CORDELE — Funeral services for Patricia Aspinwall, 67, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oakfield Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Aspinwall died Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, in Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
A native of Wilcox County, she was a retired homemaker and caregiver.
Survivors include three sons, Mike (Peggy) Wright of Oakfield, Jimmy (Rhonda) Wright and Steve (Janie) Wright of Cordele; four step-children, Jerry Aspinwall of Lilly, Scotty Aspinwall and Shirley Powers both of Cordele, and Diane Dixon of Albuquerque, N.M.; a brother, Kendall Crenshaw of Oakfield; a sister, Anothenette Posey of Doles; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Hughes & Wright Funeral Home of Cordele has charge of the arrangements.
Martha King Deese
AMERICUS — Martha King Deese, 80, of Americus died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006 at Magnolia Manor. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Benjamin Franklin Hayslip
WARWICK — Graveside services for Benjamin Franklin Hayslip of Warwick will be held at 2 p.m. today at Ebenezer cemetery in Crisp County.
Mr. Hayslip, 89, died in Cordele Health and Rehab Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006.
He was a native of Crisp County, the son of the late Charles Elbert Hayslip and Barbara Ann White Hayslip. Mr. Hayslip was a retired commercial fisherman and a member of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by three sons, Charles Oscar Hayslip and Ralph Hayslip, both of Cordele and B.F. Hayslip Jr. of Warwick; five daughters, Christine H. Cobb, Barbara McCarty and Deborah Pittman, all of Cordele, Connie Gonzales of Vienna, and Sheila Matthews of Poulan; 11 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie Lee Hayslip.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service from 12:30-1:30 p.m.

Leon Usry Jr.
CORDELE - Graveside funeral services for Leon Usry Jr., 73, of Cordele will be held Saturday, Dec. 2 at 1 p.m. in Sunnyside Cemetery. The family will greet friends and relatives at Hughes & Wright Funeral Home tonight from 6 to 8 p.m.
Mr. Usry, a native of Glascock County, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, at his residence. He was born on Thursday, June 22, 1933, the son of the late Leon Usry and the late Lillian Laster Usry. A self-employed plumber, Mr. Usry served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 and was a veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Usry of Cordele; his sons, Johnny Lee (Candace) Usry of Ohio, Tony Leon Usry of Jacksonville, FL., Roger Lynn Usry and Charles Albert (Tina) Supers, all of Cordele; a brother, Ray Usry of Mitchell; three sisters, Inez Davis of Warrenton, Sara Gay of Gibson, and Nora Turner of Irwinton; his grandchildren, Dillon Tony Usry of Jacksonville, FL., Rachel Ashleigh Supers and Emily Jo Supers, both of Cordele.

CORDELE — Graveside funeral services were held for Leon Usry Jr. at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, 2006. The Rev. Gill Tripp officiated the service. Burial followed in the Sunnyside Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Mr. Usry’s sons, Johnny Lee Usry, Tony Leon Usry, Roger Lynn Usry and Charles Albert Supers.

Winifred Elise Rogers
PERRY — Funeral services for Winifred Elise Rogers of Perry will be held at 3 p.m. today in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow at Sunnyside Cemetery.
Ms. Rogers, 90, died in Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006.
She was born Saturday, April 8, 1916, in Dooly County, the daughter of the late Floyd Jackson Rogers and Maggie Mae Pilkinton Rogers. Ms. Rogers was a member of Perry First Baptist Church and the Jewel Sunday School Class. She was a retired desk clerk for the New Perry Hotel, a member of the Perry Business Women’s Club and the XYZ Club.
She is survived by several cousins including Beverly Thomas and her husband, Rodney and Patricia Peavy and her husband, Quinton, all of Vienna.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Mildred Rogers and Elmer Rogers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 1:30 p.m. until the hour of the service.

Winifred Elise Rogers
CORDELE — Funeral services for Winifred Elise Rogers of Perry were held at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, 2006, in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services with the Rev. Tommy Brett officiating.
Beth Watson, pianist, played soft music and accompanied Rev. Brett as he sang “How Beautiful Heaven Must Be.” A medley of songs, which included “O What A Saviour, ” was played by Rodney Thomas, pianist.
Pallbearers were Rodney Thomas, Quinton Peavy, Josh Barfield, Greg Speight, Joe Barfield and Kenny Lynch.
Burial followed at Sunnyside Cemetery.

Lydia Pittman
August 28, 1941 - June 15, 2007
Lydia Nell "Pat" Pittman, 65, of 179 Martin Loop Rd., Cartersville passed away Friday, June 15, 2007 at the Floyd Medical Center. Born August 28, 1941, Mrs. Pittman was a native of Bartow County and was a member of Blue Springs Baptist Church. She was the daughter of Rebecca Poole Hasting and the late Cleveland Eugene Poole. Although she had been physically disabled for several years, Mrs. Pittman had a good sense of humor and valued honesty. She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother and will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her sister, Margie Poole, and her brothers, Lonnie Poole and Earl Poole.
Survivors include her husband of 45 years, Tommy Junior Pittman; her children and their spouses, John and Brenda Pittman of Cartersville, Jack and Gail Pittman of Cartersville, Jeff and Judy Pittman of Acworth, and Julie and Francisco Pittman of Kennesaw; her mother, Rebecca Poole Hasting of Cartersville; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy and Marlene Poole of Ellijay and Paul and Patricia Poole of Waleska; her sisters and brother-in-law, Kathy Gravley of Woodstock, Martha and Jimmy Mitchell of Cartersville and Ellen Bost of Greenville, North Carolina; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 14 nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will gather to celebrate her life on Sunday, June 17, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services with Rev. David Abernathy and Rev. David Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at the Old Macedonia Cemetery. Mrs. Pittman's nieces will serve as pallbearers: Shelby Price, Becky Rivers, Penny Davenport, Aliesha Davenport, Jessica Loading, and Jennifer Denson.

Mr. Montford died Monday, Nov. 27, 2006, in Crisp Regional Nursing and Rehab.

MARTINEZ — Funeral services for Lillius Rudolph Spears, 88, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3 in Preston United Methodist Church in Preston.

Mr. Spears, a native of Vienna, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, University Hospital in Augusta.
June Rutherford Turner Dixon
LAKE CITY, Fla. — Graveside memorial services for June Rutherford Turner Dixon, 69, formerly of Rochelle, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8 in Morningside cemetery in Rochelle. The Rev. Brett Jarriel will officiate.
Mrs. Dixon died Sunday, Nov. 26, 2006.
Born Feb. 2, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Kermit Rutherford and Mary Opal McGlamory Rutherford Fisher. She was a graduate of Wilcox Central High School and had lived for the past 15 years in Lake City, Fla. She was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her sons, Michael Turner of Douglasville, Ricky Turner of Evans Mills, N.Y., and Greg Turner of Merrimack, N.H.; brothers, Derrell Rutherford of Rochelle, Terry Rutherford of Morganton and Jimmy Rutherford of Cumming; sisters, Faye Willingham of Andersonville, and Jane Rutherford of Plano, Texas; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
