall of Clarkesville; sister, Lizzie Howell of Atlanta; 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Dorothy 'Dot' E. Blair
Funeral services for Dorothy "Dot" E. Blair, 83, of Franklin, Tenn., and formerly of Mt. Airy, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 20, at Level Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Rice officiating. Burial will follow in Hazel Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Blair died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004.
Born in Macon County, N.C., on Jan. 8, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Charles Smith Grindstaff and Berdale West Grindstaff. She was a homemaker and a member of Level Grove Baptist Church and the Adam and Eve Sunday School Class. She was a former member of Ball Ground Baptist Church and Women's Ministries.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas J. Blair of Franklin, Tenn.; daughter, Rebecca Jane Payne of Franklin, Tenn.; son, Charles William "Bill" Blair of Conyers; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Robert Daniel Williams Sr.
Robert Daniel "R.D." "Dan" Williams Sr., of Elberton will be held at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 20, at Memorial Chapel of Berry Funeral Home in Elberton with the Rev. Steve Fenlon officiating. Burial will be in Elmhurst cemetery in Elberton.
Mr. Williams died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, at his son's residence in Sautee-Nacoochee.
Born in Spalding County, he was a son of the late Carl Carter Williams and Hazel May Jones Williams. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Thelma Hill Williams. He served in the CCC at Warm Springs from 1934-1936 and was a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II. He retired after 35 years as an insurance salesman for National Life and Accident Insurance Co., and was a member of Elberton First Baptist Church.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Ann L. and Dave Bicknell of Rockland, Maine; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert Daniel Williams Jr. and Dianne Williams of Dewy Rose, and John Douglas and Dale Williams of Sautee-Nacoochee; sisters, Marie Thompson of Haralson and Jeanette Storey of Alpharetta; brother, Reuben Williams of Senoia; 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Garner died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, at his Cleveland residence following a sudden illness.
Born April 14, 1947, in Habersham County, he was the son of the late J.D. "Dock" Garner and the late Agnes Ione Taylor Garner. Mr. Garner was a U.S. Navy veteran and was a security guard at the Sky Lake Resort Community in White County. He was a Baptist.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Garner was preceded in death by a brother, B.J. Garner.
Survivors include his daughters, Renee Hudgins of Columbia, S.C., and Jandale Davis of Ridgeland, S.C.; a son, Richard James Knox of Richmond Hill; a brother, Jim Garner of Clarkesville; sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara Jean and J.R. Wood of Clarkesville, Betty Lou and Felton Ferguson of Cleveland, Carol and Ralph Kimbrell of Cornelia; sister, Cathy Clark of Hollywood; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services for Vernon George Garner 78, of Cleveland and formerly of Marietta, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Aug. 20, at the chapel of McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Palmer and the Rev. Henry Grady Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Garner died Wednesday, Aug. 18, 2004, at a private healthcare facility following an extended illness.
Born in White County on Nov. 7, 1925, he was the son of the late Ernest and Lessie Dalton Garner. He was a construction worker who enjoyed boating and skiing and was a Baptist. He was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Garner.
Survivors include a son, Douglas Garner of Marietta; brothers, Ezra L. Garner and Jerry Garner, both of Cleveland; sisters, Allene Stovall of Gainesville, Louella Garner Barrett of Cornelia, Katie Jean Pitts of Demorest and Barbara Palmer of Cleveland, and two grandchildren.

Harry Heard
Funeral services for Harry Heard, 101, of Cornelia, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 19, at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Mt. Airy with the Rev. Oliver Dorsey officiating. Burial was in Level Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Heard died Sunday, Aug. 15, 2004, at Habersham County Medical Center in Demorest.
Born in Habersham County, he was the son of the late Nicey and Robert Heard. He was a member and former chairman of the deacon board of Ebenezer Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ella Heard and second wife, Gena Scott Heard; two daughters, three sons, three sisters and six brothers.
Survivors include a daughter, Hattie Mae Heard Primer of the home; 11 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren; and a number of great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Jackie June Nicely, 57, of Cornelia, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 21, at Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Cornelia, with Bishop Ernest Burns officiating.
Burial will be in Yonah Memorial Garden.
Mr. Nicely died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born in White County July 5, 1947, he was the son of Carrie Nicely Trammell and the late Jackson Nicely. He was a 1965 graduate of Cornelia Regional High School and graduated from North Georgia Technical School. He was a member and deacon of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Nicely of the home; daughters, Lisa Camp of Cornelia, Paula Grayson of Gainsville and Pam Brock of Cornelia; mother and stepfather, Carrie and Bobby Trammell of Sautee; sisters, Willie J. Bradley of Radcliff, Ky., Ruby N. Nicely of Gainesville, Bobbie Ann Jordan of Oakwood and Stella Hatcher of Cornelia; brothers, Billy Sanders of Cornelia and Eddie Nicely of Gainesville; and three grandchildren.

Larry Dwayne "Punk" Cantrell
Funeral services for Larry Dwayne "Punk" Cantrell, 45, of Mt. Airy, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with the Rev. Ray Turpin and Dr. B.V. Franklin officiating. Mr. Cantrell died Thursday, Aug. 19, 2004, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born in Hall County on July 7, 1959, he was a 1977 graduate of Habersham Central High School. He was the co-owner/operator of 123 Wholesale Tire for 27 years and a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church. He loved fishing and antique cars and was a member of Mt. Airy Masonic Lodge No. 141 F&AM.;
Survivors include his son, Matt Cantrell of Mt. Airy; parents, Hugh and Nellie Westbrooks Cantrell of Mt. Airy; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Phyllis Cantrell and Don and Teresa Cantrell, all of Mt. Airy; sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Terry Barrett and Garnelle and Tim Holcomb, all of Mt. Airy; and granddaughter, Athalea Kay Cantrell of Mt. Airy.
