HAWKINSVILLE — Graveside funeral services for Dollie L. Long, 95, will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 3, 2006 at Pulaski -Bleckley Memorial Gardens. the Rev. Doctor Gary Abbott and rev. Don McClung will officiate.
Mrs. Long died Thursday, June 29, 2006.
Mrs. Long was a native of Irwin County but lived most of her life in Pulaski County. She was a member of the Hawkinsville First Baptist church and the Faith Sunday School class. Preceding her in death were her husband, William Edward Long; parents, Homer Joseph and Maggie Douglas Love of Pulaski County and a brother, Cecil Joseph Love of Warner Robins.
Survivors include two sons, William Kenneth (Sara) Long Sr. of Cordele, Thomas Edward (Sandra) Long of Perry; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express their appreciation to the doctors and staff at the Perry Hospital and the Serenity Gate (hospice of Houston County). Contributions can be made to the Hawkinsville First Baptist Church Building Fund or Serenity Gate Hospice in Perry.
Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. today at Clark Funeral Home.

Joseph Jackson Morrow
CORDELE — Joseph Jackson Morrow, 89, went home to be with his Lord Friday, June 30, 2006 at a Cordele Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 3, 2006, at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Perry, GA. iIntermentwill follow at Perry Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 - 6 p.m. today.
Rev. Morrow was born to the late Inzie (Matchett) and Joseph Jackson Morrow, Sr. on January 20, 1917 in Fort Ogden, Florida. Rev. Morrow was an alumnus of Mercer University of Macon, a retired Southern Baptist pastor, and also retired from Robins Air Force Base. He was a World War II veteran, a member of the Civilian Conservation Corp., and a member of the American Legion Post in Perry. Rev. Morrow pastored churches including Richland Baptist Church in Florida, Dames Ferry Baptist Church, New Haven Baptist in Gordon, Marie Baptist in Dublin, Cool Springs Baptist, Summertown Baptist, First Baptist Church of Haynesville, Riverside Baptist Church in Hawkinsville, Houston Lake Baptist Church in Perry, Hemptown Baptist in Morganton, Community Baptist and Midway Baptist in Perry. He retired after 50 years in the ministry, but continued to serve God by teaching Sunday school to residents at Autumn Terrace Assisted Living as well as several shut-ins.
Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Ilene S. Morrow, Cordele; two sons; Jack (Johnnie) Morrow of Savannah and Allen (Nickie) Morrow of Cordele; two daughters; Randa (Willard) Parker of Perry and Alyce (Gregg) Banks of Lizella; brothers; Arthur (Loraine) Morrow of Florida and Hilliard (Carolyn) Morrow of North Carolina; sister; Oma Lee Gray of Florida; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceeded in death by his parents, a sister, Aileen Mardis, a brother, Mervin Morrow, and a brother-in-law, James (Pete) Gray.

Jack A. Powers
VIENNA - Funeral services for Jack A. Powers, 79, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2006, in the Vienna United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Cordele.
Mr. Powers died Friday, June 23, 2006, at his residence.
Born in Dooly County, he was the son of the late Noah Powers and Felton Fraser Powers. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Vienna United Methodist Church. Mr. Powers was a former Vienna City Councilman, worked at the Vienna News and started Dooly County's first broadcast radio station, WWWN. He was a Mason and a member of the Bagdad Club.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Powers of Vienna; a son, Jeffry (Deidre) Powers of Bolingbroke; brothers, Harold Powers of Athens, Sam A. Powers Sr. and Marvin Powers of Cordele, Doyle Powers and Ed Powers of Macon; and two grandchildren, Jeffry Powers Jr. and Eboni Powers.
His sister, Helen Herndon, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

CORDELE - Funeral services for Veteran Charles Stembridge will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 1, 2006, in the sanctuary of Davis Chapel CME Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Lorenda Ray will officiate the services.
Mr. Stembridge died Thursday, June 22, 2006.
The processional will be led by Rev. Ray and the church choir will sing a selection. The Rev. Ivory J. Corbin will offer prayer and Scripture will be read by the Revs. L.D. Cobb Sr. and Freddie Harrington. A solo will be rendered by Gloria Spann and reflections will be given by family members and friends. The choir will sing another selection and the family will be presented with an African-American heirloom Bible as a keepsake from the funeral home staff.

Mrs. Trotter died Sunday, June 25, 2006.

Irene T. Ellis
VIENNA - Funeral services for Irene T. Ellis were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2006, in Smyrna Baptist Church. Burial followed in Sunnyside Cemetery. The Rev. Rodney Bradford officiated the services. Mrs. Ellis' grandson, Mike Ellis, and great-grandson, Tucker Ellis, gave eulogies.
Mrs. Ellis' daughter-in-law, Connie Ellis, played the prelude and postlude on the organ. Eula Jo Sheffield, pianist, accompanied The Slade Family as they sang 'Because He Lives.' Great-grandson, Tucker Ellis, sang 'I Bowed On My Knees and Cried Holy' to taped accompaniment.
The following grandsons served as pallbearers: Jason Ellis, Jarrold Ellis, Kyle Ellis, Bill Ellis, Michael Ellis, Brad Ellis, Keith Ellis and Tripp Smith.

Claude Hampton Meadow III
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Claude Hampton Meadow III, affectionately known as 'Chip' by his family and friends, passed away on June 3, 2006, at the age of 53.
Chip, the beloved husband of Cathy Fricke Meadow and father of Devin Joshua Meadow, Jacksonville/Fruit Cove, Fla., is also survived by his aunt, Mary Carolyn Meadow Roberts, Cape Canaveral, Fla.; aunt, Genevieve B. Meadow, Weslaco, Texas; stepmother Janet T. Meadow, Gainesville, Fla.; and, cousins Charles J. Meadow Jr., Parker, Colo., Martha M. Burton, Houston, Texas, Eric Roberts, Newtown, Pa., and Shannon Roberts, Cape Canaveral, Fla.
Chip was preceded in death by his parents, Claude H. Meadow Jr. and Sally Wallace Meadow, his uncle, Charles J. Meadow Sr., and his grandparents, Claude H. Meadow Sr. and Maye T. Meadow of Cordele.
Chip was born in Queens, N.Y.; however, he spent most of his life in the Jacksonville area, contributing to the community in many ways. He was a kind, gentle and thoughtful person who was greatly loved by his family, friends and co-workers. He was highly regarded by his employers for his professionalism, integrity and customer focus and for his exceptional selling abilities.
Graveside memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, June 18, 2006, at the Sunnyside Cemetery, Cordele.
Remembrances or donations can be sent in lieu of flowers to The Humane Society.

Annie Mason Fuller
CORDELE - Funeral services for Annie Mason Fuller will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2006, in the sanctuary of the Power of Deliverance Church. Burial will follow in Bethel cemetery with her brother, Elder Johnny B. Mason, officiating.
Ms. Fuller died Monday, June 12, 2006.
The processional will be led by Dr. Ulysses Morgan Jr. and a selection will be rendered by the Power of Deliverance Echoes of Praise. Dr. Morgan will offer prayer and Scripture will be read by Bishop Arthur West and Elder Calvin Haugabrook. BRADENTON, Fla. - Funeral services for Joe Ervin III, 41, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 17, 2006, in the Church of the Living God Full Gospel Ministry in Unadilla. Burial will follow in the Mt. Moriah cemetery in Unadilla. Pastor James Williams will officiate the services.
Mr. Ervin died Sunday, June 11, 2006, in Manatee Memorial Hospital.
Born in Jacksonville, Fla., he was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church and attended Dooly County Schools.
Survivors include his mother, Geraldine Ervin of Unadilla; his father, Joe Ervin Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla.; four sisters, Dorolene Ervin and Tammie (Lurry) Brown of Unadilla, Dewanna (Obuku) Anderson of Vienna, and Leana Adams of Jacksonville, Fla.; three brothers, Thomas (Terra) Ervin of Palmetto, Fla., Sgt. Stanley (Nickie) Ervin of Iraq, and Joe James of Jacksonville, Fla.; his grandmother, Annie B. Ervin of Unadilla; nine aunts; nine uncles and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Verna R. Belflower
ALBANY - Funeral services for Verna R. Belflower, 91, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 19, 2006 at Kimbrell-Stern. The Rev. Dr. William E. (Butch) Knight will officiate. iIntermentwill be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 20, 2006 at Oakridge cemetery in Tifton.
Mrs. Belflower died Thursday, June 15, 2006, at her home.
A native of Crisp County, she was a longtime resident of Albany. Mrs. Belflower was a member of the First Baptist Church of Albany, was an avid bridge player, and was very active at the Albany YMCA. She was retired from Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. She was preceded in death by four brothers, and her husband, Jack E. Belflower.
Survivors include her son, Estol (Beth) Belflower of Juneau, Alaska; daughter, Janet (Don) Hegenderfer of Glendale, Arizona; and two sisters, Lila Ray and Belta Shiver, both of Cordele. She is also survived by a circle of loving friends and caregivers that enabled her to remain in her own home.

He died at Crisp Regional Hospital on Saturday, June 17, 2006.
He was born on Wednesday, September 17, 1941, in Cordele.
He is survived by two sisters Virginia Brown of Cordele and Linda Williams of Barnesville. He was preceded in death by three brothers Herbert McKinney, J.D. McKinney, and Jerry McKinney.
