Fulton Forrest Rosser Sr.

CORDELE -- Fulton F. Rosser, 91, died at Crisp Regional Hospital on Saturday, June 14, 2003.

He was born on Sunday, April 7, 1912, in Henry County, Ga., the son of the late Austin R. Rosser and Rosa Lee (Jones) Rosser. He was the owner and operator of Culligan Conditioning in Cordele and Americus, and was a member of the Cordele First United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Men's Bible Class.

Funeral services will be held at Cordele First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at 2 p.m. with burial to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

He is survived by his wife, Alice Surles Rosser of Cordele; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and David Culpepper of Cordele; a son and daughter-in-law, Fulton F. and Ruth Rosser of Cordele; a brother Horace Rosser of Cordele; three sisters, Myrtice Haynie of Cordele, Mary Ruth Brown of Fayetteville, and Martha Wilkerson of Newnan; grandchildren, Rob and Tracie Rosser of Ellenwood, Karen and Hunter Hamilton of Marietta, Dana Culpepper of Albany, and Dawn and Clay Ward of Cordele. Visitation was held at Rainey Family Funeral Services, Inc. on Monday, June 16, 2003, from 7-9 p.m.

Miron H. Allen Sr

CORDELE -- Funeral services for Miron Herbert Allen, Sr. 86 of LeHigh Acres, Fla. were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28, 2003 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services.

Mr. Allen died June 25, 2003 at Southwest Regional hospital in Ft. Myers, Fla.

Dr. Richard Hughes conducted the service. Stephen Hornyak, pianist, played soft music and accompanied himself as he sang "One Day At a Time" and "Because He Lives"

Pallbearers were Davis Poole, Chris Gunn, Steve Davenport, Kenny Troxell, S Lee Miller and Bryan Miller.

Members of the Baraca School Class of Cordele First Baptist Church served as honorary pallbearers. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

Dorothy Alma Tramel

CORDELE -- Graveside services for Dorothy Alma Tramel, 76, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2003 at Sunnyside cemetery in Cordele.

Mrs. Tramel died June 21, 2003 in Crisp Regional Hospital.

The Rev. George A. Nelson conducted the service and Rainey Family Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements.

Pallbearers were Jerold Tramel, James Gladney, Terry Bird, Randy Cagle, Billy Wayne Harris and Wyndell Parrish.

Virginia Williams Bivins

CORDELE -- Funeral services for Virginia Williams Bivins were held at 4 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2003, in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial followed in Sunnyside Cemetery.

The Rev. James Sexton conducted the services. Mrs. Bivins son, Sidney Hughes, provided soft music for the service. Mr. Hughes also accompanied Nena Dennard as she sang "Surely the Presence of the Lord is in This Place" and "No One Ever Cared for Me Like Jesus."

Pallbearers were Gibbs Williams, Joseph Hughes, Jeremy Hughes, Lanier "Buddy" Hughes, Tommy Hughes, and Ricky Hughes. Charlie Bowles served as an Honorary Pallbearer.

Hughes & Wright Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.

Lula Mae Adair Vance

SYCAMORE -- Funeral services for Lula Mae Adair Vance, 91, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2003, in Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. Perry Funeral Chapel has charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today, July 16, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Vance died Monday, July 14, 2003, in Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany following a sudden illness.

Lola Beatrice Morris

WARNER ROBINS -- Funeral services for Lola Beatrice Morris, 84, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, 2003, in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at 3 p.m. in Sunnyside cemetery in Cordele.

Mrs. Morris died Sunday, July 13, 2003.

A native of Crisp County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Nancy Adkins Bush, and the widow of the late Nacomas Q. Morris. She was a homemaker and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Cordele.

Survivors include her daughters, Sylvia Butler of Jacksonville, Fla., Dixie Stripling and Nancy Smith both of Warner Robins; a son, James T. Morris of Warner Robins; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Heritage Memorial Funeral Home of Warner Robins has charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Willie H. (Smiley) Burks of 514 West 19th Ave. died Tuesday, July 19, 2003, at his residence. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by J.W. Williams Funeral Directors of Cordele and Vienna.

Pearlie Mae Woodson

UNADILLA -- Funeral services for Pearlie Mae Woodson will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2003, in Evergreen Baptist Church in Pinehurst. Burial will follow in the Mt. Moriah Church cemetery in Unadilla. The Rev. David Thomas will officiate the services.

Ms. Woodson died Thursday, July 10, 2003, in Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville.

A native of Dooly County, she was the daughter of the late Ben Woodson and Mobile Gyden. She joined the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church at an early age, and later united with Evergreen Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Mary Lou Campbell of Havana, Fla., Alice Mae Henry, Carrie Taylor and Ester Woodson all of Unadilla, and the Rev. Kenneth (Karol) Jones of Hopkinsville, Ky.; her step-mother, Minnie Mae Woodson of Tampa, Fla.; five sisters, Janie Mae Clark of Havana, Fla., Alice Burks of Pinehurst, Eula Cone, Viola Phillips and Ruby Johnson all of Tampa, Fla.; four brothers, Joe L. (Annie) Woodson of Decatur, Charles (Rita) Woodson and Benjamin (Karen) Woodson all of Tampa, Fla., and Charlie C. Woodson of Havana, Fla.; two uncles; two aunts; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

The family may be contacted at 350 Cherry St., Unadilla.

The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Willie H. 'Smiley' Burks Jr.

CORDELE -- Funeral services for Veteran Willie H. "Smiley" Burks Jr. will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2003, in the A.S. Clark Elementary School Auditorium. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. Minister Johnny B. Dean will officiate the services.

Mr. Burks died Tuesday, July 15, 2003.

Deacon William O. Durham will perform a hymn and the Rev. Isaac H. Owens will offer a prayer. The Revs. Benjamin Dent and Antwion M. Yowe will read scripture, and Valerie Royal will perform a solo. Augustus Telfair, Deacon John Eddie Wiggins, Jerome Outlaw and Betty Walker will offer words of reflection and Sharee "Sparkles" Burks and Derrick Burks will read poems. Woodrow Bivins will sing a solo and Pastor Johnny B. Dean will offer words of comfort for the family. The staff of Williams Funeral Home will present the family with an heirloom bible as a keepsake.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley R. Burks of Cordele; his mother, Mattie L. Glenn of Cordele; his step-mother, Thelma Burks of Ashburn; sons, Reginald (Martha) Burks of Indio, Calif., Richard (Margot) Burks of Lithonia, Jermall (Felita) Burks, Romon Burks, Zell Lucas, Conte' Burks, Derrick Burks, Sadoc Jackson and Shakeen Burks all of Cordele; daughters, Kimberly Grant of Miami, Fla., Kenarsha Hebert of Greensboro, N.C., LaKimberly Clark of Albany, Lenora Salters and Senora Salters of Georgiana, Ala., Sharee Burks and Marissa Burks of Cordele; 12 grandchildren; brothers, Willie J. Burks of Atlanta, Claude Burks of Boston, Mass., and Willie F. Robeson of San Francisco, Calif.; sisters, Katonia (Warren) Evans of Cordele, and Sandra Jeffery of Albany; aunts, Johnnie M. Washington of Miami, Fla., and Essie Burks of Ashburn; uncles, John Glenn of Cordele, Robert Glenn and William Glenn both of Springfield, Mass.; a sister-in-law, Barbara G. Kindel of Cordele; brothers-in-law, Franklin (Cynthia) Ross of Stone Mountain, and Tommy Kindel of Cordele; and devoted cousins, Gloria (George) Lowe of Albany, and James (Jean) Burks of Ashburn.

Clara Mae Tolbert Clark

CORDELE -- Funeral services for Clara Mae Tolbert Clark will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2003, in the sanctuary of the New Mount Zion Baptist Church in Cobb. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Clark died Wednesday, July 9, 2003.

Pastor Jesse Watts will lead the processional and Deacon Silas Pierce will sing a hymn. Deacon Arthur Wright will offer a prayer and the Rev. Watts will read scripture. Sister Ora Mae Fields will perform a solo and anyone desiring may offer words of reflection. Sister Betty Walker will then perform a solo and the Rev. Watts will offer words of comfort to the family. The family will then be presented an heirloom bible on behalf of the Williams Funeral Home staff.

She was a native of Sumter County and later moved to Tampa, Fla., with her late husband, Fred Clark Sr. in 1952.

Survivors include her daughters, Mamie Chealey of Atlanta, Eutha (Antonio) Long, Mary Smith, Estella Clark, Iola (Dennis) Addison and Clara (Curtis) Norris all of Tampa, Fla.; a son, Frankye Clark of Tampa; 26 grandchildren, Jason Addison, Timothy Addison, Sabrina Bryant, Fred Clark, Joseph Clark, Mickinkie Clark, Patricia Clark, Toshia Clark, Vivian Clark, Lamar Davis, Margarett Long, Tiffany Lucas, Curtis Norris Jr., Daryl Norris, Jamarian Norris, Joshua Norris, Paul Norris, Herman Shelton, Felicity Smith, Gregory Smith, Sammy Smith, Gregory Thornton, Kenneth Thornton, Haiking Thornton, Nikol Thornton and Timothy Wright; her special friends, Johnnie Reese, Ella Gooden, Mamie White, Helen Hart, Dilbert Bell and Jeanette Askew; sisters-in-law, Iola Evans of Cobb, and Lula Lewis; and a brother-in-law, Ben Clark of Columbus.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Annie Pearl Shelton, and a son, Fred Clark Jr.

J.W. Williams Funeral Home of Cordele has charge of the arrangements.

Chad Williams

CORDELE -- Funeral services for Chad Williams, 18, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 24, 2003, in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery.

Mr. Williams died Monday, July 21, 2003, in Vienna.

He was a native of Richmond County and was a 2003 graduate of Crisp County High School.

Survivors include his father, Jeffory P. Williams of Cordele; his mother, Ronda Davis of Ft. Valley; a sister, Courtney Davis of Ft. Valley; his maternal grandmother, Kathryn English of Ft. Valley; his paternal grandfather, Paul Williams Jr. of Albany; and his paternal grandmother, Linda C. Saunders of Albany.

Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Hughes & Wright Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Lory Franklin Selby

ABBEVILLE -- Funeral services for Lory Franklin Selby, 74, will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2003, in the chapel of Frazier & Son Funeral Home. Burial will be in Swain cemetery in Columbia, N.C. Frazier & Son Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Mr. Selby died Sunday, July 20, 2003.
