Georgia Sis Mason, age 71, of Unadilla, died Wednesday, November 22, 2006, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville.
Born in Dooly County, she was the daughter of the late Jeff Layfield and Ola Mae Palmer Layfield. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Unadilla and a retired cook with Flash Foods. Every Wednesday, she enjoyed going out to eat with her "Ladies Day Out Group."

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, November 24 in the chapel of Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Unadilla. Rev. James Gauthier will officiate and interment will follow in Walnut Cemetery.
The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Thursday, November 23 from 6 - 8 PM.

Martha King Deese, age 80, of Americus, died Thursday, November 30, 2006, at Magnolia Manor.
Born in Bibb County, she was the daughter of the late Oscar H. King and Esther Adams King. She was a member of Bethesda Baptist Church in Macon and retired from the Ambassador Motel in Macon where she was the manager.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James W. Deese, and a daughter, Jane Deese.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Emma "Lou" Shiver, age 35, of 35 McCorvey Road, Unadilla, died Wednesday, December 6, 2006, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville.
Born in Gadsden County, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Jack Ennis Shiver and Nancy Belle Phillips Shiver. She was a bookkeeper.

Margaret B. Broxton, age 92, of Lutz, Florida, died Sunday, December 10, 2006, in Tampa, Florida.
Born in Dooly County, she was the daugther of the late Melger Frank Bragg and Effie Peavy Bragg. She was a longtime resident of Unadilla and a member of First Baptist Church of Unadilla, the Fidelis Sunday School Class, a former president of the WMU and served as superintendent of the Primary Sunday School Department. Mrs. Broxton was a retired school teacher and taught at Busy Korner Kindergarten for over 12 years.

Sara Bragg Horne

Sara Bragg Horne, age 93, of Pinehurst, died Sunday, December 10, 2006, at Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville.
She was born in Dooly County on March 13, 1913 to the late Taylor Ansel Bragg and Susie Simmons Bragg. She was a graduate of Young Harris College and Georgia State College for Women, taught school for over 35 years in Dooly and Houston Counties and coached basketball. Mrs. Horne was faithful to God and a longtime member of Pinehurst Baptist Church where she was a former Sunday School teacher and in the WMU. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and the AARP.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, December 14 in Pinehurst Baptist Church. Rev. Freddy Hogg will officiate and interment will follow in Pinehurst City Cemetery.
The family will greet friends from 6 - 8 PM Wednesday, December 13 at the funeral home.
