VIENNA -- Funeral services for Ashlie Monique Lucas, 20, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2003, in Bethel Baptist Church, Vienna. Burial will follow in the Vienna City Cemetery. The Rev. Carlton Martin will officiate the services.
Ms. Lucas died Monday, July 7, 2003, in Dooly County.
She was born in Crisp County, attended Dooly County public schools and was employed by Fillers 16 in Vienna.
Survivors include two children, Marquavious T. Coleman and Jamiya Lucas both of Vienna; her companion, Quintin Coleman Jr. of Dooling; her parents, Dian (Johnny) Towns of Hapeville, and Bobby Lucas of Vienna; seven sisters, Ulekeya (Bobby) Hill of Augusta, Andrea Felton and Ashley Fluellen both of Unadilla, Kizzy Felton of Lilly, LaJocelyn Lucas, Brittany Lucas and Brianna Lucas all of Vienna; one brother, Shedrick Turner of Atlanta; grandparents, Emma Jones of Vienna and Pearlie M. Lucas of Pinehurst; seven aunts; 12 uncles; and a host of other relatives.

Marvin Williams
BAINBRIDGE -- Funeral services for Marvin Williams, 66, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2003, in Bethlehem Baptist Church in Cordele. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Bishop J.D. Guthrie will officiate the services.
Mr. Williams died Saturday, July 5, 2003, Cocoa, Fla.
Mr. Williams' nephews will serve as pallbearers.
A native of Byromville, he was the son of the late Elick and Hattie Williams. He was employed as the chief chef at Wingate's Lunker Lodge Pond House and was a member of Emanuel M.B. Church.
Survivors include his wife, Charlie L. Williams; children, Marilyn King, Eugene Williams, Carl Williams, Christy Williams and Falold Williams; brothers and sisters, Eva Duhart, Albert Williams, Sammy Williams and J.C. Williams.

Mary Ruth Wimbish
CORDELE -- Funeral services for Mary Ruth Wimbish, 86, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2003, in Isle of Hope Methodist Church in Savannah. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn cemetery in Savannah.
Mrs. Wimbish died Thursday, July 10, 2003, in Crisp Regional Hospital.
A native of Pope County, Ark., she was a homemaker and a member of Isle of Hope Methodist Church in Savannah.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Francine W. Shuman and Ted Shuman of Cordele; and two grandchildren, Lori Shuman and Melissa Shuman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the late Perry Mark Wimbish.

Mrs. Prince died Thursday, July 10, 2003, in Perry.
JAMES LEE WILKERSON
CORDELE -- James Lee Wilkerson, 32, of Lansing, MI died at his residence in Monday, June 9, 2003. He was born on Tuesday, March 16, 1971, in Cordele, Ga. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, July 13, 2003 at the Chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Serviceswith interment to follow at Sunnyside Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home. Mr. Wilkerson was a practicing attorney in Lansing and a member of the Bar Associations in Georgia andMichigan. He was a graduate of Turner County High School in Ashburn, Ga. He was also a graduate of Florida State University in Tallahassee, Fla. and Georgia State University in Atlanta. In 2001 he graduated Cum Laud and in the top nine percent of his class from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Mi. He had recently graduated from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit.
Survivors include his mother and father Linda Faye (Brown) and Jimmy Curtis Wilkerson of Rebecca; one son, EvanMatthew Wilkerson of Lansing, Mi.; maternal grandmother, Lorene Brown of Cordele; sister, Gina (Wilkerson) Barnes of Cordele; a niece, Kayla Barnes of Cordele and several aunts and uncles. Troy R. Nipper
CORDELE - Funeral services for Mr. Troy Rufus Nipper, 71, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 7, 2003 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services.
Mr. Nipper died July 5, 2003 in Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
Rev. James Sexton conducted the service. Ricky Smarr, pianist provided music and accompanied himself and Rickey Calhoun as they sang "Just One Rose", "Precious Memories" and "When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder". Mr. Smarr led the congregation in singing "Amazing Grace" at the close of the service. Burial was in Arabi cemetery where Full Military Honors were performed by the Infantry Division of Ft. Benning.
Helana Deneen Hoskins
CORDELE -- Funeral services for Helana Deneen Hoskins, 39, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, June 28, 2003, at the A.S. Clark School Auditorium. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. Bentley Carson Memorial Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Ms. Hoskins died Sunday, June 22, 2003, in Crisp Regional Hospital.
A native of Crisp County, she attended Crisp County schools through the eleventh grade. She was a homemaker and a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Devion Dontea Harris of Atlanta, Terrance K. Harris and Juamarcus A. Harris both of Cordele; her mother and step-father, Betty J. Wood and Fred Wood Jr. both of Cordele; four grandchildren; her maternal grandfather, Arthur Lee Harris of Cordele; sisters and brothers, Earkia N. Wood, Cheasley Lucky and Fredrick Wood III all of Cordele, and Scottie A. Harris of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a half-sister, Gladys Addie of Cordele; a daughter-in-law, Olakesta Harris of Atlanta; aunts, Mary Harris of Cordele, Martha Mobley and Mary Mobley both of Del Ray Beach, Fla.; great-aunts, Dorothy Dixon and Seabell Barner both of Cordele; a great-uncle, Hosea Appling of Cordele; and a host of other relatives and friends.

MIRON ALLEN
Miron Herbert Allen Sr., 86 of LeHigh Acres, Florida died June 25, 2003 at Southwest Regional Hospital in Ft. Myers, Florida. He was born in Wilcox County, Georgia in 1916 to the late Samuel Herbert Allen and Viola Smith Allen. He married
Bonnie Pearce on July 30, 1939 and four children were born of the union. Mr. Allen had been a long time resident of Cordele, Georgia until he retired from the U.S. Postal Service as Superintendent of Postal Operations in 1978. He is best known for his dedication to the Cordele Little League Program where he began Coaching in 1957. In 1966 his Cordele Senior Little League all-star team won the State Championship title. Mr. Allen was also instrumental in securing funding for and building of the Senior League Baseball field. He was a long standing member and Secretary of the Baracca Class of the First Baptist Church. He was also well known in Cordele for the beautiful work he created in upholstering and refinishing antique furniture.
After moving to LeHigh, Florida, in 1980, Mr. Allen joined the First Baptist Church where he was a member until he died. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was assigned to the Pacific when the war ended. Mr. Allen was awarded the lifetime membership of the Loyal Order of the Elks, and was a member of the American Legion, National Association of Postal Workers, and was an active member of the National Parkinson Foundation. Mr. And Mrs. Allen moved back to Cordele for nine months where they resided at the Cordelia Manor. For the last six months of his life, Mr. Allen resided at the Alterra Sterling Home of LeHigh where he was known as "MH" and where he was loved by all the residents and staff members.
His wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren adored Mr. Allen.
He always had a kind word for others and will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have crossed his path. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 28, 2003, in the chapel of Rainey Funeral Services at 10:30 A.M. iIntermentwill follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Allen is survived by his wife, Bonnie P. Allen of LeHigh, Florida; his son, M.H. Allen Jr. and wife Kathy F. Allen of Thomasville, Georgia; three daughters, Wanda Allen Tamer and husband Thomas Tamer of LeHigh, Florida, Brenda Allen Davenport and husband Ferrell Davenport of Columbia, South Carolina, and Marie Allen Tripp and husband Del Tripp of Athens, Georgia. His grandchildren include Davis and Laurie Poole of Canton, Georgia, Donna and Chris Gunn of Augusta, Georgia, Steve Davenport of Columbia, South Carolina, Lisa and Kenny Troxell of Perry Georgia, S. Lee and Jennifer Miller of Tallahassee, Florida, Bryan and Gay Miller of Cartersville, Georgia, Bonnie Miller of Athens, Georgia, and Megan and Abbey Allen of Thomasville, Georgia. Also surviving were a sister Frances Spires, brother Hoover Allen and sister-in-law Katie Massey Allen who reside in Cordele, Georgia. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday, June28, 2003, from 9:30 A.M. til 10:30 A.M.
Paul Chaney
Paul Chaney, 68, of Unadilla died Thursday, June 26, 2003, in Pinehill Nursing Center. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Alvie Coes Funeral Home of Unadilla.
Virginia Williams Bivins
CORDELE -- Funeral services for Virginia Williams Bivins, 75, will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2003, in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery. Visitation will be held today, June 26, 2003, from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Bivins, a native of Crisp County, died at Crisp Regional Hospital Wednesday, June 25, 2003.
She was a retired secretary and member of the Wenona Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Gibbs W. Williams and the late Ida Fullerton Williams.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Bivins of Cordele; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry L. (Valerie) Hughes of Tifton, and Sidney W. (Jeannie) Hughes of Unadilla; and five grandchildren.
