COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- Terry E. Hurt, 42, died June 22, 2003, in Colorado Springs.
He was born Feb. 20, 1961, in Colorado Springs, to John and Margaret Hurt. He enjoyed his job as a manager with Radio Shack, and loved bowling and being a DJ.
Survivors include his wife, Robin (Hart) Hurt; his daughter, Allie Hurt, and soon-to-be-born baby; one sister, Cheryl (Carey) Dowell; a grandmother, Pearl Anderson; nephew and niece, Ryan and Crystal Guido; in-laws, J.D. and Patricia Hart; two brothers-in-law, Jay Hart and Jeremy (Jill) Hart; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Hurt were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 26, 2003, at the Memorial Gardens cemetery Chapel, with burial being held in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Swan Law Funeral Directors had charge of the arrangements.

Mack F. Dent
CORDELE -- Funeral services for Mack F. Dent, 79, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2003, in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial followed in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
The Rev. Richard Hughes and Rev. George Nelson conducted the services. David and Tonya Dent sang "If You Only Knew" Pallbearers were Doug Gilmore, John Mark Dent, Eddie Ruis, Michael Dent, Andy Dent, and Jim Smith.
Mr. Dent died Wednesday, June 18, 2003, at his residence.
A native of Taylor County, he was a retired assembly foreman with Harris Press and a member of the Third Street Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Janice H. Dent of Cordele; two sons, Fred Dent of Sylvester, and the Rev. John Dent of Americus; a daughter, Carolyn O'Neal of San Antonio, Texas; a brother, John Dent of Cordele; three sisters, Kate Woodard of Cordele, Mary Wright and Joyce Moore both of Vienna; seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

POULAN -- Funeral services for Marvin Dixon, 39, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 23, 2003, at Pine Hill Baptist Church near Sumner.
Mr. Dixon died Friday, June 20, 2003, at Crisp Regional Medical Center.

Fulton Forrest Rosser
CORDELE -- Funeral services for Mr. Fulton Forrest Rosser Sr., 91, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at Cordele First United Methodist Church.
Mr. Rosser died June 14, 2003, at Crisp Regional Hospital.
The Rev. Tommy Mason and Layman Lee Guerry conducted the services. Arrangements were handled by Rainey Family Funeral Services, 273-2231.
Norma Turton, pianist, and Steve Sargent, organist, played soft music and also accompanied the congregation as they sang "Sweet, Sweet Spirit."
Pallbearers were David Culpepper, Rob Rosser, Clay Ward, Hunter Hamilton, George Cook and Wayne Ward.

Thomas Jennings Mann
MILLEDGEVILLE -- Thomas Mann, 80, of Milledgeville died at the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville, Saturday, June 21, 2003. He was born on Sunday, October 8, 1922, in Cordele, the son of the late Thomas Mann and Carrie Lee (Smith) Mann. He served in theUnited States Marines in World War II and the Korean War and was a member of the VFW.
Funeral services will be held at Graveside Cedar Creek cemetery on Sunday, June 22, 2003 at 2 p.m. He is survived by two daughters Marie Mann of Cordele and Betty (Mann) McLemore of Albany; one grandson Shawn (Alan) Wynn of Albany and a granddaughter Tammy (Darryell) Arnett of Cordele; great-grandchildren Ray Arnett of Cordele, Ashley Wynn of Albany and Tamela Arnett of Cordele. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren Richard Lang and Gene McLemore. Visitation will be at Rainey Family Funeral Services, Inc. on Saturday, June 21, 2003 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Arrangements by Rainey Family Funeral Services in Cordele.
Thomas Jennings Mann
CORDELE -- Graveside services for Thomas Jennings Mann, 80, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2003, at Cedar Creek cemetery in Crisp County.
Mr. Mann died June 21, 2003, in the Georgia War Veteran's Home in Milledgeville.
The Revs. Billy Forrest and Dorsia Atkinson conducted the service. Soft music was played before the service and "Taps" was played at the close.

Miss Helana Deneen Hoskins, 39, died Sunday, June 22, 2003, in Crisp Regional Hospital. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Bentley Carson Memorial Funeral Home. The family may be contacted at 1016 S. 10th St., Cordele.

CORDELE -- Funeral services for Fred Miller, Sr., 95, of Cordele were held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2003, in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. The Rev. Chuck Smith and Rev. Fred Miller, Jr. conducted the services. Wilma Smith sang "Amazing Grace" and "Serenaded by Angels."
Pallbearers were Don Banis, Rich Banis, Robert Jamant, Larry Loughmiller and Dennis Krueger.
Burial followed in Sunnyside Cemetery.

CORDELE -- Graveside services with full military honors for Johnny Leroy Simmons of Cordele were held at 4 p.m. Friday, June 20, 2003. The Rev. C. R. Gamble conducted the services.

Eula Kate Williams Henry
CORDELE -- Funeral services for Eula Kate Williams Henry, 94, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 22, 2003, at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Henry died Friday, June 20, 2003, at Eastview Nursing Center in Macon.
A native of Crisp County, she was a homemaker and a member of the Rock Springs Presbyterian Church of Atlanta where she was the first woman Elder of the church. She was the widow of Joel Turner Henry and the daughter of the late Isaiah Gibson Williams and the late Inez Grace Fullerton Williams.
Survivors include her sister, Jenny Shingler of Donalsonville; and two sisters-in-law, Betty Williams and June Williams both of Cordele.

B.G. Burnette
HAWKINSVILLE -- Graveside services for B.G. Burnette, 88, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 23, 2003, at County Line cemetery in Unadilla.
Mr. Burnette died Friday, June 20, 2003, in a Hawkinsville nursing home.
Born in Dooly County, he was the son of the late John Clark Burnette and Lula Wright Burnette. He was a 50-year mason, a farmer and a member of County Line Baptist Church. He was in the WPA and helped with the construction of Robins Air Force Base. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include his wife, Edith R. Burnette of Hawkinsville; three daughters, Geraldine Williams of Moncks Corner, SC, Wilma N. Nowotny of Hendersonville, NC, and Barbara Wade of Hawkinsville; a stepson, Bobby Dixon of Hawkinsville; two sisters, Bessie Cape of Cartersville and Eleanor Thompson of Macon; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.

Beatrice Durham Worley
CORDELE -- Funeral services for Beatrice Durham Worley, 91, were held Monday, June 16, 2003, in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. Mrs. Worley died June 13, 2003 in Hinesville. The Rev. Sonny Dorminey conducted the service. Mrs. Ruth Cantrell provided music and accompanied the Gospel Echos as they sang "In The Garden" and "I'll Meet You In The Morning." Remarks were given by Rachel Jones and Torre Worley, grandchildren of Mrs. Worley. Paige Worley read a poem, "Poetry Hides In Her" that she wrote in honor of her grandmother. Dale Worley, another grandson, sang a song, "Grandma, " that he wrote for her. Pallbearers were Dale Worley, Mark Worley, Torre Worley, Koby Worley, Sidney Durham and Frank McKinney. Honorary pallbearers were Ray Durham, Cluese Hegwood, Roger Hegwood, James Brown, Doc Dockery, Calvin Owens, Ralph Bailey, Harold Worley, Philip Worley, Robert Worley, David Worley, Grady McBryant, Carlos Calhoun, Lee Clary, Lynn McKinney, Charles Bagwell, Eddie Luke, Ronnie Morgan, Steve Whelchel, Stewart Whelchel and John T. Bullington. Burial was at Oklahoma Baptist Church Cemetery.
Arthur Lane Thompson
LAKE CITY, Fla. -- Funeral services for Arthur Lane Thompson, 59, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 2, 2003, in the Sherrill-Guerry Funeral Home Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Bro. Rodney Baker will officiate the services.
Mr. Thompson died Saturday, June 28, 2003, at his residence in Lake City.
A native of Fairhope, Ala., he had lived in Lake City for the past 38 years. He was retired from the state, where he served as a correctional officer. He was a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and achieved the rank of sergeant. In his spare time, he enjoyed playing cards, fishing and watching sports.
Survivors include two sons, Eric Thompson of Lake City, and Sgt. Scott (Jennifer) Thompson of Lawrenceville; a daughter, Mandy Thompson of Cordele; one brother, Freddy Thompson of New Hampshire; a sister, Alice Jorgensen of Fairhope, Ala.; two grandchildren, Hunter and Hailey Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
