SYLVESTER — Funeral services for Lillian Beasley Bass, 79, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Nov. 10, 2004, at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Ashburn. Perry Funeral Chapel of Ashburn has charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Bass died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, in Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany following a lengthy illness.
Gerald L. Owens
FITZGERALD — Funeral services for Gerald L. Owens, 63, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, in the chapel of Paulk Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove cemetery at Owensboro. Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home. Paulk Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Owens died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, in Coliseum Medical Center in Macon.
Benny Lee Cole
SYCAMORE — Funeral services for Benny Lee Cole, 55, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, in Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery.
Mr. Cole died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Born in Lowndes County, he had resided in Turner County for the last 25 years. He was the son of the late Leroy and Ossie Lee Ganas Cole. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and was retired a retired Georgia Department of Transportation Permit Inspector Engineer.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Solomon Cole of Sycamore; one son, Jason Cole of Sycamore; one daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Monty Pate of Sycamore; two grandchildren, Lexi and Ally Pate both of Sycamore; and one brother, Bobby Cole of Lake Park.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Cole, and a sister, Betty Shelley.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Aberdeen ‘Dean’ Parks
CECIL — Funeral services for Aberdeen “Dean” Parks, 75, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 12, 2004, in the chapel of Boone-Lipsey Funeral Home in Adel. Burial will follow in Fellowship Church cemetery with military honors. The Revs. James Young, Terry Colon and Roscoe Bennett will officiate the services.
Mr. Parks died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, in South Georgia Medical Center.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Cecil City Council, chiefs of Volunteer Fire Departments and the City of Adel Chief.
Born Jan. 25, 1929, in Rochelle, he had lived in Cecil since 1953. He was the son of the late William Russell Furman Parks and Ruby Odessa Allison Parks Garner. He was a member and deacon of Cecil Baptist Church and was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was retired from Parks Portable Welding and was chief of the Cecil Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He also served on the Cecil City Council and was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce, achieving the rank of Airman 1st Class.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Moore Parks of Cecil; a son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Amanda Parks of Cecil; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jenny Parks Longden of Cecil, Sherry and Lonnie Roberts and Marlene and Richard Webb all of Sparks; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Parks; one brother, four sisters and his step-father, W.S. “Sam” Garner.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, at the funeral home.

Russell M. Vaughan
CORDELE — Graveside services were held at the Vienna City cemetery for Russell M. Vaughan at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004. The Rev. Cham White officiated the service.
Pallbearers were Murphy Head, Brandon Vaughan, Caleb Vaughan, Alfred Davis, Pat Ayers and Johnny Davis.
“Go Rest High On That Mountain” and “Drinking From My Saucer” were played during the service.

Charles K. Gordon
VIENNA — Funeral services for Charles K. Gordon, 67, of Rochelle will held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 14, 2004, at Liberty Baptist Church with burial in Vienna City Cemetery.
Mr. Gordon died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, in an Americus hospital.
Born in Uvalda, he was the son of the late Harvey Truman Gordon and Voila Mullis Gordon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, a gas truck driver and attended Tabernacle Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a son, Bo Gordon; a son-in-law, Keith Stewart; and a sister, Lou Hazel Gordon.
Survivors include a daughter, Kim (David) Grantham of Vienna; a son, Chuck (Kay) Gordon of Vienna; a sister, Goldie Holt of Lawton, Okla.; brothers, Harvey (Vera) Gordon of Warner Robins and Jerry Mullis (Sandy) Gordon of Warner Robins; and grandchildren, Courtney Gordon, Kyndal Gordon and Chas Stewart.
The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the donor’s favorite charity.

UNADILLA — Graveside services for Gracie Dupree, the two-month-old daughter of Gerald Micek and Tiffany Dupree, will be held at 3 p.m. today, Nov. 12, 2004, at Walnut cemetery in Unadilla.
Gracie died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004.

CORDELE — Cindy Renee Wilkinson, 36, of Cordele died in Crisp Regional Hospital Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004.
She was born Friday, Aug. 16, 1968, in Blountstown, Fla., the daughter of Richard Auther Bishop and the late Marilynn Marie Keel Bishop.
Graveside services will be held at Cedar Creek cemetery in Crisp County at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 5, 2004.
She is survived by her husband, William Baker Wilkinson of Cordele; two sons, Nicholas Wilkinson and Zachery Wilkinson both of Cordele; her father, Richard Auther Bishop of Cordele; three step-sons, Billy Wilkinson, Jeffrey Wilkinson and Corbin Wilkinson all of Dearborn Heights, Mich; a step-daughter, Dawn Keen of Cordele; two brothers, Tommy Bishop of Americus, and Ricky Bishop of Cordele; three sisters, Sherry Handley of Cordele, Carol Wade of Warwick, and Terry Millien of Gonzales, La.; her paternal grandmother, Melzena Gordan of Gonzales, La.; and her mother-in-law, Joann Wilkinson of Cordele.
She was preceded in death by her step-son, David Wilkinson; a sister, Linda Gayle Bishop; and her maternal grandmother, Drucella Keel.

Woody Woodyard
CORDELE — A memorial service for Woody Woodyard was held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at Bethlehem Freewill Baptist Church. The Rev. Emory Howell conducted the service, and Rainey Family Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements.
Wynelle Adkins, pianist, accompanied the congregation as they sang “Victory In Jesus” and Rev. Howell sang “The Anchor Holds” and “I’m Drinking From My Saucer.” Others taking part in the song service were Faye Newton, “The First Day In Heaven"; Tim Perry, “Please Save My Children", “Go Rest High On That Mountain” and “The Lilly In My Valley"; Rev. Howell and Mr. Perry, “There Is A River"; Alazhia Wade, “Master Of The Wind” and “What Happened To Your Hands?"; Just Us, accompanied by Marcine Freeman, pianist, “God Still Answers Prayer", “I’m Free” and “The Lord Is My Shepherd". Remarks were given by Bill Woodyard, Jennifer Sprouse, Opal Hubbard, Carol Perry, Austin Holt, Misty Moore, Wayne Montford and Buddy Hayslip.
The service was closed when Dale Saunders gave the benediction.
Vera C. McKinney
CORDELE — Vera C. McKinney, 75, of Cordele died at her residence Friday, Nov. 5, 2004. She was born Tuesday, Jan. 8, 1929, in Seville and was the daughter of the late Miles McCoy Crumbley and Mattie Mae Dowdy Crumbley. She was the widow of Charles Thomas “Bo” McKinney.
Mrs. McKinney was a homemaker and a life-long member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at Ebenezer Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004. iIntermentwill follow at Ebenezer Cemetery.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Susan McKinney and Lonnie and Sandra McKinney, all of Cordele; a brother, Bennett Crumbley of Seville; two sisters, Jean C. Oglesby and Opal C. Warren, both of Cordele; and four grandchildren, Lyle McKinney, Stuart McKinney, Matt McKinney and Zack McKinney. She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Amanda McKinney; brothers, Robert Lee Crumbley and Joe Crumbley and sisters, Adelle Dupree, Lucille Brewer and Bertha Dalrymple.

CORDELE — Funeral services for Bessie Watson Clark were held Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home for Bessie Watson Clark. Burial followed in Seville Cemetery. The Rev. Joe Brookshire and the Rev. Lawton Sammons officiated the services.
Mrs. Ruth Cantrell, pianist, provided soft music for the service. She also accompanied Matthew Clark as he sang “Leaning On The Everlasting Arms” and Carol Register as she sang “Beulah Land.”
Pallbearers were Mrs. Clark’s grandsons: Mark Brown, Danny Clark, Allen Clark, Bryan Clark, Michael Clark and Christopher Clark. Mrs. Clark’s other grandchildren were honorary pallbearers.

CORDELE — Graveside services for Russell M. Vaughan will be held at Vienna City cemetery at 3 p.m., today, Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004.
Mr. Vaughan, a native of Dooly County, died Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, at the Cordele Health & Rehab. He was a retired truck driver and member of Morningside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife: Lounelle D. Vaughan of Cordele; a son and daughter-in-law: Davis (Teena) Vaughan of Cordele; a sister and brother-in-law: Loette (Elder Huey) Glisson of Wrightsville; a great aunt: Christine Vaughan of Cordele; and two grandsons: Brandon Vaughan and Caleb Vaughan both of Cordele.

WARWICK — Funeral services for G. B. Moore were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, at Warwick First Baptist Church. The Rev. Kevin Moore, the Rev. Deryl Odom and the Rev. Roy Gibbs conducted the service. Soft music was provided by Marilyn Bass, pianist. She also played “How Great Thou Art” and Wilma Smith sang “Sheltered In The Arms of God".
Pallbearers were Dwayne Forehand, Jimmy Freeman, Carlon Porter, Charles Mathis, Joey Swain and Danny Swain. The Rev. Odom conducted the committal service at Warwick Methodist Cemetery.
