Pat Butler
VIENNA -- Funeral services for Pat Butler, 93, will be held at 11 a.m. today, July 23, 2003, in the First Baptist Church of Vienna. Burial will follow in the Vienna City Cemetery. The Rev. Jamey Hunt and Dr. J.W. Wallis will officiate the services.
Mr. Butler died Monday, July 21, 2003, in Crisp Regional Hospital.
Organist will be Connie Ellis and Chuck Ellis will sing "He Touched Me."
Pallbearers will be Emeral Gill, Kenneth Thompson, Randy Bowen, Jimmy Langford, Bobby West, Craddock Durham, John Morgan and Fred Kight.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Caleb Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church of Vienna.
A native of Dooly County, he was the son of the late Matthew Patrick Butler and Ellie Wells Butler. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vienna, the Caleb Sunday School Class and he was a deacon. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was a 50 year Mason, a Gideon, a retired farmer and past owner and operator of Pat's Camp at Drayton.
Survivors include his wife, Hazel Butler of Vienna; three sisters, Frances Coley of Vienna, Nell Walker of Albany, and Lucy Sanders of Cordele; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Vienna, P.O. Box 351, Vienna, Ga., 31092.

Mattie 'Miss Lucy' Duke
AMERICUS -- Graveside services for Mattie "Miss Lucy" Duke, 83, will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2003, at Kimball United Methodist Church cemetery in Anderson City in Worth County. The Rev. J.L. Sellers will officiate the services.
Mrs. Duke died Monday, July 21, 2003, in Sumter Regional Hospital following a lengthy illness.
A native of Worth County, she was a retired bookkeeper for Altama Farms and a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Teena Mann of Americus; a sister, Ruth Lewis Mason of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla.; four grandsons; four great-grandsons; eight great-grandchildren and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl C. Duke; her son, Payton Lamar Duke; and two great-grandsons, Shannon Smith and Ashley Smith.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Leonard Talton
FT. VALLEY -- Funeral services for Leonard Talton of Ft. Valley will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2003, in Ushers Temple CME Church in Ft. Valley. Burial will follow in Mt. Gillard Cemetery, Reynolds. Bentley Funeral Directors of Cordele and Reynolds has charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Talton died Saturday, July 19, 2003, at his residence.
Roy Chester Ray
CORDELE -- Funeral services for Roy Chester Ray, 43, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2003, in Little Rock Baptist Church in Arabi. Burial will follow in Little Rock Cemetery.
Mr. Ray died Thursday, July 17, 2003.
A native of Crisp County, he was the son of the late Manuel Ray Sr. and Nannie Sutton Ray. He attended Crisp County Schools and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was an agricultural worker and a member of Little Rock Baptist Church.
Survivors include his children, Charmayn P. Ray, Derik Ray and Raphael Travis Ray all of Cordele; five grandchildren; sisters and brothers, Helen Ray (Larry) Thomas, Wincer Ray and Larry Ray all of Cordele, Jeanette (Michael) Middlebrooks of Macon, Manuel (Irene) Ray Jr. of Miami, Fla., and Jerome (Rosalind) Ray of Melbourne, Fla.; four aunts; two uncles; three sisters-in-law; a very special friend, Dianne Woodson of Cordele; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Martha McCray
CORDELE -- Funeral services for Martha McCray will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 24, 2003, in the Greater Morris Tabernacle Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Gibbs Chapel Cemetery. Elder J.C. Clark will officiate the services.
Elder Clark will lead the processional and Brother Latravian Quarterman will read scripture. Prayer will be offered by Brother Leon Hughes and selections will be sang by Minister Rosa Sanford, Brother Clarence Jackson and the PHC Church Choir. The family will be presented an African-American heirloom bible as a keepsake on behalf of the staff of J.W. Williams Funeral Home.
Survivors include Eunice (Michael) Wafford, Eddie (Linda) McCray Jr., Jerome McCray, Robert (Janice) McCray and Kaleena (Andre) Mathis all of Cordele, Eloise M. (Willie) Clark of Heielberg, Germany, Niclanda M. (Lester) Jackson of Rockhill, S.C., and Latasha Mathis of Albany; a sister, Evelyn Anderson of Warner Robins; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters-in-law.

Geneva Harden Cameron
SYCAMORE -- Funeral services for Geneva Harden Cameron, 81, will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, Aug. 3, 2003, in Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Arabi cemetery in Crisp County. Perry Funeral Chapel of Ashburn has charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Cameron died Thursday, July 31, 2003, in Golden South Personal Care Home following a lengthy illness.
Mildred Bragg Griffin
WARWICK -- Funeral services for Mildred Bragg Griffin, 86, were held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, 2003. at Warwick First United Methodist Church. The Rev. Dorcia Atkinson conducted the service and Rainey Family Funeral Services was in charge of the arrangements. Burial was in Warwick Methodist Cemetery.
Mrs. Griffin died on July 29 at her residence.
Bobby Helms, pianist, played soft music and also accompanied the church choir as they sang "How Beautiful Heaven Must Be" and "Shall We Gather At The River."
Pallbearers were Don Lamberth, Bobby Bragg, Marvin Richards, Butch Mullis, Larry Bragg and Dale Joyner.
Susan Duane Sewell
CORDELE -- A memorial service for Susan Duane Sewell, 51, was held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 2, 2003, at the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services, who were in charge of the arrangements. The family received friends at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the hour of the service on Saturday.
Mrs. Sewell died at Ashburn Healthcare in Ashburn Friday, July 25, 2003.
Fonda Suzette Farr Neisent
AMERICUS -- Suzette F. Neisent, 37, of Cordele died on Monday, Sept. 30, 2003, at her residence.
Memorial services were held at 4 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, in the chapel of Greg Hancock Funeral Chapel in Americus with the Rev. Randy Clayton officiating.
A native of Sumter County, Mrs. Neisent was born Jan. 8, 1966, a daughter of the late James Morris Farr and Betty Joyce McLendon Farr who survives her. She was employed with Ironwood Golf Course. She was a member of Cheek Memorial Baptist Church in Americus.
Memorial contributions may be made to a fund that has been set up at Sumter Bank and Trust Company in the name of Megan and Johnathon Neisent.
Survivors other than her mother, include a daughter, Megan Dawn Neisent, and a son, Johnathon Daniel Neisent both of Cordele; three sisters, Pamela Joyce Farr and Lorri Ansley both of Arabi, and Donna Dailey of Warwick; and two brothers; Greg Farr and James Farr both of Americus.

Helen Frances Willis
COLUMBUS -- Helen Frances Willis, 85, died at The Medical Center of Columbus Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2003.
Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, in Floral Memory Gardens in Albany with the Rev. Dean Knip officiating and burial following according to Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Macon Road. The family received friends Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Willis was born Aug. 1, 1918, in Montezuma, the daughter of the late George Avery Sr. and Mary Hannah Schofield Avery. She had lived in Columbus for the past 35 years where she was a homemaker and active member of Spirit of God Fellowship Church. She was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Schofield Crook.
Survivors include her husband, Andrew Willis of Columbus; two daughters, Ruby Stafford and Martha Sweezer both of Lake City, Fla.; two sons, John Wendell Crook of Lizella, and Jimmy Charles Crook of Gadsden, Ala.; one brother, John Avery Jr. of Cordele; two sisters, Elizabeth Smith of Cordele, and Inez Faircloth of Panama City, Fla; ten grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Joseph H. Warren
TAMPA, Fla. -- Joseph H. Warren, SMSGT USAF (Ret.) of Tampa, Fla., died Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2003, at the age of 82.
Mr. Warren was born in Mt. Phearson, Ala., and reared in Cobb County, Ga. Joe was known for his kind heart and keen sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife and sweetheart of 27 years, Darthy Hartley
Warren of Tampa, Fla.; children, William Warren of Tampa, Fla., Thomas Warren of Arkansas, Sherry Anderson of Panama City, Fla., Linda Warren of Arkansas, Chuck Warren of Decatur, Scott Warren of Tampa, Fla., Joseph Warren of Atlanta, and Ted Warren of Arkansas; brothers, Millard Warren of Douglasville, and David Warren of Alabama and special neice and nephew Susan and David Harris (Grampy to them), and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 4, 2003, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Friendship
Baptist Church cemetery in Pulaski County. Visitation will be held on today, Oct. 3, 2003, from 4 - 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 11 a.m until the hour of the funeral.
