TIFTON -- Funeral services for Rev. Elijah Smith of Tifton will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2004, at Travelers Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 709 S. Ridge Ave., Tifton. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.
Rev. Smith died Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004 in Tifton.
Rev. Smith was Pastor of Odum Grove Baptist Church, Cordele.
He is survived by his wife Corinthia Alexander Smith; two sons; Elijah John Smith II and David Jones, Jr., three daughters; Nakia N'Shea Hammock, Nadia Renee Smith and Madison Alexandria Smith; a mother; Charlie Mae Smith; father; Howard Pettiford; two sisters; Dorotha Green and Cynthia Pettiford, three brothers; Kenney Bennett, Antoniyo Bennett, and Matthew Fowler, three step brothers; Gregory Bennett, James Bennett, Jr., and Anthony Billington, a step sister; Keshia Slacks, and a grandmother; Mary G. Smith.

CORDELE -- Funeral services for Maxine Kelly Saturday, 94, will be held at 3 p.m. today, Feb. 13, 2004, in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery.
Mrs. Saturday died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, in Crisp Regional Health and Rehab.
A native of Bartow County, she was a homemaker and member of Harmony Baptist Church in Dooly County.
Survivors include three sons, Tommy Kelly of Cordele, Jimmy Kelly and Bobby Kelly both of Vienna; a daughter, Barbara Mays of Vienna; a brother, Keller Fortenberry; a sister, Ola Pinnion of Dalton; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Leroy Wiggins Sr.
VIENNA -- Funeral services for Leroy Wiggins Sr. will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, in the Little Creek Baptist Church in Byromville. Burial will follow in the Forest Chapel Church cemetery in Pinehurst. The Rev. Carlton Martin will officiate the services.
Mr. Wiggins died Saturday, Feb. 7, 2004, in Pinehill Nursing Center in Byromville.
He was the son of the late Artis and Mandy Williams Wiggins, and attended Dooly County schools. He worked as a farmer and Orlando Boating Company in Orlando, Fla.
Survivors include his children, Melister Wiggins and Leroy Wiggins Jr. of Lilly, and Vickie Collier of Cordele; his siblings, Shirley Granville of Pinehurst, Barbara Ann Lloyd of Lilly, John (Gloria) Wiggins of Dooling, Harold (Gladys) Woods of Orlando, Fla., Adolphia (Lillian) Woods of Winter Garden, Fla., and Carl (Yvonne) Woods of Daytona Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren and a host of other relatives.

ABBEVILLE -- Funeral services for Joyce Davis, 57, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, 2004, in Siloam Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery. The Revs. Tommy Baker and James Faircloth will officiate the services.
Ms. Davis died Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2004, in the Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.
Born Jan. 19, 1947, she was a native of Wilcox County and was the daughter of the late George Robert Davis Sr. and Nora Lee McKie Davis. She was a retired GM employee in Albany where she started employment in 1979. She became active in UAW Local 2404 where she served as recording secretary, CAP Chairperson, and on the Woman's Committee. She became employed with Saturn in 1991. She was a member of Siloam Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Bud McCall of Abbeville; a brother, Bo Davis of Fitzgerald; sisters, Ellen Bass of Vienna, Linda Keen of Abbeville, Diane Marchant of Milan, and Shelia Keen of Abbeville; 11 nieces and two nephews.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Sims died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004.

Mr. Toomer died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004.
Survivors include his lifelong companion, Mennie P. Miss Lamar died Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2004.
She was a retired educator with the Crisp County School System and was a faithful member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sister, Ethel Fuller of Cordele; a brother, Dr. Carl (Sonya) Lamar of Olympia Fields, Ill.; and many dear nieces and nephews.

Seabright Seay Wiggins
BYROMVILLE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Seabright Seay Wiggins, 89, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2003, in Turkey Creek Baptist Church, Lilly. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Baptist Church cemetery in Dooling. The Rev. Robert C. Taylor will officiate the services, directed by Alvie Coes Funeral Home of Unadilla.
Mrs. Wiggins died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, in Flint River Community Hospital.
A native of Dooly County, she was the daughter of the late Hardison and Mattie Seay. She was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
Survivors include four daughters, Mable Cannon of Tampa, Fla., Juliette (Bee) Hightower of Orlando, Fla., Mae Lois (Ollie) Green and Katherine Turner both of Vienna; three sons, Calvin (Sarah) Turner of Montezuma, A.C. (Eddie Mae) Turner and Johnny B. (Rhudene) McClendon both of Vienna; a brother, Pete (Etha) Seay of Lilly; a sister, Mattie Rhodes of Orlando; 29 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.

James Leon Gaines
CORDELE -- Funeral services for James Leon Gaines, 64, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the veterans section of Bethel Cemetery. The Rev. Charles Perry Jr. will officiate the services, directed by J.W. Williams Funeral Home.
Mr. Gaines died Saturday, May 17, 2003.
The processional will be led by the Rev. Charles Perry Jr. and Pastor Leroy Griffith. Scripture will be read by Rev. Perry. Marke Westbrook will give the prayer. Musical solos will be sung by Jack King, Larry Coleman and Anglia Anderson. Various friends will give words of reflection. The family will receive an heirloom Bible as a keepsake presented by the staff of J.W. Williams Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Gaines, Parece Gaines, Bobby Barner Jr., Larry Coleman, Kermit Green and Benjamin Green.He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
Survivors include his wife, Georgia Gaines of Cordele; four daughters, Vivian Gaines, Cynthia Felder and Susie Gaines all of Cordele, and Tonya Gaines of Belle Glade, Fla.; a son, Tony Gaines of Cordele; brothers, Jessie Gaines and Walter Gaines both of Cordele, Willie Henry Gaines of Jersey City, N.J., Moses Gaines of Belle Glade, Fla., Henry Gaines of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Roosevelt Gaines of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Jerry Gaines of Columbus; an aunt, Emma Melton of Ellaville; a devoted friend, Roosevelt Kendrick of Cordele; nine sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Sidney Paul Floyd
REYNOLDS -- Funeral services for Sidney Paul Floyd, 48, of Reynolds will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Free Run Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Free Run Cemetery. Bentley Funeral Home in Reynolds is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Floyd died Monday, May 19, 2003, in a Macon hospital.
He was a native of Taylor County. He held several jobs in construction, Southern Foods and Bibb Mill. Mr. Floyd was a member of Free Run Baptist Church.
He is survived by his mother, Lillie Mae Floyd of Reynolds; a sister, Florine Floyd of Ft. Valley; brothers, Earl (Shirley) Floyd of Reynolds, Perry (Angela) Floyd of Thomaston, Brown (Lawanna) Floyd, Howard Floyd, Richard Floyd all of Reynolds; one unclel two aunts; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
