Linda Faye Ford

ALBANY - Funeral services for Linda Faye Ford of Albany, formerly of Warwick, will be held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 2006, in the chapel of J.W. Williams Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Red Oak Cemetery, Doles. The Rev. Donnie R. Hall will officiate the services.

Ms. Ford died Feb. 7, 2006.

The processional will be led by Rev. Hall and a solo will be sung by Earl Clark Jr. Prayer and Scripture readings will be given by Rev. Hall or an appointee. Reflections will be given by family members and friends and the family will be presented with an African-American heirloom Bible as a keepsake from the funeral home staff.

Survivors include her daughters, Yalanda Ford and Tamika T. Ford both of Albany, and Khalij G. Ford of Newark, N.J.; sisters, Vivain F. (Kenny) Banks of Leesburg, Fla., and Thelma Lane of Pehokee, Fla.; brothers, David Ford II and Carthon L. Ford both of Rochester, N.Y.; aunts and uncles, Ola Mae Tyson and Catherine (Doc) Gervin both of Warwick, Corine Butler, Rosie (J.W.) Hamilton and Shirley Ford all of Cordele, Izella Griggs of Rochester, N.Y., Clara Ray of Tampa, Fla., and Mamie Daniels of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; a great-aunt, Rudean (Woodrow) Bivins of Cordele; three grandchildren, Akeem, Xavier, Kha-asia and one that's unborn.

Ethel Lee Butts

CORDELE - Funeral services for Ethel Lee Butts of Cordele will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 11 a.m. in the auditorium of A.S. Clark School. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery. Elder Fred Williams will officiate the services.

Mrs. Butts died Saturday, April 22, 2006.

Survivors include children, Annie White of Athens, Ceola Johnson of Albany, Eula Ray, Charlie Mae Butts, Ethel (Michael) Flowers, Debra Ann Wheeler, Lonnie B. Butts, Charlie C. (Darnetta) Butts, Grady Lee (Patricia) Butts, all of Cordele; one sister, Mae Bell Newberry of Albany; step-sisters, Clara (William) Broooks of Cordele, Ina Williams, Lula Johnson, Sue Ellen Williams, all of Tampa, FL; step-brothers, Arnell White of Athens, Jessie White, Jr. of Cordele; Aunts, Minnie Lee Royal, Lucy Bell Fields, all of Warwick; Sister-in-law, Eloise Butts of Cordele; 36 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, 13 great, great grandchildren. Cecil James 'Sonny' Lango

CORDELE - Funeral services for Cecil James Lango better known as 'Sonny' of Vienna will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 2:30 p.m. in the Sanctuary of the Bethel Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery. Rev. Dr. Bobby G. West, will officiate the services.

Mr. Lango died Sunday, April 23, 2006.

Shirley Ann Morgan Patrick

BEAUFORT, S.C. - Funeral services for Shirley Ann Morgan Patrick, 59, of Beaufort, S.C., will be held Saturday, April 29, 2006 at 11 a.m. at Brick Baptist Church, St. Helena Island. Burial will be at 5 p.m. at Gum Creek cemetery in Cordele.

Mrs. Patrick Tuesday, April 25, 2006 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

Mrs. Patrick was born December 10, 1946 in Crisp County, the daughter Marie Street Morgan and Albert Morgan.

She was a graduate of A. S. Clark High School in Cordele and Albany State University. While at Albany State she reigned on the Homecoming Court. After matriculating at Albany State, she was one of the first African-Americans hired as a Flight Attendant for Delta Airlines. After her marriage, she moved to South Carolina. She was formerly employed by South Carolina State University (then SC State College), Technical College of the Lowcountry (then Beaufort Technical College) and later became an entrepreneur. Previously, she was affiliated with Brick Baptist Church, St. Helena Island, Zont and the Lion's Club.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, John L. Patrick, Jr.; her godson, Gregory Whittaker, II; her adopted mother, Lillie Mae Street of Beaufort, S.C.; three sisters, Lillie Vivian Morgan Watts of Santa Monica, Ca., Malendia Morgan Turner of Atlanta, and Marie Louise Morgan Hall of Fayetteville; one brother, Alfred Alexander Morgan of Conyers, and other relatives.

The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.

Marshel's Wright-Donaldson Home for Funerals, 1814 Green St, Beaufort, S.C. will be in charge of the arrangements.

Barbara Wiggins Lloyd

LILLY - Funeral services for Barbara Wiggins Lloyd, 56, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 26, 2006, in Forest Chapel Baptist Church in Pinehurst. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Coley Clark Jr. will officiate the services.

Mrs. Lloyd died Thursday, April 20, 2006, in Crisp Regional Hospital.

She was the daughter of the late Mandy and Artis Wiggins Sr. and attended Dooly County Schools. She was a domestic worker and member of Forest Chapel Baptist Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Brenda L. Burden of Lilly; a son, Arthur J. Lloyd of Pinehurst; a sister, Shirley Granville of Pinehurst; a brother, John H. (Gloria) Wiggins of Dooling; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; an aunt, Mattie Breedlove of Vienna; an uncle, E.B. Leary of New York; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Nancy Allen

ALPHARETTA - Funeral services for Mrs. Nancy Allen, 62, of Alpharetta, were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 6, 2006 in the chapel of Louie E. Jones Funeral Home. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2006 at the Vienna City Cemetery. The Rev. A.B. Hatfield and the Rev. Jeff Witcher will officiate.

Mrs. Allen died Thursday, May 4, 2006.

Survivors include her daughter, Paula (John) Lyman of Duluth; son, Greg (Jennie) Allen of Ball Ground; mother, Margie Lamb of Lily; sisters, Annette (Marvin) Franklin of Eatonton, Carol (Larry) Pearce of Byron, Barbara Snyder of Rossville; grandchildren, Parker and Warren Allen and J.P. Lyman.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Friday, May 5, at Louie E. Jones Funeral Home.

Hewlett N. Bartlett

CORDELE - Funeral services were held for Hewlett N. Bartlett at 11 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2006 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Rev. Jack Dowdy and Rev. Royce Freeman officiated the services. Burial followed in the Sunnyside cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Youngblood officiating.

"Stroll Over Heaven" and "The Eastern Gate" was sung by Rev. Freeman and Marcene Freeman, pianist. She also accompanied Raymond Gibbs as he led a congregational song, "Just A Closer Walk With Thee."

Pallbearers were Raymond Gibbs, Gary Hickox, Allen Hickox, Jerry Raines, Alton Churchwell and Marcus Wehunt. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Northern Heights Baptist Church Brush Arbor Singers.

Hughes & Wright Funeral Home was entrusted with these arrangements.

Warren L. 'Bunt' Taylor Sr.

TIFTON - Funeral services for Warren L. 'Bunt' Taylor, Sr., 65, of Tifton will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 7, 2006 at Banks Funeral Chapel in Sylvester. Burial will follow at Wright's Chapel cemetery with the Rev. Edward Mimbs and Rev. Teddy Hubbard officiating.

Taylor died Thursday, May 4, 2006 at Tift Regional Medical Center.

The family received friends Saturday, May 6, 2006 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Banks Funeral Home in Sylvester.

Forrest White

TIFTON - Funeral services for Forrest White, 84, of Tifton will be held at 4:30 p.m., Sunday, May 7, 2006 at Banks Funeral Chapel in Sylvester with the Rev. Jason Willis officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery.

Born in Worth County May 30, 1921, he lived in Tifton the last 38 years and worked as a pest control technician. His hobby and passion were his miniature horses. He was a member of Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Sheppard White of Tifton; step-daughters, Leita and Carlton Daniel of Tifton, Paula Leggett of Rochelle; brothers, Duboise White of Fitzgerald, Dovard and Nell White of Sylvester, Hollis and Garland White of Americus, Beryl and Sandra White of Albany; granddaughters; Cameron Gibbs, Courtney Glover, Brittany Moore; great grandchildren, Ashley Glover, Brandon Glover, Bethany Glover and Hannah Gibbs.

The family received friends Saturday, May 6, 2006 from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m. at Banks Funeral Home in Sylvester.
