Minnie Brewer Faircloth, 94, of Cordele died at her residence Sunday, August 24, 2003. She was born on Sunday, April 25, 1909 in Taylor County, Ga. and was the daughter of the late Thomas Ralbert Brewer and Mary Frances (Cromer) Brewer. Mrs. Faircloth was a member of Hatley Baptist Church and was retired from the lunch room at Pitts Elementary School. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2003 in the Chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services with Rev. James Spires and Elder Brad Faircloth officiating. Burial will follow at Seville cemetery in Seville. She is survived by five sons, James Thomas White of Warwick, Rufus Lamar Faircloth of Cleveland, Tn., Raymond Kenneth Faircloth of Cordele, Rayford Ellis Faircloth of Barney and Roy Milton Faircloth of Pitts; three daughters, Dorothy Faircloth Rhodes of Rochelle, Linda Faircloth Turner of Cordele and Bobbie Jean Wilson of Abbeville; also 22 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. CORDELE - Funeral services for Lillian Gibbs Willard, 76, of Cordele, GA. were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 30, 2003 in the Chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. CORDELE - Graveside services for Mr. James Lewis Bryant, 78, of Canton were held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2003 at Sunnyside Cemetery. Rev. Royce Freeman conducted the service and Rainey Family Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements. Mr. Bryant died March 22, 2003 in the Canton Nursing Center in Canton, Ga. Born February 22, 1925 in Crisp County, he was the son of the late Rose Belle Martin and Willie Graham Bryant and the widower of Juanita Sorrow Bryant. He is survived by his children, Annette Croft and Anthony (Tony) Bryant, both of Canton and Vanessa Richards of Woodstock; a brother, Cecil Bryant; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was the son of the late Green and Leila Maud Steverson Gilley. He was a member of Golfview Church Of God in Lake Wales, FL. He retired from Mancini Packing Company as a Plant Supervisor after 36 years. Mr. Gilley Lived in Hardee County, FL and Polk County before coming to Georgia. He was Navy veteran. Lillian Bowen Worley, 85, of Cordele, GA. died at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, GA. Saturday, April 5, 2003. She was born on Thursday, November 1, 1917, in Dodge County, GA. She was the daughter of the late Archie Clark Bowen and Sarah Louise Bowen and wife of the late Herman WORLEY. She lived most of her life in the Hatley Community of Crisp County and was a member of the Oklahoma Baptist Church. Mildred Bragg Griffin, 86, of Warwick died at her residence on Tuesday, July 29, 2003. She was born on Saturday, January 6, 1917 in Dooly County and was the daughter of the late Jake Byron Bragg and Minnie Mae (Goodman) Bragg. She was retired from Coastal States Life Insurance as an Insurance Sales Person. Susie H. Westbrook, 96 of Cordele died at Cordele Health & Rehab. Friday, September 26, 2003. She was born on Monday, September 2, 1907, in Carroll County, the daughter of the late John William Hicks and Rilla Hicks. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Mary B. Smith
Mary B. Smith, 83, died at her residence in Cordele Wednesday, October 20, 2004. She was born Saturday, May 7, 1921 in Cordele and was the daughter of the late Samuel and Lella Snyder Bundrick. A graduate of Georgia State Woman's College in Valdosta, she received her Masters and Six-Year Degree from Mercer University. Mrs. Smith was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church and a retired teacher in the Crisp County School System, where she taught French and Senior English at Crisp County High School. She started the Enrichment Program in Crisp County at A.S. Clark, Southwestern and Crisp County High and implemented the Independent Study Program and the Professional Internship Program at CCHS. She guided her students in writing a book, "Sparks Of The Flint", which was a history given by several citizens in Crisp County. She also worked with the Literary Program in Debate and One-Act Play. Mrs. Smith was named STAR Teacher for the Crisp County School System twice and was the STAR Teacher for the State of Georgia in 1978. She authored a book, "The Oak Leaf Hydrangea", which was a history of the Bundrick family and the early settling of Crisp County. Mrs. Smith was a past member of the Crisp Regional Auxiliary, Cordele Woman's Club, where she served as president and a former Brownie and Girl Scout Leader. Funeral services will be held at Pinecrest Baptist Church Saturday, October 23, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. with interment following at Sunnyside cemetery in Cordele. Born on Thursday, February 14, 1952, in Mobile, Al., she was the daughter of the late Idley Dixon Rawls and Bertha Beatrice (Pirce) Rawls. She was in the commercial cleaning business. Julia Belle "Judy" Hicks, 83, of Cordele, Ga., died Wednesday, September 24, 2003, at Memorial Medical Center in Savannah. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Cordele Garden Club and was the first Georgia Forestry Queen in 1940. She had remained active with the Georgia Forestry Pageants since that time. Born March 28, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Dennis Wester and the late Helen (Anderson) Wester. Survivors include one daughter, Martha H. (Hicks) Ellzey of Savannah; one son, Bob Hicks of Macon; and one sister, Sarah Holt of Rochelle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lisbon Hicks.
