CORDELE - Funeral services for Beulah Mae Quarterman Clark who died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007, will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 17 at 3 p.m. in the New Hope Baptist Church in Warwick.
Her brother-in-law, the Rev. Ivory J. Corbin will officiate, and burial will be in Red Oak cemetery in Doles.
Surviving her are five children, Blenda Clark, Timothy C. (Keda) Clark, John Lee (Arlesia) Clark III, Veronica M. Clark (Michael), all of Cordele and Valeria D. CORDELE - Funeral services for Deacon Jessie A. Pounds who died Friday, Feb. 9, 2007 will be conducted Saturday, Feb. 17 at 11 a.m. in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

Betty Summers
CORDELE - Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 19 at 11 a.m. for Betty Summers in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Westview cemetery in Nashville.
Mrs. Summers, 68, died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007 at Crisp Regional Hospital.
She was a retired housekeeper for Holiday Inn in Jefferson, Mo. The daughter of the late Lawrence Fred Burdette and the late Addie Mae Hudson Burdette, Mrs. Summers was born on Thursday, Mar. 10, 1938, in Kanawha County W.Va.
She is survived by her sons, David Arthur Summers of Cordele, and Richard Alan Summers and his wife, Karen of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; her daughter, Jean Gaskins and her husband, Duane of New Braunfels, Texas; her sisters, Carol Shaw and her husband, Hugh of Cordele, Virginia Huddleston and her husband, Lawrence of Charleston, W.Va., and Dolores Burdette of Cleveland, Ohio; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. today.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.

CORDELE - Funeral services for Deacon Clemmie C. Doster will be held at 3 p.m. today, Feb. 18 in the sanctuary of Odum Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. The Rev. Jeff Wilson will officiate the services.
Mr. Doster died Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007.

Herbert Joiner Ingram
CORDELE — Funeral services were held for Herbert Joiner Ingram at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 18, 2007, in the Cordele First Baptist Church. Curt Browning, the Rev. Harold Sangster and the Rev. Roger Hanson officiated the service. Kirby Ingram, Mr. Ingram’s grandson, gave the eulogy and his granddaughter, Karlie Ingram, sang “Surely The Presence.” Burial followed in Sunnyside Cemetery.
The Rev. Hanson led the congregation in singing “When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder, ” accompanied by Lynn Hanson, pianist, and Carolyn Hunt, organist.
Pallbearers were Billy Dorough, Jimmy Taylor, Ronnie Kitchens, Billy Clary, Al Shauf and Bub Denham.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the Cordele Kiwanis Club and members of the Baracca Sunday School Class.

CORDELE — Funeral services were held for Betty Summers at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. The Rev. Lawrence Huddleston and the Rev. Craig Howell officiated the services. Burial followed in West View cemetery in Nashville.
The Rev. Huddleston sang “When The Shepard Became The Lamb.” Other songs that were played during the service were “Amazing Grace, ” “Go Rest High On That Mountain, ” “When They Ring Those Golden Bells” and “Jesus Take The Wheel.”
Pallbearers were Charles Hunt, Charley Breazeale, Lee Hoffman, Arron Breazeale, Michael Hunt and Keith Webb.

UNADILLA - Funeral services for Fred L. Hall, 75, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23, 2007 in the First Baptist Church of Unadilla.
Burial will follow in the Mt. Pleasant Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Unadilla.

Dr. Kenneth B. Langley
MARGATE, FL - Dr. Kenneth B. Langley peacefully joined the Lord on Feb. 13, 2007 after a year-long battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Feb. 26 in the chapel of Hughes and Wright Funeral Home in Cordele.
A native of Chattanooga, TN, Dr. Langley who was born on March 14, 1927, had resided in Broward County, FL since 1959. He attended the University of Tennessee, graduated from the University of Tennessee Dental School in 1952 and practiced general dentistry for five years in Chattanooga.
Dr. Langley did periodontal graduate studies at Columbia University in New York and was the first periodontal graduate student at Emory University in Atlanta.
In 1959, he relocated to Fort Lauderdale, FL where he was the founding member of the Florida Society of Periodontics, an organizatioin which he served as president until 1967.
He was a member of the Southern Academy of Periodontists and served on the executive council from 1968 through 1973. He served as president in 1972. Dr. Langley was active in the American Academy of Periodontology and was elected as the first councilman from District 3. He served as treasurer of the Academy for three years and was later elected president in 1985. He was on the Academy Council from 1973 through 1986.
Dr. Langley also was a member of the Florida Dental Association, American College of Dentists and International College of Dentists.
He recognized the value of osseointegration titanuim implants for the field of periodontics and successfully fought to have the definition of periodontics revised to include this procedure. He was noted for his belief that “people can keep their teeth for a lifetime if they properly take care of their gums.”
Dr. Langley was active in his community, Rotary International and the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed bass fishing and was an avid football fan. More importantly, however, he had a heart for the Lord, loved his church and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his family.
Surviving him are his beloved wife of 55 years, Jeanette Whelchel Langley; three daughters, Kit Maurodis of Parkland, FL, Jane Butterworth of Green Cove Springs, FL and Linda Yurus of Clarkesville, TN; a son, John Langley of Tampa, FL and five grandchildren, Blake and Brooke Butterworth, Mathew and Lauren Yurus and Jordan Maurodis.

CORDELE - Funeral services for Corinne King Manning were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 23, 2007 in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. Rev. Don Howell conducted the service. Ray Faircloth, pianist, played soft music and accompanied Cindy Edalgo as she sang "Surely The Presence" and "It Is Well". Pallbearers were grandson, Sean King, Elburn Clack, Billy Raines, Jay Sudduth, Billy Butterworth and John West. Members of the Order of the Eastern Star and the Sara Wiley Sunday School Class served as honorary pallbearers. iIntermentfollowed at Sunnyside cemetery where the funeral rites for the Order of the Eastern Star were given.
Kevin Scott Hodge
CARTERSVILLE - Funeral services for Kevin Scott Hodge, 26, formerly of Cordele, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27 from the chapel of Acworth United Methodist Church with Pastor Joe Black officiating. A local funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 28 at Wenona United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Sunnyside cemetery in Cordele.
Mr. Hodge died Friday, Feb. 23, 2007.
Scott was a 1999 graduate of Cass High School in Cartersville where he played varsity football. He currently was a senior at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, majoring in construction management. He was a member of Wenona United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his mother, Jane Hodge of Cartersville; his father, Joe Hodge of Cartersville; a sister, Kristie Hodge of Cartersville; and a brother, Brian Hodge of Cordele.
Visitation will be from 6-9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Local visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday at Wenona Methodist Church.

Brenda ‘Gail’ Andrews
CAIRO - Funeral services for Brenda “Gail” Andrews, 50, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 23 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home, Cordele. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery.
Mrs. Andrews died Monday, Feb. 19, 2007, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany.
A native of Turner County, she was the daughter of the late Williams Roger and Magalene Sumner Fortson. She was a housewife and a member of the Bible Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Andrews, and a sister, Sue Paige.
Survivors include two sons, Gregory Lee Andrews of Cairo, and David Allen Andrews of Cordele; a daughter, Beverly Lynn Stewart of Cordele; a brother, Roger Lee Fortson of Thomasville; sisters, Jeanette Merritt of Cairo, and Linda Tucker of Cobb; four grandchildren, Christopher Andrews, Brandon Stewart, Devin Andrews and Bradley Stewart; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
The family will be at the home of Linda Tucker, 170 Gary Brewer Drive, Cobb.

Josephine Graham Crawford
CORDELE - Funeral services for Josephine Graham Crawford will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23 in Zion Hope Baptist Church in the Wenona Community. Burial will follow in Zion Hope Cemetery. Pastor Melvin Prince will officiate.
Mrs. Crawford died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, in a local health facility.
She was a lifelong resident of Dooly and Crisp counties and was a homemaker. She also was a member of Zion Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene Crawford of Cordele; nine children, Liza Mae (Sammy) Barrett, Joann Crawford and Charlene Crawford all of Cordele, Isiah Crawford of Vienna, Arlene (Kenneth) Cray and Myosher Crawford of Warner Robins, Robert (Joyce) Crawford of Pooler, James (Rosalind) Crawford of Tacoma, Wash., and Edward Crawford of Albany; a step-son, Roosevelt Walker of Cordele; 20 grandchildren; eight great-grands; two step-grands; an uncle, Clifford Washington of Americus; brothers and sisters-in-law, A.J.
