CORDELE — Funeral services for Richard W. “Hacksaw” McCadams were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services with Rev. J.T. Smith officiating.
James Hurt gave the Eulogy. Marcene Freeman played soft music and accompanied Rev. Royce Freeman and herself as they sang “A Love That Wilt Not
Die”, “Peace In The Valley” and “Amazing Grace”.
Pallbearers were Ricky Rose, Richard Dotson, Marc Turner, Butch Schutt, Tony Wade and Thurman McGinnis. Larry Jack Nipper, James Hurt, Larry Johnson, Ray Hepner, George Hepner, Fred Fenn and Duaine Dickerson served as honorary pallbearers. Burial was in Zion Hope Cemetery.
Blake Edward Moore
CORDELE — Funeral services for Blake Edward Moore were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005 at the chapel of Hughes and Wright Funeral Home. Rev. Ray Burnette officiated the services with Blake’s 5th grade teacher, Reba Atkins, giving a eulogy. Burial followed in the Double Run Baptist Church cemetery with Rev. Royce Freeman officiating.
Billy White, pianist, provided soft music for the service and accompanied himself as he sand “Amazing Grace.” Corey Moore and Krisi Moore sang, “New Again” and Lexi Moore sang “Amazing Grace” at the cemetery site. The service began with the playing of “Old Time Rock and Roll” and “I Can’t Even Walk Without Holding your Hand” played during the service.
Pallbearers were: Derek Bailey, Evan Bailey, Josh Clark, Clint Crenshaw, Craig Crenshaw, Jeremy Crenshaw, and Hunter Moore. Honorary pallbearers were: Corey Moore, Seth Moore and Tyler Moore.
Hughes and Wright Funeral Home was in charge of these arrangements.
Jessie L. Sanders
CORDELE — Jessie L. Sanders, 92, died at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele Saturday, March 5, 2005.
Born Monday, December 16, 1912 in Tift County, she was the daughter of the late Jake Young and Ruthie Watson Young, and the widow of John Thomas Sanders, Sr. Mrs.Sanders was a homemaker and a member of the Church of Christ.
Funeral services will be held at Rainey Family Funeral Services Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at 4 p.m. iIntermentwill follow at Sunnyside cemetery in Cordele.
She is survived by a daughter, Viola Maddox of Cordele; three sons, John Thomas Sanders, Jr. and his wife, Glenda of Rebecca, Carl Edward Sanders and Wendell Lee Sanders and his wife, Lorraine, all of Cordele; ten grandchildren; 18 Great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
The family may be contacted at 401 East 8th Avenue, Cordele. They will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, March 7, 2005 from 6 until 8 p.m.

Annie Mae Mason Marlow
CORDELE — Funeral services for Annie Mae Mason Marlow will be held on Wednesday, March 9 at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary of the Power of Deliverance Church with Dr. Ulysses Morgan officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel cemetery.
Mrs. Marlow passed on March 3, 2005.
Survivors include her husband, Isiah Marlow, JR. of Cordele; son, Arderious C. Marlow of Cordele; sisters, Sheila Williams of Miami, FL, Rosa (Eddie) Sandres, Arlene (Wilbert) Thomas, Jacqueline (Alvester) Scott, and Annie Bell Fuller, all of Cordele; brothers, Cyrouse Davis of Decatur, Freddie Mason, Johnny Bernard Mason, Jeff (Mattie) Mason, Minister Johnny B. (Bobbie) Mason, and Willie Frank (Dorothy) Mason, all of Cordele; grandpareants, Elijah Graham and Annie Bell Turner Graham, both of Cordele; aunts and uncles, Josephine (Eugene) Crawford and Julie Mae Turner, both of Cordele; sister-in-law, Lillie Richard; brother-in-law, Robert Richard, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephew, cousins and special friends.

Dorothy Wadsworth Capps
SYCAMORE — Funeral services for Dorothy Wadsworth Capps, 80, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at the Chapel of McLamb-Morrison Funeral Home in Pembroke with burial to follow in the Lower Black Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Capps died Sunday at Tift Regional Medical Center after a short illness.
Mrs. Capps was a native of Bryan County, the daughter of the late Williams Perry and Tucy Lee Clanton. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert L. Wasworth in 1978, whom she was married
to for 37 years, and her second husband Clinton Capps in 1987, whome she was married
to for five years. She was a homemaker and a member of Sycamore Baptist Church and the Joy Sunday School Class.
Survivors include her children, Robert and Joyce Wadsworth of Springfield, Benjamine P. Wadsworth of Sycamore, Sandra and Larry MUse of Ashburn, Lynne W. and John Merritt, Patricia W. Tolbert, Donna W. and Randy Holley, Teresa W. and Wendell Lupo, all of Sycamore, and Pam W. and Johnny Whiddon of Morven; sister and brother, Bessie Bazemore of Pembroke and Mellie C. Clanton of savannah; thirteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters, William J. Clanton, Emma C. Shuman, Mildred C. Jones and Betty C. Floyd.
Visitation will be held tonight from 7-9 p.m. at McLamb-Morrison Funeral Home in Pembroke.
Bobbie K. Lavender
LAWRENCEBURG, TENN. — Bobbie K. Lavender, 89, died at Country Side Nursing Home in Lawrenceburg Saturday, March 5, 2005.
She was born Tuesday, February 29, 1916 in Cordele and was the daughter of the late Charlie Monroe Knott and Willie Lee Holliday Knott, and the widow of W.E. Lavender. She was a minister for the Church of God Of Prophecy.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. iIntermentwill follow at Cedar Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Lavender is survived by a nephew, Chuck Reed of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.

UNADILLA — Charles Reynold Torres, Jr., 56 died Thursday, February 24, 2005 at Carl Vinson VAMC in Dublin. Born January 26, 1949 in Key West, Fla. A Rosary was held at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church at 7 p.m. Friday, February 4, 2005. A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2005 at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church.

CORDELE — A graveside service for Omah J. Maddox was held at Sunnyside cemetery at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2005. Rev. Ray Burnette conducted the service and Rainey Family Funeral Service was in charge of the arrangements. Shearer Turton, soloist, sang “It Is Well With My Soul”.
Pallbearers were Jon Posey, Mitchell Posey, Tina Orrick, Alex Easom, Billy Hughes and Dwayne Orrick.

OAKFIELD — A graveside service for Thomas Victor “Tom” Pitts was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 6, 2005 at Seville Cemetery. Rev. James Spires conducted the service. The congregation sang “Amazing Grace”.

PANAMA CITY, FLA. — Alleen J. Rouse, 74, formerly of Rochelle, passed away Sunday in Brooks County from injuries substained in an automobile accident.

CORDELE — Cecelia D. Martin, 68, died at her residence Tuesday, March 8, 2005.
She was born Friday, September 11, 1936 in Cordele and was the daughter of the late Henry Carl Dockweiler and Ruth Lillian Dockweiler. She was a homemaker and a member of Penia Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services Thursday, March 10, 2005 at 4 p.m. iIntermentwill follow at Penia Baptist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Billy Martin of Cordele; her daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Richard Burnette of Cordele; grandsons, Matthew Burnette and Michael Burnette and his wife, Ashley, all of Cordele; granddaughter, Megan Burnette of Cordele; and her sister and brother-in-law, Patsy and Dwain Crumley. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Junior Dockweiler and Peter Dockweiler.

Nita Williams Rice
AMERICUS — Funeral arrangements for Nita Williams Rice will be held Thursday, March 10, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Aldridge Funeral Services in Americus. iIntermentwill follow in Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
She died Tuesday, March 8, 2005 at Magnolia Manor.
A native of Sumter County, she was the daughter of the late Eugene E. and Annie Mae Perry Williams. She was a retired inspector with Manhattan Shirt Company and she worked for Jason’s and Cohen’s. She was a member of Americus First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Helen Price Coleman of Dublin and Margaret Price (Don) Smith of Americus; two grandsons, Jimmy (Tracy) Black of Cordele and Scott Barry of Americus; two granddaughters, Jan Black (Bubba) East of Dublin and Laura Barry (Gil) Pittman of Americus; a sister, Ima W. Chappell of Americus; brother, Calvin Williams of Americus; seven great-grandchildren, Jake and Klyie Pittman of Leslie; Rob, Ben and Matt East of Dublin and Lauren Black of Cordele and Eric Meadows of Cordele; and two step granddaughters, Tami (Scott) Colter and Cheri (Dewey) Paradise, both of Americus.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5-7p.m. at Aldridge Funeral Services.
