Randolph, Richard, 75, of Chattanooga, died Thursday, June 15, 2006 in a local hospital. Mr. Randolph was a life long resident of Chattanooga and was retired from Combustion Engineering with 37 years of service. He was a member of Morris Hill Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Director, Training Union Director, Maintenance Director, Youth Director and Building Supervisor. He was a son of the late James Alfred & Lizzie Randolph and was also preceded in death by five brothers, Eddie B., Melvin, J.D., Lewis, and Leon Randolph. Survivors include his wife, Annie Kate Randolph, three sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne (Saundra) Randolph, Ricky (Kendall) Randolph, both of Chattanooga, Danny (Nancy) Randolph, Lake Jackson, Texas, brother, Eugene Randolph, New Egypt, N.J., ten grandchildren, Candice, Ashley, Justin, Austin, Nathan, Aaron, Samantha, Travis, Cole and Allie Randolph and several nieces & nephews. Services will be held Monday at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Mason and Rev. Curtis Gravely officiating. iIntermentwill be in Lakewood Memory Gardens East with Nephews serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men’s Sunday School Class and friends. Buford Banahar Street
January 9th, 1922 - June 16th, 2006
Buford Banahar Street, of Chattanooga, died June 16th, 2006, in Chattanooga after an extended illness. He was born Jan. 9, 1922, in Slygo Valley, Ga. and was preceded in death by his parents, Martin Benson Street and Jessie Moore Street of Slygo Valley, GA and his first wife Edith Holtrey Street of La Grange, GA. Mr. Street served in the U.S. Army Air Corp, the U.S. Air Force, and the U.S. Air Force Reserves as a pilot and officer and was honorably discharged in 1982 with the rank of Lt. Colonel. He was a graduate of Dade County High School class of 1939, Wylie School of Business class of 1940, and Georgia Institute of Technology class of 1949 with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He had a forty one year dedicated career with the Tennessee Valley Authority in the Fossil and Hydro Division. He started his career at TVA where he worked in a clerical position at Hales Bar Dam for several years. He then went to the Georgia Institute of Technology where he earned an engineering degree. Upon his return to TVA, he worked in various engineering and management positions until retiring in 1987 as the Station Manager of the John Sevier Steam Station in Rogersville, TN. He was active with the Boy Scouts of America in the Great Smoky Mountains and Sequoyah Councils with four sons and two grandsons reaching the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a recipient of the Silver Beaver Award for distinguished service to youth from the Sequoyah Council. He is survived by his present wife, Patricia Adams Street; his daughter Bebe Ann Street of Jasper, AL., his sons Stephen Holtrey (Virginia) Street of Morristown, TN, Michael David (Elaine) Street of Chalon-sur-Saone, France, Patrick Moore (Lisa) Street of Six Mile, SC, Gerald Buford (Ellen) Street of Chattanooga, TN, and his step daughter Amy Nelson (John) Turnbow of Gardendale, AL. Also surviving are grandsons; Andrew Lewis Street, Benjamin Clifford Street, Charles Michael Street, Jonathan Matthew Turnbow, Timothy Andrew Turnbow, granddaughters; Angela Marie (Mike) Harris, Lucy Anna Street, Emily Claire Street, Rebecca Ann Street, Anna Holtrey Street, and Victoria Nicole Turnbow, great-grandson; Noah Michael Harris, and great-granddaughter; Natalie Marie Harris. Also surviving are his sister, Eloise Smith Hawthorne of Flat Rock, AL and his brother Donald Edward (Elizabeth) Street of Wildwood, GA. He was a member of First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and a member of the McAllester Sunday School Class. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in memory of Buford B. Smith, Robert D. age 76 of Chattanooga, died June 16, 2006 at a local health care facility. He attended the Christian Church and was a mason with the Olive Branch Lodge # 297 Jasper, Tenn. He was also a member of the Alhambra Shrine and Motor Patrol. He served on the Board of Directors of the Order of Rainbow. Mr. Smith was retired from Bell South with 37 years of service. Surviving relatives; wife, Dolores Richie Smith. Sons, Michael Smith of Chattanooga, Ralph Smith of Decatur, Al, Jonathan Smith of South Pittsburg, Tenn. Daughter, Peggy Smith of Chattanooga. Thurman, Mrs. Betty, 75, of Chattanooga, died Saturday, June 17, 2006 in a local hospital. Mrs. Thurman was born in Bradley County and had lived in Ringgold, Georgia most of her life. She had lived in Chattanooga for the past 12 years. Mrs. Thurman was of the Baptist faith and was a daughter of the late John William & Cassie Marler Eslinger. She was also preceded in death by two sisters and a brother-in-law, Dorothy Eslinger and Irene (William) Durham. Bartlett – Bonnie C., 97, of Apison, TN died Monday, February 19, 2007 in a local hospital. A lifelong resident of Apison, she was a member of Apison Baptist Church. Miss Bartlett was retired from Dixie Yarns after 25 years of service. She was a caregiver for many of her family members after her retirement. She was the daughter of the late Lee and Pearl Bartlett and was preceded in death by her sisters, Nina Ware and Jimmie Seymore and her brothers, Homer and Lat Bartlett. Survivors are her brother and sister in law, Curtis and Grace Bartlett of Chattanooga; sister and brother in law, Earline and Joe Roberts, Pisgah, Alabama; several nieces and nephews. J.C. Lee James Christopher Lee 43, Ooltewah, died Monday February 19, 2007. He was a lifelong resident of the Ooltewah and North Georgia area. Mr. Lee was a graduate of the Lakeview Fort Oglethorpe High School and was of the Baptist Faith. He was a former employee of McKee Baking Company. Mr. Lee was a grandson of the late Ira and Rose Lee. Crane – Geneva C., 79, of Ooltewah, TN, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 20, 2007. A lifelong resident of Ooltewah, she was a member of Pine Ridge Baptist Church and a member of the Pine Ridge Joy Club. Mrs. Crane was retired from Cutter Laboratories after many years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Douglas Crane, son, James Darrow Crane, and step-daughter, Connie Crane Tatum She is survived by one son, Curtis (Debbie) Crane, of Ringgold, GA, one Daughter, Vivian ( Paul) Crane Dills also of Ringgold, GA, grandchildren; Danielle Stafford, Wesley Crane, Shane Mongar, Sarah Nelson, Brandis Studdard, Jamie Crane, Shannon Crane, Kevin Crane and great-grandchildren; Rachel Stafford, Mei Nelson, and Calliope Nelson, Sisters, Ruby Varnell, Fannie Varnell, and Peggy Bonine. Harold Ronald Smith, Ed.D; 58; passed away in Washington DC Monday, February 12, 2007. Mr. Smith was born in Dayton, TN and lived in Chattanooga for 24 years. He was a graduate of Red Bank High School, graduate of UTC, and received his doctorate from UTK. He has lived in Washington DC for the past 33 years and was a Research Psychologist with the U.S. Department of Interior. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold S. Smith. He is survived by his mother, Gertrude Smith; sister, Jan Veal; niece, Sarah Veal; nephew, Josh Veal, all of Ooltewah; and his special dog, Winston. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Mr. Griffin died Monday, March 12, 2007, at his residence.
J.T. Cox
CORDELE — Funeral services for J.T. Cox will be held at 3 p.m. today, March 18 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery.
Mr. Cox died early Friday morning, March 16, 2007, at Crisp Regional Hospital.
He was born to the late Ira Dallas Cox and the late Willie Mae Littleton Cox in Crisp County. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, serving in Normandy and received the Purple Heart.
Mr. Cox was the retired owner of J.T. Cox Texaco and was a charter member of Pinecrest Baptist Church. As a faithful church member, Mr. Cox served as Brotherhood secretary, a Deacon, an Everett Ross Sunday School Class member and was in the 39’ers. He was also a member of the D.A.V., American Legion and Woodmen of the World.
Survivors include his wife, Beatrice N. Cox of Cordele; two sons, Wayne Cox and his wife, Betty of Monroe, and Mike Cox of Cordele; two grandchildren, Brent Cox and Brandi Cox Howell and her husband, Lee; and two great-grandchildren, Dallas Howell and Dalton Howell.

CORDELE — Funeral services were held for J.T. Cox at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 18, 2007, in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home.
The Rev. Don Cole and the Rev. Don Howell officiated the service. Burial followed in Sunnyside cemetery with the Albany American Legion Post 30 performing the Flag Folding Ceremony and playing “Taps.” Marvin W. Mixon presented the flag to Mrs. Cox.
Pallbearers were Sonny Dowell, Wayne Herndon, Virgil Nipper, Kenneth Carter, Steve Mitchell and Bill Brookerd. Honorary pallbearers were Duain Newsome, Aubrey Alford, Jimmy Bray, Curtis Driver, Ron Gay, Danny Ross, R.G. Easom and Owen Bray.

Bennie Stanley Odom
WARWICK — Graveside funeral services for Bennie Stanley Odom, 60, will be held at Warwick Methodist cemetery in Warwick Sunday, March 18, 2007 at 3:00 p.m.
He died at East Central Regional Hospital-Gracewood in Augusta Friday, March 16, 2007. Born Monday, Nov. 18, 1946 in Crisp County, he was the son of the late Cullen and Florence Whiddon Odom.
Mr. Odom is survived by two sisters, Jackie O. Fraser of Peachtree City and Ann O. Hogan of Albany; and two brothers, Mack Odom of Steinhatchee, FL and Glenn Odom of FortPayne, AL.
The family suggest that memorials be made to the charity of your choice.

Mary Ella G. Craft
ASHBURN — Funeral services for Mary Ella Giddens Craft, 67, will be held at 4:30 p.m. today, March 22 in the New Prospect Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Perry Funeral Chapel of Ashburn has charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Craft died Tuesday, March 20, 2007, in Ashburn following a sudden illness.
George Ronald Royal
VIENNA — Funeral services for George Ronald Royal, 84, will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, March 22 in Riverview Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery.
Mr. Royal died Monday, March 19, 2007, in a Columbus hospital.
Born in Vienna, he was the son of the late Ashley Quinton Royal and Winnie Mae Dunn Royal. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in the Philippines and Australia during World War II where he received two Purple Hearts. He retired from Robins Air Force Base and also was the retired owner of Royal Dry Cleaners in Vienna. Mr. Royal was a member of Riverview Baptist Church, the VFW and the American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Fleta E. Royal of Vienna; sons, Ronald Gregory (Patricia) Royal and Randy George (Kim) Royal of Pinehurst; a daughter, Sandra (Bruce) Pockrandt of Perry; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
His grandson, Brandon Royal, preceded him in death.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 332 North Lauderdale St., Mailstop 505, Memphis, Tenn., 38105.
