BYROMVILLE — Funeral services for Leroy Wiggins Jr., 29, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 in the Baypoint CME Church in Byromville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Leon Williams Sr. will officiate the services.
Mr. Wiggins died Friday, Jan. 12, 2007, in Emory University Hospital in Atlanta.
He attended Dooly County Schools and the Art Institute of Arkansas. He was a member of Baypoint CME Church where he served as an usher, superintendent of Sunday School and on the Steward Board. Born in Crisp County, he was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Sr., and two sisters, Tara and Phelicia Wiggins.
Survivors include his mother, Daisy L. Wiggins of Byromville; his father, Herman Smith of Byromville; his sisters, Melister Wiggins and Kimberly Wiggins of Byromville, and Vickie Collier of Cordele; extended sisters and brothers, Erica (Cosmond) King, Denetric Smith, Christavious Smith and Shandria Smith all of Atlanta; his grandmother, Beatrice Leggett of Lilly; several aunts and uncles, Barbie (Johnny) Adams of Clayton, N.J., Selma Leggett of Byromville, Fletcher (Christine) Leggett Jr. of Camden, N.J., Albert Leggett of Cordele, Linda McGhee of Lilly, Charles Hunt Sr. of Vienna, Shirley Granville of Byromville, and John (Gloria) Wiggins of Dooling; five great-aunts and uncles, several cousins, other relatives and friends.

CORDELE — Funeral services for Brooksie Mae Campbell Lucas will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 in the sanctuary of Macedonia Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Church Cemetery. Her grandson-in-law, the Rev. Ernest Walker, will officiate the services.
Mrs. Lucas died Thursday, Jan. 11, 2007, in Crisp Regional Hospital.

VIENNA — Funeral services for William E. “Bill” Holliday, 63, will be held at 3 p.m. today, Jan. 21 in Christian Home Baptist Church near Rochelle. iIntermentwill follow in the church cemetery. Brannen-NeSmith Funeral Home of Vienna has charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Holliday died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, in an Albany hospital.

Bogart, GA
Ada Estelle Coker Jones, 85, of Burson Street died Sunday, October 3, 2004.
A native of Forsyth County, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Jones, Jr., and her mother Lillie Bell Johnson. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her son, George H. Jones of Bogart; daughter, Phillis Burnett of Greer, SC; five grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
Graveside Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2004, in Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Luther Fouche` officiating.
The family will receive friends at Bernstein Funeral Home Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00.

Annie Eastman (Sherman)

Annie Eastman, 91, of Forest Heights Drive, died on Tuesday May 10, 2005.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Eastman was the daughter of the late Charles and Harriett Beale. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle Eastman. Mrs. Eastman was a retired secretary in the Health Care industry and a member of Chapelwood U. M. Church where she taught in the nursery for 10 years.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Susan E. and David C. Sherman; grandsons and wives, Phillip A. and Sue Ellen Sherman, Kenneth D. and Joleen Sherman and David A. and Jennifer Sherman; great-grandchildren, Madison, Hillary, Evan, Jeffrey and Samuel; She was also a “special grandma” to Adam Lessard.
There will be a Memorial Service 7:30 pm Thursday, May 12, at Chapelwood U.M. Church with Rev. Thom Shores.

CORDELE — Funeral services for Anna Elizabeth Willard Hall were conducted Monday, Jan. 22, 2007 at 3 p.m. in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home.
Rev. Billy Nipper officated for the service, and burial followed in Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Hall, 75, died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2007 at her residence. She was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was born on Friday, May 29, 1931 to the late George Wesley Willard, Sr. and the late Sallie Mae Adcock Willard.
She was preceded in death by her husband Othel Ezra Hall. She is also preceded in death by her siblings Inez Lollis, Agnes Weldon, Jim Willard, George Wesley Willard, Jr., Joe Willard, Jackie Willard and Gene Willard.
Surviving her are two sisters Flora McNett of Cordele and Shirley W. Mullens of Jacksonville, FL; a sister-in-law: Eva Brantley of Cordele; and several nieces and nephews.

Alice Moon Kime, 73, of Crawford Smithonia Road died Tuesday, November 2, 2004.
A native of Oglethorpe County, Mrs. Kime was the daughter of the late Richard P. Moon, Sr and Estelle Burt Moon. She was a homemaker.
Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, November 6, 2004 at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery with the Rev. Chuck Tatum officiating.
Survivors include husband, Lester W. Kime of Crawford; son, Jimmy L.Coile of Lexington; daughters: Faye C. Hayes of Smyrna and Kathy Shelnutt of Athens; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

ASHBURN — Funeral services for Maredy Daniel “Danny” McCorvey Sr., 76, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 26 in the Ashburn First Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mr. McCorvey died Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2007, in a Macon hospital following a sudden illness.
Blondine Smith Cunningham
QUITMAN — Funeral services for Blondine Smith Cunningham, 81, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27 in the Quitman United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jay Roberson officiating. Private burial services will be held for the family.
Mrs. Cunningham died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, in Archbold Memorial Hospital following a lengthy illness.
Born in Marshallville, she was the daughter of the late Charles Emory and Mattie Musselwhite Smith. She was an X-ray and lab tech at Brooks County Hospital since 1951, and was a member of the Quitman United Methodist Church.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Dr. Wesley Simms of Thomasville; a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sharon Cunningham of Quitman; and three grandchildren, Robert, Chris and Alan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lawrence Cunningham Jr.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Dixon died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007.

Joe Raines
CORDELE — Funeral services for Joe Raines, 60, will be held at 4 p.m. today, Jan. 26 in Ebenezer Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Raines died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at his residence.
A native of Crisp County, he was born July 27, 1946, he was the son of the late James Earl Raines and Nettie Hayslip Raines. He was a member of the Crisp County High School Class of 1965 and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and secretary of the cemetery Committee. He was a charter member of the Crisp County Historical Society and the Sons of the Confederate Veterans. He served in the Georgia National Guard from 1966-1972. He was employed with Recycle USA as the Human Resources and Safety Director.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Atkins Raines of Cordele; a daughter, Melissa Raines Phipps and her husband, John Wayne of Warwick; a brother, Earl D. “Billy” Raines of Cordele; a sister, Pegg Ann R. McCardel and her husband, Cliff of Cordele; his granddaughter, Elizabeth Kate Trussell of Warwick; a step-granddaughter, Audra Lynn Phipps of Quitman, Texas; nephews, Darrell Raines and his wife, Kathy of Woodstock, Scotty Raines of Cordele, and Kyle Raines and his wife, Lynn of Eatonton; a grand-niece, Madisin Linn Raines; and other nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that in memory of Joe’s love for children that donations be made to the Ebenezer Baptist Church Benevolent Fund.

Sarah Doris Anderson Garrison

Mrs. Sarah Doris Garrison died at Family Life Enrichment Center at High Shoals, GA on December 17th after a long illness.
Born on October 27, 1921 in Oconee County, GA., Mrs. Garrison was the daughter of the late Edd Cohen and Ivey Delk Anderson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse C. Garrison and brother Jerome S. Anderson. She was a long time employee of both the Georgian and Snow White Cleaners in Athens and was a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include two brothers Henry Cohen Anderson and wife Darlene of Flowery Branch, GA; and Douglas D. Anderson and wife Mary of Kemah, TX; five sisters Edna Wree and husband George of Willis, MI; Lois Rotruck and husband Gene of Greensboro, GA; Marge Garrett of Greensboro, GA; Martha Kate Burger and husband Frank of Athens; and Virginia Thompson and husband Groves of Lilburn, Ga.. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews. A number of cousins also survive.
