AMERICUS -- Funeral services for Allen B. Chappell, 76, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church. iIntermentwill follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Chappell died Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at his residence.
Mr. Chappell was the retired owner of Chappell Machinery Company. He was a U. S. Navy World War II veteran and a member of the American Legion. He was a past president of these organizations: MB Council Lodge #13, Sumter Shrine Club and John D. Mathis Post #2. He was a member of Al Sihah Temple in Macon and a member and Elder Emeritus of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ima Williams Chappell of Americus; sons, Andy Price of Americus and Allen King Chappell of Milledgeville and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at the Hancock Funeral Home.

TIFTON -- Funeral services for George (John) McAllister Dallas Hunt III, 63, of Tifton will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Willie Beasley and the Rev Billy Kay officiating. iIntermentwill follow at Oakridge Cemetery.
Mr. Hunt died Wednesday, March 19, 2003, at Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla.
He was a restaurant operator, had farming interest, was a real estate developer and outdoor advertiser.
He was the son of the late Charles Seaborn Hunt and Mary Doster Hunt.
Jimmy Allen, Mike Turner, Joe Turner, Stan Curington, Greer Brown, Scott Ewing, Jeff Hunt and Mitch Hunt Jr. will serve as pallbearers.

Mildred Bragg Griffin, 86, of Warwick died at her residence on Tuesday, July 29, 2003. She was born on Saturday, January 6, 1917 in Dooly County and was the daughter of the late Jake Byron Bragg and Minnie Mae (Goodman) Bragg. She was retired from Coastal States Life Insurance as an Insurance Sales Person. Funeral services will be held at Warwick United Methodist Church on Friday, August 1, 2003 at 11:00 AM with burial to follow at Warwick Methodist Cemetery. He was with the Europen Theater, Army intelligence, and he had many rewards for outstanding service. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the fellowship sunday school class. Minnie Brewer Faircloth, 94, of Cordele died at her residence Sunday, August 24, 2003. She was born on Sunday, April 25, 1909 in Taylor County, Ga. and was the daughter of the late Thomas Ralbert Brewer and Mary Frances (Cromer) Brewer. Mrs. Faircloth was a member of Hatley Baptist Church and was retired from the lunch room at Pitts Elementary School. CORDELE - Funeral services for Ann Martin Carter, 59, of Panama City, Fla. were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 15, 2003 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. Mrs. Carter died February 11, 2003 at her residence in Panama City. Rev. Phil Streetman conducted the service and Rose Martin gave the Eulogy. Music was provided by Marcine Freeman, pianist, and she also accompanied Rev. Royce Freeman and herself as they sang “How Great Thou Art” and “Amazing Grace”. Pallbearers were James Hurt, William Martin, Heath Martin, Richard Burnette, Michael Burnette and Matthew Burnette. Burial was in Penia Baptist Church Cemetery. Born June 30, 1943 in Crisp County, she was the daughter of the late Gertrude Elizabeth Cobb and Jack N. Martin. Mrs. Carter was presently employed by the U.S. Air Force as the Housing Manager at Tyndall AFB, Fla. She had held this position for many years at other Air Force Bases. She was a member of Northern Heights Baptist Church in Cordele and attended Living Word Fellowship Church in Panama City. She was also a member of the Professional Management Housing Association. Survivors include her husband, Larry Carter, Panama City, Fla.; a daughter, Tonya L. Kuypers, Wichita Falls, Tx.; brothers, Billy Martin and Jerry Martin, Cordele, Jackie Martin, Joshua, Tx., Bobby Martin, Albany and Aaron Martin, Columbia, S.C.; and two grandchildren, Kyle Kuypers and Brie Kuypers, Wichita Falls, Tx. CORDELE - A graveside service for Mr. Rudell Medlock, 67, was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 8, 2003 at Sunnyside Cemetery. Rev. George Nelson conducted the service and Rainey Family Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements. A taped arrangement of Rev. and Mrs. Royce Freeman singing “I Want To Stroll Over Heaven With You” was played. Mr. Medlock died February 6, 2003 at the Crisp Regional Nursing and Rehab. Born September 28, 1935 in Franklin County, Alabama, he was the son of the late Lilly Fleming and Walter Lee Medlock. He was a tile layer for the mobile home industry and was a member of the Holiness faith. Survivors include his wife, Sara Ann Medlock of Cordele; two sisters, Lois Martin of Rainsville, Alabama and Opal Gann of Chickamauga.
