Paul Chaney
UNADILLA -- Funeral services for Paul Chaney, 68, will be held at 10 a.m. today, July 1, 2003, in Camp Creek First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Mt. Moriah Church Cemetery. The Rev. John H. Thomas will officiate the services.
Mr. Chaney died Thursday, June 26, 2003, in a local nursing home.
A native of Clay County, he attended Speight High School in Ft. Gaines. He served in the U.S. Army and worked most of his life on the farm. After moving to Dooly County, he joined Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and worked as a yardman for local families in the Unadilla area.
Survivors include his children, Josephine Chaney Harris and Jennifer Chaney both of Perry, and James (Babbie) Chaney of Warner Robins; his mother, Annie B. Chaney of Unadilla; siblings, Jahira (Carol) Chaney of Burlington, N.J., Willie (Essie) Chaney of Tampa, Fla., Sandra Smith of Newark, N.J., Geraldine Dotson and Carl (Mildred) Chaney of Warner Robins, Barbara (Clarence) Daniely of Ft. Valley, Earnie (Willie Mae) Chaney of Vienna, and Milton (Mable) Chaney of Unadilla; a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Chaney of Burlington, N.J.; one aunt, Cora McIntee of Cordele; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, the late John L. Chaney.

Edward Bennard 'E.B.' McLemore
CORDELE -- Funeral services for Edward Bennard "E.B." McLemore, 77, will be held at 3 p.m. today, July 1, 2003, in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery.
Mr. McLemore died Sunday, June 29, 2003, in Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
A native of Polk County, Fla., he was a retired sewing machine mechanic for Cordele Uniform Company and Best Manufacturing for 30 years. He was a member of Morningside Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Louise McLemore of Cordele; a son, Eddie McLemore of Cordele; a daughter, Patricia McLemore Worek of Andalusia, Ala.; brothers, Walter McLemore of Americus, Herbert (Betty) McLemore of Lovejoy, David H. (Dot) McLemore of Plains, James (Evelyn) McLemore of Orlando, Fla., and Horace (Joy) Carter of Albany; sisters, Louvine Adams of Albany, Eva Lottie (Charles) Horne of Warner Robins, and Virginia Perry of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three grandchildren, Russell Worek and Joshua and Caleb McLemore; and three great-grandchildren, Jessica, Marissa and Jacob Worek.

Charlie T. 'Buddy' Britt
ASHBURN -- Graveside services for Charlie T. "Buddy" Britt, 82, will be held at 11 a.m. today, July 1, 2003, at Rose Hill Cemetery. Perry Funeral Chapel has charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Britt died Sunday, June 29, 2003, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Edward B. McLemore
CORDELE -- Funeral services for Edward B. McLemore were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2003, in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial followed in Sunnyside Cemetery. The Revs. Joey Boney and Curtis Driver officiated the services.
Imogene Gilliam, pianist, played soft music and accompanied Billy White as he sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot."
Pallbearers were Walter Bodrey, David Thorton, David McKinney, James Eberhart, Stan Roberts and Jim Akin.
Honorary pallbearers were Jack Davis, William Hicks, Albert Howard, Joel Gilliam, George Cook, Harry Helms, Todd Helms, Joel Woodard, Tommy Kimbrell, Billy White, George Gray, James Burgess and members of the Faith Sunday School Class and members of the Joy Club.

Hazel Marie Schellhase Bartlett
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Hazel Marie Schellhase Bartlett, 87, of Jacksonville, Fla., died in Jacksonville Sunday, June 29, 2003.
She was born on Friday, July 30, 1915. She was the wife of the late James Lee Bartlett.
Graveside services will be held at Cedar Creek cemetery today, July 2, 2003, at 2 p.m.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Bivins Rupert Wood
HAWKINSVILLE -- Memorial services for Bivins Rupert Wood, 78, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, July 5, 2003, at Tippettville Baptist Church near Vienna. Burial was held Monday, June 30, 2003, in Tippettville Cemetery. Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Unadilla has charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Wood died Monday, June 30, 2003, at his residence.
A native of Dooly County, he was the son of the late Franklin Bivins Wood and Ruby Burnette Wood. He was a farmer, a member of First Baptist Church of Unadilla, and had previously worked for General Motors and Ford Motor Company in Detroit, Mich. He lived in Unadilla for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Audrey Wood of Unadilla; a brother, Bobby Wood of Columbus; and sisters, Effie Stewart of Rome, Connie Raper of Montezuma, and Patricia Cross of Perry.
The family will receive friends at the church following the service.

Maria Diane Everett Green
CORDELE -- Funeral services for Maria Diane Everett Green, 45, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2003, in the A.S. Clark Elementary School Auditorium. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. The Rev. L.D. Cobb Sr. will officiate the services, directed by J.W. Williams Funeral Home.
Mrs. Green died Friday, June 13, 2003, in Crisp Regional Hospital.
She was a member of Gethesemane Baptist Church.

VALDOSTA -- Graveside services for Renzell Ford, 57, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 21, 2003, at Mt. Olive cemetery in Warwick. Bentley Carson Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Ford died Monday, June 16, 2003, in Valdosta.
A native of Crisp County, he worked in the landscaping and auto detailing businesses. He was a member of Mildale Baptist Church in Cordele, and had lived in Atlanta for several years.
Survivors include his father, Renzie Ford of Vienna; his children, Audra Haugabrook of Cordele, Trisia L. Ford of Jacksonville, Fla., Beverly Ford of San Diego, Calif., and Maurio Westbrook of South Carolina; sisters and brothers, Annie F. Brown, Mattie Mae Pope, Janice McCrary and Geraldine Ford all of Cordele, Luanne Holmes of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Judy Ford of Tampa, Fla., James Ford, Alvin Ford, Marvin Ford and Morris Ford all of Florida, and Hiram Ford of Pinehurst; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ashley Renea McVeigh
CORDELE -- Funeral services for Ashley McVeigh, 13, of Pitts were held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. The Rev. Marshall Kilgore and Rev. J.E. Harris conducted the services. Nikki McVeigh read a poem she wrote for her sister. "Just For You, My Baby." "Good Morning Beautiful" was played at the beginning of the service. Marcene Freeman, pianist, played soft music. Kristy Purdy sang "Sweet Beulah Land" and she and Danny Poole sang "I Met the Master."
Ms. McVeigh died Monday, June 16, 2003 in Crisp Regional Hospital.
Pallbearers were Ja McVeigh, Elliot Canterburry, Charles Poole, Chuck Smith, Andy Adkins and Stan Paramore.
At the graveside in Sunnyside Cemetery, "Wind Beneath My Wings" was played.
Willie Frank Adams

Beatrice D. Worley
CORDELE -- Funeral services for Beatrice Durham Worley, 91, were held Monday, June 16 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. The Rev. Sonny Dorminey conducted the service. Dot Cantrell provided music and accompanied the Gospel Echos as they sang "In The Garden" and "I'll Meet You In the Morning." Remarks were given by Rachel Jones and Torre Worley, grandchildren of Mrs. Worley. Paige Worley read a poem "Poetry hides Her" that she rote in honor of her grandmother. Dale Worley, another grandson, sang "Grandma" that he wrote for her. Burial was at Oklahoma Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Worley died Friday, June 13, 2003 in Hinesville.
Pallbearers were Dale Worley, Mark Worley, Sidney Durham and Frank McKinney.
