Ralph Livingston

CORDELE -- Ralph Livingston, 78, of Cordele died at Cordele Health & Rehab Sunday, February 15, 2004.

He was born Monday, March 16, 1925 in Wilcox County and was the son of the late Johnny Livingston and Willie Mae Livingston. He was the (RET.) CEO of Middle Georgia EMC. He was an ordained deacon, a member of the First Baptist Church of Cordele and a member of the Men's Bible Class.

Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at 2:00 PM. Roger Hanson will officiate the service. iIntermentwill follow at Vienna City Cemetery.

He is survived by two sons, Ben Livingston (Necy) of Eads, Tenn. and Wayne Livingston (Kathy) of Lagrange; a daughter, Sharon Murphy (Milton) of Alabaster, Ala.; two brothers, Ernest Livingston and Homer Livingston, both of Warner Robins; three sisters, Addie L. Coleman of Pitts, Johnnie Mae Tackett of Gray and Audrey L. Pettis of Washington, D.C. He was preceded in death by spouse Elizabeth A. Livingston, brother James Livingston, and granddaughter Stephanie Scarbrough.

The family will receive friends at Rainey Family Funeral Services Tuesday, February 17, 2004 from 12:30 until 2:00 PM. Arrangements by Rainey Family Funeral Services, Inc.

Freeman Strickland

CORDELE -- Freeman Strickland, 73, of Cordele, died at Portsbridge Hospice in Macon Sunday, February 15, 2004.

He was born Wednesday, February 4, 1931 in Cordele and was the son of the late Hector Freeman Strickland, Sr. and Christine Turk Strickland. He servedin the Air Force and was a veteran of the Korean War.

Graveside services will be held at Zion Hope cemetery Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at 4:00 PM. Layman Lee Guerry will officiate the service.

He is survived by two daughters, Jan (Strickland) Berry ofClark Fork, Idaho and Joan (Strickland) Cress of Salisbury, N.C.; a son, Tom Strickland of Salisbury, N.C.and eight grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at Rainey Family Funeral Services Monday, February 16, 2004 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.The family request that memorials be made to the Pateville Community Club, and Delmus and Luann Turner, 499 Story Road, Arabi, Ga. 31712

Georgia Irene Woodard

CORDELE -- Georgia Irene Woodard, 77, died at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele Monday, February 16, 2004.

She was born on Monday, July 5, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. William C. McDaniel, and the wife of the late Rayford Earl Woodard, Jr.

Graveside services will be held at Sunnyside cemetery Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at 11:00 AM.

She is survived by a daughter, Linda Matthews of Fayetteville; a son, Dennis Woodard of Cordele; two brothers, Jimmy McDaniel of Hawkinsville and JohnnyMcDaniel of Tifton; four sisters, Betty Kemp of Sylvester, Wilma Plummer and Sue Hughes, both of Cordele and Emma Thomas of Tifton, and a granddaughter and husband, Mandy and Michael Burnett of Tyrone.

She was preceded in death by ason, Randy Maris Woodard.

The family will receive friends at Rainey Family Funeral Services, Inc. on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

The family is at the home of Sue and Tommy Hughes, 1407 Hwy 257 North, Cordele.

Delma Durham Worley

CORDELE -- Delma Durham Worley, 60, of Cordele died at his residence Friday, Feb.13, 2004.

Born in Wilcox County on Thursday, Feb. 10, 1944, he was the son of the late Horace and Beatrice Durham Worley. Mr. Worley was the owner of New Castle Installations and a member of Oklahoma Baptist Church where he was the assistant song leader and served on the Board of Deacons. He was a member of the Downtown Design Review Committee and a past recipient of the Farmer of the Year Award.

Funeral services were held in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004, at 2 p.m. iIntermentfollowed in Oklahoma cemetery in Wilcox County.

He is survived by his wife, Elaine H. Worley of Cordele; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Lynn Worley of Buford, and Mark and Wendi Worley of Sugar Hill; a daughter, Paige Worley of Lawrenceville; a sister-in-law, Olene B. Worley of Cordele; a brother-in-law, George Brown of Ludowici; and seven grandchildren, Jacob Worley, Anna Worley, Leah Worley, Mary Beth Worley and Abby Worley all of Buford, and Jordan Worley and Zachary Worley both of Sugar Hill.

Mr. Worley was preceded in death by his twin sister, Thelma Brown, and his brother, William Worley.

Rayford B. Lynch Sr.

CORDELE -- Funeral services for Rayford B. Lynch Sr., 80, of Cordele will be held Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at 11 a.m. in Pinecrest Baptist Church. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. in Buck Creek Baptist Church cemetery in Colquitt County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. today, Feb. 17.

Mr. Lynch died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, at his residence.

Mr. Lynch was a native of Colquitt County. He was retired from the U.S. Navy having served for 24 years. He was the son of the late Richard B. Lynch and the late Emerald Stone Lynch. He is preceded in death by his wife Martha Geneva Lynch.

He is survived by his son, Rayford B. Lynch Jr. of Cordele; his daughter, Cheryl Althouse of Toms River, N.J.; four sisters, Irene Whitaker of Wacissa, Fla., Dorothy Currie of Huston, Fla., Merle Hazen of Milton, Fla., and Opal Gray of Cordele; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Hughes & Wright Funeral Home is in charge of these arrangements.

Rosebud Blackwell

CORDELE -- Funeral services for Rosebud Wilson Blackwell will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, in the sanctuary of Gethsemane Missionary Baptist Church in cordele. Burial will follow at Westview Cemetery. The Rev. L.D. Cobb, Sr., will be officiating.

Mrs. Blackwell died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004.

She attended the Gillespie-Selden Institute. she accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Gethsemane Baptist Church.

She is survived by a cousin who served as her surrogate daughter, mrs. Ida Rose Oliver; cousins, Mrs. Geraldine Johnson of Cordele; Mrs. Barbara Crockette, Mr. Edward Clark, and Mr. Herbert Clark of New Britain, Ct., a caring neighbor, Mrs. Louise Royal; a supportive family friend, Mrs. Mary Lane; and a dear friend, Mrs. Elnora Jackson.

J.W. Williams Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Lois Rhodes Kidd

AUSTELL -- Funeral services for Lois Rhodes Kidd, 85, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, in Mt. Hebron Baptist Church in Cuthbert. Chaplain Debbie Wells will hold a memorial service at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 20, 2004, at Presbyterian Village in Austell.

Mrs. Kidd died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2004.

Born March 1, 1918, in Cuthbert, she was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church in Cordele.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Ronnie Morris Douglasville; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Dian Kidd of Houston, Texas; three granddaughters, Amy Morris Spiva of Douglasville, Susan Henderson Blankenship of Marietta, and Nancy Henderson of Carrollton; three great-granddaughters; a niece, Patsy Rhodes Rogers of Douglasville; and a nephew, Rick Rhodes of Cordele.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Rex Kidd; her daughter, Bonnie Kidd Henderson; and her brother and sister-in-law, Woodham and Pearl Rhodes.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pinecrest Baptist Church of Cordele.

Lunsford Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

Myrtice Sangster

Eldridge

CORDELE -- Funeral services for Myrtice Sangster Eldridge were held at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Dr. Richard Hughes officiated the services.

Shirley Hughes, pianist, provided soft music for the service and accompanied Dr. Hughes and herself as they sang "When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder" and "That Glad Reunion Day."

Pallbearers were Bill Priest, Tim Coleman, Rick Shehan, Gerald Newsome and Lee Newsome.

Burial followed in the Bay Spring Baptist Church Cemetery.

Hughes & Wright Funeral Home was in charge of these arrangements.

Mildred N. Gray

HAWKINSVILLE -- Funeral services fro Mildred N. "Nanny" Gray, 93, of 139 Loggins Road, Hawkinsville will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 18, 2004, in Browndale Baptist Church in Pulaski County. Burial will follow in Walnut cemetery in Unadilla.

Mrs. Gray dided Monday, February 16, 2004, at her residence.

Born in Cherokee County, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late James Simuel Eugene Nation and Arbelia Helton Nation. She was a homemaker, a member of Browndale Baptist Church and the widow of Dillard Gray. Her son, Jim Gray preceded her in death.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Sinyard and Sharon Proctor of Hawkinsville; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

The family will greet friends at the funeral home from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, February 17, 2004.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Browndale Baptist Church, c/o/ Frank Yansom, Route 4 Box 11450, Hawkinsville. Ga. 31036.
