ATLANTA -- Funeral services for Elijah Clark Jr. of Atlanta, formerly of Cordele, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, in the sanctuary of Beulahland Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. The Rev. Chester Askins will officiate the services.
Mr. Clark died Friday, Dec. 5, 2003.
The processional will be led by Rev. Askins and prayer and scripture will be given by Min. Isaac Owens. A solo will be sung by Allyson Taylor. Reflections will be given by family members and friends and a selection entitled "I'll Fly Away" will be presented. The family will be presented with an African-American heirloom bible as a keepsake on behalf of the funeral home staff.
Survivors include his children, Lawrence (Mary) Clark, R. Duane (Diane) Clark, Valeria (Ronald) Clark-Mathis, Xavier Clark, Pamela (Donnie) Clark and Anthony (Tawana) Clark all of Marietta, M. Dwight (Marilyn) Clark and J. Devin (Stephanie) Clark both of Lawrenceville, Priscilla (Luqman) Rahman and Bridgette Johnson both of Cordele; sisters, Alice Dunmore, Ora Mae Miller, Bernice Mincey, Ellen Bowling, Rutene Taylor and Rose Evelyn Clark; brothers, J.D. (Lillie Mae) Clark, Calvin (Joann) Clark and Carl (Gail) Clark; 29 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Ernestine 'Sister' Black
UNADILLA -- Graveside services for Ernestine "Sister" Black, 64, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, at Walnut cemetery in Unadilla. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Unadilla has charge of the arrangements.
Ms. Black died Thursday, Dec. 11, 2003, in a Hawkinsville hospital.
Rodney Forehand
CORDELE -- Funeral services for Rodney Forehand, 34, of Cordele will be held Sunday, December 14, 2003 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Hughes and Wright Funeral Home. iIntermentwill follow in Sunnyside Cemetery.
Mr. Forehand died Thursday, December 11, 2003.
He was a native of Fulton County, a construction worker and member of Hatley Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Connie T. Forehand of Cordele; a daughter, April Nicole Forehand of Cordele; a son, Bryan Keith Forehand of Cordele; his parents, Milton and Nancy Forehand of Cordele; two brothers, Milton Lamar Forehand and Randy Forehand both of Cordele and a sister, Nancy Annette Patrick of Commerce.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.

Ashley Malaier
CORDELE -- Funeral services for Ashley Malaier were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, at Friendship Baptist Church in Pulaski County. The Rev. Jerry Jarrell officiated the services.
Tina Leigh provided a Scripture reading and Brad Malaier, Mr. Malaier's son, gave a short eulogy. Harolene Shingler, pianist, provided soft music for the service, and accompanied Jim Phillips as he sang "You Will Walk With Me."
Pallbearers were Lance Malaier, Lyle Malaier, John Reese, David Langford, Rob Dowdy, and Josh Leigh.
Burial followed in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.
Hughes & Wright Funeral Home was in charge of these arrangements.
Marcella Miller
CORDELE -- Funeral services for Marcella Miller, 82, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. Burial followed in Pitts Cemetery. The Rev. Joe McCoy officiated the services.
Mrs. Miller died Saturday, Dec. 27, 2003, in Cordele Health and Rehab.
Music was provided by Sheryl McCoy, pianist. She also sang "Serenaded by Angels."
Pallbearers were Leonard Mason, Jody McCoy, Charles Adams, T.W. Kilcrease, Ed Waller and Neal Edalgo.

Marie Batchelor Garner
CORDELE -- Marie Batchelor Garner, 80, of Cordele died at Cordele Health & Rehab Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004.
Born Sunday, March 25, 1923, in Haleyville, Ala., the daughter of the late John Weston Batchelor and Eva Louise Wehunt Batchelor. She was a homemaker and a member of Penia Baptist Church where she was a member of the Faithful Workers Sunday School Class.
Services will be held at Penia Baptist Church on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, with burial to follow at Penia Baptist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Joan and Patrick Magrogan of Cordele; one brother and sister-in-law, Travis and June Batchelor of Lake Charles, La.; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Frances and Frank Craig of Marshall, Texas; three grandsons and their wives, Aaron and Kathy Brady of Pitts, Matthew and Stacy Foster of Cordele, and Christopher and Melissa Magrogan of Fort Drum, N.Y.; one granddaughter, Jennifer Martin of Burlington, Vt.; four great-grandchildren, Kiley Brady, Courtney Foster, Tyler Foster and Zachary Magrogan; three sisters-in-law, Edith (Mrs. James) Garner of Cordele, Berneta (Mrs. Joseph) Garner of Purlear, N.C., and Charlene Batchelor Smith of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; 13 nephews and eight nieces; her special friends, Mary Lique and Sammye Dorough and all the members of Penia Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Garner, and a daughter, Linda Brady Puffer.
The family will receive friends at Rainey Family Funeral Services Inc. today from 6-9 p.m.
The family is meeting at 124 Twin Pines Road.

Pency Henrietta Mangum
CORDELE -- Graveside services for Henrietta Mangum, 62, were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, at Sunnyside Cemetery. Layman Lee Guerry and Dr. Richard Hughes officiated the services.
Mrs. Mangum died Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, at her residence.
Billie Faye Farr and Billy White sang "Amazing Grace."

Ruby Estine Ward
CORDELE -- Funeral services for Ruby E. Ward, 84, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2003, in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. The Revs. Eve Tomberlin and Thurmond Collins officiated the services. Burial followed in Sunnyside Cemetery, with the Rev. Shane Green conducting the committal service.
Mrs. Ward died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003.
Barbara Ray, pianist, provided music for the services. The congregation sang "Because He Lives" and Mrs. Ray sang "I'll Fly Away."
Pallbearers were Clay Ward, Scott Dorman, David Dorman, Chad Walters, Clint Culpepper and Mac Clements.

FREEPORT, Fla. -- Funeral services for Leila E. Head, 69, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, in the chapel of Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Unadilla. Mrs. Head died Wednesday, Dec. 31, 2003, in a Destin, Fla., hospital.
Anna Ruth Williams
ROCHELLE -- Funeral Services for Anna Ruth Williams, 78, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, in the M.G. Frazier Memorial Chapel of Frazier & Son Funeral Home. Burial will be private. The Rev. Donald Whitman will officiate the services.
Mrs. Williams died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, in Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Ms. Williams was born Oct. 26, 1925, in Duvall County, Fla. She was the daughter of the late Jennings Bryant Williams and Doris Lillian Brazeale Williams and was a homemaker.
Survivors include a sister, Myrtle Hall of Rochelle; a brother, Jennings Theodore Williams of Jacksonville, Fla.; a brother-in-law, George McCullah of Rochelle; and several nieces and nephews.

Teresa A. Owens
UNADILLA -- Funeral services for Teresa Ann "Ree" Owens, 38, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 3, 2004, in Camp Creek First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Turkey Creek cemetery in Lilly. The Rev. J.T. Hill will officiate the services.
Miss Owens died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2003, in Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
She was the daughter of the late Thelma and Jesse Owens and was a member of Camp Creek First Baptist Church. She was a 1983 graduate of Dooly County High School in Vienna, and attended Fort Valley State University. She was employed with Aramark Food Service in Fort Valley for several years.
Survivors include two children, Tammy S. Owens and Starleich E. Owens both of Unadilla; a sister, Darcey Owens of Unadilla; three brothers, Demond (Mary Ann) Owens of Hawkinsville, Jesse Lee Owens of Texas, and Johnnie B. Owens of Albany; seven uncles; seven aunts and a host of other relatives.
