MONTEZUMA — Funeral services for Doris Hawke McKinnon, 75, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, in Cedar Valley Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Felton Cemetery. The Revs. Daniel Burnette, Troy Fripp and Michael Truitt will officiate the services.
Mrs. McKinnon died Monday, Jan. 10, 2005.
Born on May 4, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Stewart Preston Hawke and Ida Jane Martin Hawke. She was a retired seamstress and a member of Cedar Valley Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everette Earl McKinnon, and a son, Larry Suggs.
Survivors include her daughter, Janet McKinnon, and her friend, Jimmy Collins of Montezuma; a brother, Douglas Hawk of Montezuma; sisters, Jeanette Borum of Unadilla, and Joyce Robbins of Oglethorpe; two grandchildren, Crystal Cromer Richards and Brian Richards; three great-grandchildren, Cassandra Richards, Allen McChargue and Allison McChargue; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Pate died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2005, at his residence following a brief illness.

CORDELE — Funeral services for Lossie Lee Parker, 64, will be held at 1 p.m. today, Jan. 11, 2005, in the chapel of Bentley Carson Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
Mr. Parker died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2005, in Sumter Regional Hospital in Americus.
A native of Palm Beach, Fla., he was a landscaper.

Horace Earl Cuffie
WARWICK — Funeral services for Horace Earl Cuffie, 52, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005, in the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses on Farmer’s Market Road. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery.
Mr. Cuffie died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, in a local hospital.
A native of Crisp County, he worked in agriculture.

William Richard Hammonds
LEBANON, Ohio — Graveside services with full military honors were held Jan. 4, 2005, at Dayton National cemetery in Dayton, Ohio, for William Richard Hammonds, a former resident of Cordele.
Mr. Hammonds, 61, died Jan. 1, 2005, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Rebecca, he was the son of Mrytle Davis Hammonds and the late Shirley Hammonds. He was retired from the United States Army and most recently, Proctor and Gamble.
Mr. Hammonds is survived by his wife, Ava Hammonds of Lebanon, Ohio; his children, Joy Hammonds of Lebanon, and Jerry Hammonds of Chicago, Ill.; a granddaughter, Crystal Hammonds of Lebanon; his mother, Myrtle Hammonds of Cordele; and his sisters, Betty Jean Nipper and Brenda Hammonds both of Cordele, and Estelle French of Texas.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest T. Hammonds.
Lucy Swearingen Noble
CORDELE — Graveside services for Lucy Swearingen Noble, 99, of Cordele will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 10, 2005, at the Vienna City Cemetery.
Mrs. Noble died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, in Crisp Regional Hospital.
Born in Dooly County, she was the daughter of the late William Everett Swearingen and Mary Conner Swearingen. She was retired from Western Union as an operator, was a member of Vienna United Methodist Church, the Woman’s Business Club and was the widow of the late Bennett A. Noble.
Survivors include a son, Bill Noble of Tinton Falls, N.J.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

VIENNA — Funeral services for Janice M. Ray, 47, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 9, 2005, in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Ray died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, in a local hospital.
Born in Cordele, she was the daughter of the late Robert Smith and Christine Newman Smith. She was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church and had worked as the assistant manager of Dollar Tree in Cordele.
Survivors include her husband, Winfred Ray of Vienna; sons, Walter Ray of Montezuma, and Richard Ray of Vienna; daughters, Crystal Ray and Lisa Ray both of Vienna; brothers, Robert Smith and Bruce Smith both of Vienna, Jerry Smith of Eatonton, Davis Smith of Pitts, Larry Smith of North Carolina, and Bobby Smith of Freeport, Fla.; and a grandchild, Somora Ray of Montezuma.

Earl Clarence Bradley Jr.
EASTLAND, Texas — Earl Clarence Bradley Jr., 80, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2005, in Eastland Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb.11, 1924, in Houston, Texas, to Louise and Earl C. Bradley Sr. He attended Texas A&M; University until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the outbreak of World War II. Upon his return, he earned a bachelor of arts degree in history and government from the University of Houston, but in his heart he was always an Aggie. During this time, he met the love of his life, Billye Bankston. They were married
on June 4, 1948. He lived the American Dream. After many years at Tyler Pipe and Foundry, he started his own business in 1964, Earl Bradley and Associates, his associates being his wife and four children. EBAA Iron has grown from a one man operation in Frisco, Texas, to employing more than 400 people in three foundries located in Eastland and Albany, Texas, and Cordele, Georgia. He was a Mason, a member of the First Presbyterian Church, the Eastland Hospital Board, the American Water Works Association and the American Foundry Society, receiving the AFS Freedom Founders Award. Greatly blessed, he never forgot from whom his blessings came. He was generous to his community and beyond, being instrumental in the preservation of the Majestic Theatre and the building of a new emergency room for the Eastland Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Billye Bankston Bradley; a sister, Ann B. Lorino of Houston; a cousin, Raymond Leslie Bradley of Houston; his four children and their spouses, all of Eastland, Leslie and Jim Keffer, E.T. and Maria Bradley, Jenni and Taylor Ford, and Jeff and Vicki Bradley; and six grandchildren, Brad, Chris, and Rob Keffer, Gene Bradley, Madison and Miles Bradley.
Visitation will be at Edwards Funeral Home today, Jan. 9 from 2-4 p.m.
A private burial will be held at 10 Shy, the family ranch. A memorial service is planned for Thursday, Jan. 13 at the Majestic Theatre in Eastland at 2 p.m. under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home in Eastland.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Eastland Memorial Hospital.
