Myrtice Smith Butler
ASHBURN — Funeral services for Myrtice Smith Butler, 92, formerly of Rochelle, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Dec. 30, 2004, in the M.G. Frazier Memorial Chapel of Frazier & Son Funeral Home, Rochelle. Burial will follow in Morningside Cemetery. The Rev. Brent Duncan will officiate the services. Mrs. Butler died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004.
Bobby Brock
ASHBURN — Funeral services for Bobby Brock, 69, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, in the Ashburn First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Brock died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, in Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany following a brief illness.
He was born in Turner County, the son of the late Ossie B. and Gladys Mixon Brock. He was a lifelong resident of Turner County and was a member of the Ashburn First Baptist Church. He served in the U.S. Army and was a retired operations manager for the Gold Kist Store in Ashburn.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Pate Brock of Ashburn; a daughter and son-in-law, Judy B. and Allen Whitehead of Ashburn; two granddaughters, Allison and Rebecca Whitehead of Ashburn; and one sister, Hazel B. Waldrip of Cordele.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Eulalia Snelling
PINEHURST — Graveside services for Eulalia Snelling, 85, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Dec. 30, 2004, at the Pinehurst City Cemetery.
Mrs. Snelling died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, in Winchester, Tenn.
Born in Camilla, she was the daughter of the late John Corbin Wilson and Nellie Victoria Whiting Wilson. She was a homemaker, a member of Pinehurst United Methodist Church and was the widow of the late Bill Snelling.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy (Bill) Rudder of Decherd, Tenn., and Syble (John Lee) Hobbs of Cordele; grandchildren, Michael Rudder, Paula Emery, Amy Rudder and Shelley Poppell; and great-grandchildren, William Rudder, Matthew Rudder, Caroline Emery, Cale Emery and Lee Poppell.
The family may be contacted after 10 a.m. at 459 Fullington Ave., Pinehurst.

Thomas Emory Clements
WARNER ROBINS — Funeral services for Thomas Emory Clements, 66, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services of Cordele. Burial will follow in Zion Hope cemetery in Crisp County.
Mr. Clements died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, following a brief illness.
He was born in Crisp County on Aug. 21, 1938, the son of Elizabeth Poole Clements and the late Thomas Jefferson Clements Jr. He served in the U.S. Navy and worked at Robins Air Force Base for more than 30 years before retiring as a logisticain. Mr. Clements was an avid HAM radio operator and a member of the Middle Georgia Radio Association (MGRA). His father and brother, Ray Dorsey Clements, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 47 years, Gloria Ann Jacobs Clements; children, Thomas David (Cheryl) Clements, Debra Carol Alexander and Elizabeth Ann (Michael) Cook all of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Thomas Jason Clements, Michael Scott Alexander, Jennifer Lynn (Steven) Parks, Stacey Ann Alexander, Joshuah Michael Cook and Michala Ann Cook all of Warner Robins; a great-granddaughter, Alexis Jade Alexander of Warner Robins; his mother, Elizabeth Poole Clements of Cordele; brothers, Lee Nelson Clements of Abbeville, Jerry William Clements and Walter Jefferson Clements both of Cordele; and a sister, Mary Ann Rinehart of Cordele.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today at McCullough Funeral Home, Warner Robins.

WARNER ROBINS — Funeral services for Ola Lue Ford of Warner Robins, formerly of Cordele, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, in the sanctuary of Gethsemane Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. The Rev. L.D. Cobb Sr. will officiate the services.
Mrs. Ford died Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2004.

Ottis ‘Red’ Dykes
ROCHELLE — Funeral services for Ottis “Red” Dykes, 71, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, in Tabernacle Baptist Church in Rochelle. Burial will follow in Cannonville Church cemetery in Abbeville. The Rev. Joel Owens will officiate the services.
Mr. Dykes died Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2004, in Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville.
Born in Jeff Davis County on Dec. 1, 1933, he was the son of the late Dewey Dykes and Maria Creamer Dykes. He lived the greater part of his life in Wilcox County and was an accountant and owner of R&R; Tax Service. He was a member of Cannonville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Smith Dykes.
Survivors include a son, Donnie Dykes of Rochelle; two daughters, Rhonda Richter of Pelham, and Sheila Davis of Cochran; three brothers, Allen Dykes of Milledgeville, Aubrey Dykes of Fitzgerald, and Marcus Dykes of Hazlehurst; and nine grandchildren.

Lorene Tripp
PINEVIEW — Funeral services for Lorene Tripp, 85, will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2004, in Friendship Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. The Revs. Michael Slaven and Jerry Jarrell and Bro. Louie Tripp will officiate the services.
Mrs. Tripp died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, in Taylor Regional Hospital in Hawkinsville.
Born Dec. 3, 1919, in Wilcox County, she was the daughter of the late James Frank Rhodes and Odessa Martin Rhodes. She was a retired seamstress, homemaker and caregiver. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church, the Ladies Sunday School Class and was a former member of the WMU and the Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Phillip Tripp; an infant son, James Morris “Sonny Boy” Tripp; and a brother, Olin F. Rhodes.
Survivors include two sons, Charles William (Cherry) Tripp of Birmingham, Ala., and Joseph Phillip (Judy) Tripp of Pitts; two brothers, Tharpe A. Rhodes of Pineview, and James F. Rhodes of Columbus; two sisters, Evelyn S. Johnson of Brunswick, and Betty Ruth Kicklighter of Glennville; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

William Oscar Blackwell
FITZGERALD — William Blackwell, 47, of Fitzgerald died at his residence on Monday, Dec. 27, 2004.
He was born Sunday, Sept. 1, 1957, in Cordele, the son of the late William Virgil Blackwell and the late Janie Lou Blackwell. Mr. Balckwell served in the United States Marines.
Funeral services will be held in the First Assembly of God in Fitzgerald today, Dec. 29, 2004, at 10 a.m.
He is survived by one daughter, Stacy Royals of Fitzgerald; four grandsons, Austin Royals, Jordan Hernandez, Alex Hernandez and Javier Hernandez all of Fitzgerald; one brother, J. W. Blackwell of Cordele; and four sisters, Janice Hayslip of Cordele, Martha Deal of Warwick, Eugenia Souter of Sumner, and Patricia Lanier of Fitzgerald.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Shirley Ann Neighbors.

CORDELE — Funeral services for A. M. “Coon” Helms were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. The Rev. Royce Freeman conducted the service.
Marcene Freeman, pianist, played soft music and accompanied Marjorie Dowdy as she sang “Rock Of Ages.” Rev. Freeman led the congregation as they sang “Amazing Grace” at the close of the service.
Pallbearers were Billy Helms, Ricky Royal, Keith Thompson, Terry Wayne Hauesler, Keith Youngblood and Autrey Moore.
Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Leatrice Maureen Wells
CORDELE — Funeral services for Leatrice Maureen Wells of Pineview were held Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. The Rev. Danny Allen and the Rev. Charles Lamb conducted the services.
Karen Thompson, pianist, played soft music and accompanied Papa’s Pride as they sang, “Amazing Grace” and “I Want Us To Be Together In Heaven.”
Pallbearers were David Selph, Lance Thompson, Verlin Cimmings, Andy Shurley, Mark McKinney and Bert Simmons.
Burial was in Zion Hope cemetery in Crisp County.
