CORDELE -- Rita L. Satterfield, 59, passed away Sunday at her residence. Memorial services and interment will be held at a later date. Frazier & Son Funeral Home in Rochelle has charge of arrangements.

Deacon James David Glover

ARABI -- Funeral services for Deacon James David Glover of Arabi will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2004, at 12 p.m. at the A.S. Clark Elementary School Auditorium with the Rev. Dr. Robert Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Westview Memorial Garden in Ashburn.

Mr. Glover died April 7, 2004.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Faye Glover of Arabi; children, Olympia (Adrian Lofton) Addie of Cordele, Antonio (Tametricus) Addie of Cordele, Latoya M. Glover of Arabi, Teaneisha D. Glover of Arabi, Travis (Tara Clark) Glover of Cordele; parents, Dave & Josie Lee Glover of Arabi; sisters and brothers, Diana (Carlton Jones) Glover of Arabi, Jennifer (Willie) Henderson of Cordele, Patricia (Herbert Lofton) Glover of Arabi, Stephanie Glover of Cordele, Terry Glover of Arabi, Larry (Tasha Swint) Glover of Cordele, Pernell (Kim) Glover of Ashburn, Heather (Alfred) Jones of Arabi, Tood Glover of Arabi, Samanther (Quantrial) Glover of Ashburn, Matthew (Latoya) Glover of Arabi, Michael Glover of Arabi, Kevin Glover of Cordele; grandmother, Ruby Burgess of Arabi and 13 grandchildren.

J.W. Williams Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.

Ruby Hughes Branan

CORDELE -- Funeral services for Ruby Hughes Branan will be held in the chapel of Rainey Funeral Services Saturday, April 10, 2004, at 2 p.m. iIntermentwill follow at Sunnyside Cemetery.

Mrs. Branan, 72, of Cordele died at Crisp Regional Hospital Thursday, April 8, 2004.

Born Monday, May 18, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Roy Lavan Hughes and Letha Thelma Calhoun Hughes and the widow of Furnie Carswell Branan. Mrs. Branan was a homemaker and a member of Cordele First Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty Ann and David Dowdy of Sylvester and Mary Ellen and Billy Hancock of Cordele; grandchildren, Allison Dowdy and Jeffrey Dowdy, both of Sylvester; four sisters, Royaline Evans of Rebecca, Imogene Hudson of Vienna, Sara Manus of Warner Robins and Vivian Harvey of Port Wentworth.

The family will receive friends at Rainey Family Funeral Services Friday, April 9, 2004, from 7-9 p.m.

Ruby Hughes Branan

CORDELE -- Funeral services for Ruby Hughes Branan, 72, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2004, in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. The Rev. Tommy Calhoun conducted the service. The committal service was conducted by Rev. Roger Hanson at Sunnyside Cemetery.

Mrs. Branan died April 8, 2004, in Crisp Regional Hospital. Rev. Tommy Calhoun conducted the service.

Lynn Hanson, pianist, played soft music and accompanied the Rev. Hanson as he sang "Because He Lives."

Pallbearers were Jeffrey Dowdy, Tony Evans, Mike Evans, Charles Hughes, Herbert Hughes and John Rainey.

Elizabeth Veatrice Bembry

UNADILLA -- Funeral services for Elizabeth Veatrice Bembry, 82, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2004, in the Unadilla United Methodist Church. Burial followed in Walnut Cemetery. Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Unadilla had charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Bembry died Thursday, April 8, 2004, in a local hospital.

Nina Jo Penfield

VIENNA -- Funeral services for Nina Jo Penfield, 76, were held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2004, in the chapel of Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home in Vienna. Burial followed in the Vienna City Cemetery. Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Vienna had charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Penfield died Thursday, April 8, 2004, in a local hospital.

Joe L. Peavy

PINEVIEW -- Funeral services for Joe L. Peavy, 90, will be held at 3 p.m. today, April 11, 2004, in the Friendship Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Friendship cemetery with Masonic rites. The Rev. Mike Slaven will officiate the services, directed by Frazier & Son Funeral Home of Rochelle.

Mr. Peavy died Friday, April 9, 2004, in Northside Villa in Rochelle.

Raymond Bodrey

CORDELE -- Graveside funeral services for Raymond Bodrey, 76, will be held Monday, April 12, 2004, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Bodrey died Friday, April 9, 2004, in Crisp Regional Hospital.

A native of Cordele, Mr. Bodrey was the son of the late James H. Bodrey and the late Mamie Arnold Bodrey. He was the retired owner of Bodrey's TV and was a member of Penia Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Willie Clara Bodrey of Cordele; his son, Ronald Bodrey of Cordele; his daughters, Joyce B. Hughes and Cathy Brown both of Cordele; his brother, Clarence Bodrey of Cordele; his sister, Mattie Baker of Cordele; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held today from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Hughes & Wright Funeral Home is in charge of these local arrangements.

Lillian Pridgen Cannon

CORDELE -- Graveside services for Lillian Pridgen Cannon, 89, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 10, 2004, at Sunnyside Cemetery. The Rev. Tommy Mason conducted the service and Rainey Family Funeral Services was in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Cannon died at Cordelia Manor Monday, April 5, 2004.

Kay Williams, soloist, sang "The Lord's Prayer."

Earl R. Rutledge

CORDELE -- Funeral services for Earl R. Rutledge, 76, of Cordele were held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2004, at Pinecrest Baptist Church. The Revs. Jamey Hunt and Don Howell officiated the service. Burial followed in Sunnyside Cemetery.

Ray Faircloth, pianist, provided soft music for the service. The Glorybound Singers sang "Something Going On In the Cemetery" and "When I Move to Hallelujah Square."

Pallbearers were Steven McDonald, Jarrett Watson, Henry Bellew, Nelson Daniel, Mark Wehunt and Mike Wehunt. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Cordele Evening Lions Club and Mr. Rutledge's Sunday School Class.

Mr. Rutledge died at his residence Saturday, April 17, 2004.

Mr. Rutledge, a native of Turner county, was a retired welder for Harris Press. He was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church, Cordele Evening Lions and was a deacon. He was the son of the late Cleveland Washington Rutledge and the late Lena McCart Rutledge. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Hugh Rutledge and Thomas Rutledge, and two sisters, Jewell Allison and Eva Nelson.

He is survived by his wife, Rita S. Rutledge of Cordele; two daughters, Susie E. Daniel of Prattville, Ala., and Peggy R. Bellew of Vienna; a brother, Fred Rutledge of Lancaster, S.C.; a sister, Coretha Williams of Tampa, Fla.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to United Hospice, 415 E. Fourth Ave., Cordele, Ga., 31015.

Hughes & Wright Funeral Home was in charge of these arrangements.

Jeanine Burton Dunaway

GRAYSON -- Funeral services for Jeanine Burton Dunaway, 68, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 19, 2004, in Heritage Hills Baptist Church in Conyers. Burial will be at 4:30 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church cemetery. Pastor Joe M. Hughes and the Rev. Wendell Hamrick will officiate the services.

Mrs. Dunaway died Friday, April 16, 2004.

She was a member of Heritage Hills Baptist Church in Conyers, and enjoyed years of teaching in Bibb and DeKalb counties, before she began her own interior design business in the Atlanta-area. She had a contagious joy for life and making things beautiful. She was a courageous woman and a shining example of faith and love for the Lord. All were privileged who were touched by her life.

Survivors include her husband of 41 years, James L. "Jim" Dunaway; a daughter and son-in-law, Stacey Dunaway (Joel) Hunter of Hampton; a sister and brother-in-law, Joan Burton (Hoagy) Carmichael of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Judy G. Burton of Vienna; a brother-in-law, Johnny Dunaway of Hawkinsville; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Rodney and Brenda Dunaway of Hawkinsville; a grandson, Brett Jameson Hunter; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Ralph E. Burton Sr. and Myrtis Talley Burton; a brother, Ralph E. Burton Jr.; and a son, James Lee "Jay" Dunaway II.

The family will receive friends at 4 p.m. Monday until the service time at 4:30 p.m. at Harmony Baptist Church in Unadilla. Visitation also will be held from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to Odyssey Hospice Care, 1140 Hammond Drive, Suite B2100, Atlanta, Ga., or Heritage Hills Decor Fund, 2987 Highway 212 SW, Conyers, Ga., 30094, in memory of Jeanine Burton Dunaway.

Terry L. Cheese

CORDELE -- Funeral services for Terry L. Cheese, 41, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 19, 2004, in New Bethel Baptist Church in Unadilla. Burial will follow in Crossroad cemetery in Unadilla. The Rev. J.T. Hill will officiate the services.

Mr. Cheese died Saturday, April 10, 2004, in Crisp Regional Hospital.

He attended J.C. Mursphy High School in Atlanta, and the Phoenix Center in Cordele. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Cordele.

Survivors include his mother, Lelia Mae Cheese of Atlanta; four sisters, Ruby Watkins of Unadilla, Dorothy (Bay-Bay) Johnson of Decatur, Roxie Smith of Stone Mountain, and Linda (Shannon) Felder of Atlanta; three brothers, Willie J. Vance and John Henry Cheese both of Unadilla, and James Edward Cheese of Atlanta; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Vance of Atlanta, and Ruby Lee Cheese-Lucas of Cordele; an uncle, Grady Taylor of Unadilla; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, the late J.D. Cheese of Dooly County.

The family may be contacted at the home of Minnie West Passmore, 264 Carey St., Unadilla.

Joe Claude Nobles

ALBANY -- Memorial services for Joe Claude Nobles, 90, will be held at a later date. Friends and family will be contacted.

Mr. Nobles died Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at his residence following a brief illness.

Born Sept. 10, 1913, he was the son of the late Tom and Hallie Nobles. A resident of Lake Blackshear for the past 17 years, he spent most of his life in Albany, where he worked for 42 years at Lilliston Implement Co. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Uldean and "Oye" Parker.

Survivors include his brother, Otis (Hazel) Nobles of Juliette; his sister, Agnes Smith of Albany; a son, William Edward Taylor of Dublin; a daughter, Charlotte (Lee) Henderson of Dexter; four grandchildren, Letitia (Cole) Miller of Dublin, Lee (Brenda) Henderson of Peachtree City, Stacey Vargo of Emporia, Va., and Scott (Mary) Taylor of Greenville, S.C.; and six great-grandchildren, Heath and Cori Miller of Dublin, Blake and Haley Kate Henderson of Peachtree City, Paden Vargo of Emporia, Va., and Caroline Taylor of Greenville, S.C.

The family may be contacted at 511 N. Cedar Creek Road, Cordele.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Crisp Regional Hospice Care, 201 E. Second Ave., Cordele, Ga., 31015.
