Vincent E. Fallin
VIENNA — Funeral services for Vincent Edward Fallin, 16 of Vienna will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Cordele Church of God. iIntermentwill follow in Sunnyside Cemetery.
Born in Americus, he was an eleventh grade student at Dooly County High School and a member of Cordele Church of God. Vincent was the command Sergeant Major in the Bobcat Battalion with the JROTC, was Assistant Commander of the Raider Team and Commander of the Rifle Team. He enjoyed writing poetry, drawing, listening to music and playing the Porcelain Flute.
He is survived by his parents, DeWayne and Barbara Fallin of Vienna; a Brother, Patrick Fallin of Vienna; maternal grandparents, Pat and Edward Pearson of Vienna; paternal grandparents, Lewis Fallin of Albany and EuniceFallin of Sylvester. Several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
The family will greet friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the JROTC Program at Dooly County High School, 715 North Third Street, Vienna, Georgia 31092.

Katie Mae Posey Odom
WARWICK — Funeral services for Katie Mae Posey Odom, 92, of Warwick, will be held Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Odom-Story cemetery at Warwick.
Mrs. Odom was born in Crisp County on Saturday, May 9, 1914. She died Monday, Dec.11, 2006, at Crisp Regional Nursing and Rehab. She was the daughter of the late Charlie Dennis Posey and the late Annie Della Lewis Posey. She was a homemaker and member of Acorn Pond Baptist Church.
Surviving her are sons Truitt Odom and his wife Ann and J. B. Odom, Jr. and his wife Carolyn, all of Warwick; a sister: Ruby Posey Moore of Ashburn; three grandchildren: Carmon Odom and Jack Odom III, both of Warwick and Truitt Odom, Jr. of Cordele; and a great-granddaughter, Grace Odom of Cordele.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6- 8 p.m. tonight.

COLLEEN WILSON ALLRED
April 30, 1916 - August 13, 2010
Colleen Wilson Allred, 94, of Cartersville passed away Friday, August 13, 2010 at the Maple Ridge Health Care Center. Born April 30, 1916 in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Carter Ferris Wilson and the late Lula Belle Bryant Wilson. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband T.H. Allred; three brothers, Glenn Wilson, Ray Wilson, and Robert Wilson; and her sister, Mattie Leah Tatum; and by her daughter-in-law, Kristy Allred.
Mrs. Allred was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cartersville where she loved singing in the choir. Her love for music and her God-given talent allowed Mrs. Allred to perform for many years as a soloist. She also sang in quartets with her husband for years. Mrs. Allred enjoyed quilting and creating ceramics. Outside of her love for her family and home, she had owned and operated a restaurant that was located across the street from EZ Mills where she had also been employed as a seamstress.
Mrs. Allred leaves to cherish her memory her children and their spouses, Cynthia Allred and Jim Price of Fairburn, Jim and Cindy Allred of Dalton, Ted Allred of Fayetteville, and Vic and Angela Allred of Dalton. She was also blessed with her grandchildren and their spouses, Tim and Anita Allred, Tish and Randy Parker, Joe Allred, Gregory and Tina Allred, Paige Allred, Jarrod Allred and Tara Kline, Jason and Katrina Allred, Jasmine Allred, and Victoria Allred; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Allred was the oldest child in a close and devoted family of thirteen. She is survived by her brothers and sisters and their spouses, Ethel Monroe, Hillard and Jean Wilson, Senate and Dottie Wilson, Sue and Wesley Lipscomb, Frances and Jimmy Bingham, Betty and Ron Richards, Billy and Claudine Wilson, and Carol and Clarence Brown, all of Cartersville. Survivors also include a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 16, 2010 in the chapel of Parnick Jennings Funeral Home and Cremation Services. Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens. Serving as pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Margaret B. Broxton
LUTZ, FL — Funeral services for Margaret B. Broxton, 92, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13 in the First Baptist Church of Unadilla. Burial will follow in Walnut Cemetery.
Mrs. Broxton died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, in Tampa, Fla.

VIOLA COONS AYER
March 12, 1926 - October 9, 2009
Viola Coons Ayer, 83, died Friday, October 9, 2009 in Clearwater, Florida. Born March 12, 1926 in Huntsville, Alabama, she was a daughter of the late Harry Joshua Coons and the late Sue Taylor Coons. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Harry Coons, Jr.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Howard Hinesley and Ann and Steve Wiggins; her son and daughter-in-law, Ric and Lynn Ayer; her sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Joe McDaniel; her sister-in-law, Alleda Coons; her grandchildren, Suzanne Hinesley, Elizabeth Gettig, Jay Hinesley, Caroline Sandel, Raley Wiggins, Elizabeth Whitehead, and Meade Ayer; three great-granddaughters; and her nieces and nephews.
A native of Huntsville, Alabama and a graduate of Auburn University, Columbia University, and the University of Alabama, Mrs. Ayer served as principal of East Clinton School until she relocated to Tuscaloosa where she joined the faculty of the University of Alabama as a reference librarian and Assistant Professor. An active member of Christ Episcopal Church in Tuscaloosa, she was a member of the Daughters of the King and the Bell Choir. She also taught Sunday school and was active in Cursillo.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 30, 2009 in the Bibb Memorial Chapel of the Church of the Nativity, 208 Eustis Ave SE, Huntsville, Alabama 35801. A brief ceremony of interment of ashes will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Christ Church, 605 Lurleen B. Wallace Blvd. N, Tuscaloosa, Alabama 35401. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christ Church in Tuscaloosa and designated for the Music Ministry.

Mr. William “Raymond” Aycock age 93, of Lithia Springs, GA, died Wednesday, September 15, 2010.
Mr. Aycock was born in Rome, GA, on March 2, 1917, the son of the late Richard C. Aycock and Ava Beard Aycock. He served in the United States Army during World War II in New Guinea and retired from Southern Bell. Mr. Aycock was a member of First Baptist Church of Lithia Springs. In addition to his parents Mr. Aycock was preceded in death by his wife, Jewel Cordle Aycock; a brother, Joe B. Aycock; and a sister, Florence Aycock Fowler.
Survivors include a son, William Aycock of Lithia Springs, GA; a daughter and son-in-law, Jacquelyn and Harold Howton of Lithia Springs, GA; four grandchildren and their spouses, Amanda and Thomas Barber of Lithia Springs, GA, Jeff and Lacey Aycock of Pensacola, FL, Monte and Erica Howton of Lithia Springs, GA, and Laura Aycock of Douglasville, GA; seven great-grandchildren; and two sisters and a brother-in-law, Ava Lee Horton of Rome, GA and Jerry and Wayman Holder of Rome, GA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the Oaknoll Chapel of the McGuire, Jennings, & Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Marion Beaver officiating. iIntermentwill follow in the Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

Richard C. Barry
DAWSON — Funeral services for Richard Conrad Barry, 76, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14 in the Dawson United Methodist Church. Dr. Robert Williams and Dr. Wyman Richardson will officiate for the services. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Barry died Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, at his residence.
A native of Crisp County, he was born Oct. 16, 1930, the son of the late James Reginald Barry Sr. and Emmie Lou Roberts Barry. He attended Crisp County Schools and was a graduate of the University of Alabama where he played varsity football and was a member of the A-Club and R.O.T.C. He also received his masters degree from Alabama and later his six-year degree in administration from Auburn University.
Mr. Barry served as a lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force, then for most of his professional life, he was in education. He was a high school teacher and coach in Metter, Cordele and Dawson for many years, and was principal of Terrell County High School for two years.
He served as Terrell County School superintendent from 1973 to 1992, and was a member of the Georgia Retired Educators Association, both local and state chapters.
Mr. Barry was a very active member of the Dawson United Methodist Church, where he taught the Berean Sunday School Class and over the years served in many positions including vice-chairman and chairman of the Administrative Board, finance chairman and lay leader. He was a member of the Dawson Lions Club for which he served as president for two terms and in many other capacities. He also was a member of the University of Alabama Alumni Association.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William Barry.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Elaine Cormack Barry of Dawson; children, Richard C. Barry Jr. and his wife, Maggie, of Charleston, S.C., Dawn B. Driver and her husband, Wendell, of Alpharetta, Eve B. Miller and her husband, Wayne, of Leesburg, Twila Barry Mixon of Ellijay, Paul Dixon Marshall of Waverly, Ky., and Lynn Marshall Smith and her husband, David, of Albany; a brother, James R. Barry Jr. of Cordele; two sisters, Peggy B. Jones of Cordele, and Callie B. Peele of Bath, N.C.; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

CORDELE — Funeral services were held for Katie Mae Posey Odom at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2006, in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home.
The Rev. George A. Nelson officiated, and burial followed in the Odom-Story cemetery at Warwick.
Jean Kent, pianist, played before and after the service. Betty and Bruce Eastman sang “Consider the Lilies” and “I Need No Mansion Here” to prerecorded accompaniment.

Joanne Green Fuller
CORDELE — Funeral services for Joanne Green Fuller, 55, will be held at 11 a.m. today, Dec. 15 in the chapel of Nance & Sons Mortuary in Cordele. The Rev. Max Rodgers will officiate and burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery.
Mrs. Fuller died Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006, in Palmyra Medical Center in Albany.
She was born Sept. 1, 1951, and was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Lucille Green and John Wesley Green, and a daughter, Laura Gail Fuller.
Survivors include her husband, Lester D. Fuller of Cordele; three children, Amanda Goodroe and Kellie Shae Fuller, both of Cordele, and Lester Fuller Jr. of Panama City, Fla.; three sisters, Diane (Max) Rodgers of Vienna, Mary (Tony) Adams and Spicey Green, both of Panama City, Fla.; three brothers, Charles Green of Cordele, Ray (Linda Gail) Green of Vienna, and Richard Green of Panama City, Fla.; two grandchildren, Justin and Breanna Goodroe, both of Cordele; and a host of other relatives and friends.
