VIENNA — Funeral services for Carlean Riggins will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21 in the sanctuary of Lebanon Baptist Church in Vienna. Burial will follow in the Vienna City Cemetery.
Ms. Riggins died Saturday, April 14, 2007.
Survivors include her mother, Mendora B. Riggins of Vienna; a son, Gregory B. Riggins of Vienna; a daughter, Felicia Riggins of Vienna; grandchildren, LaShay Riggins, ReShay Riggins and Sharhonda Burnam all of Vienna; great-grandchildren, Sherniqua Taylor and Jarvis McNair of Vienna; a sister, Agnes (Otis) Mitchell of Vienna; a brother, Willie (Rose Lee) Riggins of Vienna; an aunt, Ernestine B. Virginia Bailey Culpepper
CORDELE — Graveside services for Virginia Bailey Culpepper, 79, will be held at 11 a.m. today, April 26 at Ebenezer Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Culpepper died Wednesday, April 24, 2007, in Cordele Health & Rehab.
She was born on Saturday, Nov. 12, 1926, in Crisp County to the late Luther Allen Bailey and the late Juanita Hardin Bailey. She was a homemaker and was married
to the late R. Fred Culpepper for 53 years. She dedicated her life to being a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Fredrica and Randy Darsey and Ann and the Rev. Tim Clark all of Cordele; sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Elaine Culpepper of Vienna, and Tom and Carol Culpepper of Cleveland; four grandchildren, Dustin Darsey, Skye Darsey, Misty Culpepper and Michelle James; and three great-grandchildren, Fredrick Taylor, Cody Taylor and Megan Taylor.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Hardin Allen Bailey and James Thomas “Sonny” Bailey.

John Holman Brown
1929-2004
Hull, GA
John Holman Brown, 74, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004.
He was born in Clarke County on December 1, 1929. Mr. Brown was the son of the late J.H. Brown and Lee Anna Tolbert Brown. He was preceded in death by his son, Byron Holman Brown; a brother, Howard Brown; and nephew, Tommy Brown. He was a graduate of Athens High School, a member of Athens Historical Society, and a member of Athens Antique Car Club for 36 years. He retired from Trussell Ford-Mazda after 32 years and was employed by T.H. Evans Enterprises for 19 years until his death. He was a member of the Athens First Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Betty Sanders Brown; daughter and son-in-law, Meliss and Randy Power; grandchildren: Morgan and Josh Power; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Arnold and Lizzie Sanders all of Hull; sister-in-law, Maggie Brown of Athens; niece, Shelley Thomas of Blairsville; and nephew, Lauren Brown of Atlanta.
Funeral Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 22, 2004 at Bernstein Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ray Jenkins officiating. iIntermentfollowed in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Thomas Evans, Darrell Sheats, C.A. Lowry, Edwin Oldham, Thomas Cothran, Gerald Maddox, Johnny Simmons and Tommy Patterson. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of T.H. Evans Enterprises.
The family received friends at Bernstein Funeral Home Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1060 Gaines School Road, Ste B-2, Athens, GA 30605.

UNADILLA — Funeral services for Pearl Lee Wallace, 88, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, April 28 in the Holly Grove Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Big Poplar Springs Cemetery. The Rev. Leonard Boston will officiate the services.
Mrs. Wallace died Monday, April 23, 2007, in Pinewood Manor Nursing Home in Hawkinsville.
She was a native of Calhoun County, the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Frances Thrower. She was the widow of the late Deacon Matt Wallace and was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church where she served on the Mission Board, Usher Board and Mother Board. She was affiliated with the St. John Chapter No. 88, OES, United Sisters of Zion No. 3 of Pineview. In her younger years, she was active with grammar school PTA’s and did lots of community work.
Survivors include three daughters, Christine (Roy) Kingdom of Vienna, Mattie Pearl (Eddie) Corbin of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., and Helen (Kenneth) Porter of Warner Robins; a sister, Ida M. Robinson of Roszell, N.J.; five brothers-in-law, C.J. (Annie Eva) Wallace, Sammie Wallace, the Rev. Solomon (Caldon) Wallace, Aaron (Mary) Wallace and the Rev. Arch Whitest; three sisters-in-law, Allene Cantrell, Eva Thrower and Vester Thrower; 16 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

CORDELE — Funeral services for Deacon Benjamin Myles will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28 in the sanctuary of Mt. Zion First African Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Bethel Cemetery. The Rev. Dan James III will officiate the services.
Mr. Myles died Wednesday, April 18, 2007.
He was a member of Mt. Zion First African Baptist Church, where he served as chairman of the Deacon Board. He also worked diligently in the Gum Creek Missionary Baptist Association and was a member of Masonic Lodge #83.
Survivors include three sons, Joseph Myles and Gregory (Catherine) Myles both of Houston, Texas, and James Myles of Miami, Fla.; five daughters, B. Ruth Jones and Lessie (Marvin) Mason both of Hempstead, N.Y., Gloria (Rodney) Raiford of Douglasville, Jacqueline McClendon of Monroe, and Melvinia Milborn of Miami, Fla.; brothers, Seth Crapp and Arthur (Claudia) Crapp of Miami, Fla.; a brother-in-law, Willie James Baker; 16 grandchildren, Diane, Lezandra, Cheryl, Scott, Laverne, Tracy, Alvinia, Faith, Demascus, Sherri, Timothy, Ashley, Myles, Raqual, Cynthia and Lateefs; 13 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Rachele Lynette Oliver
CORDELE — Graveside services for Rachele Lynette Oliver will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, April 29 at Bethel Cemetery. A memorial service will follow immediately at the Crisp County Middle School Auditorium.
Miss Oliver died Tuesday, April 24, 2007.
Born Nov. 21, 1982, in Crisp County, she was the daughter of Artis and Helen Johnson Oliver, and the granddaughter of the late James H. Johnson and Anna M. Johnson of Bloomfield, Conn., and Mattie Pearl Williams of Tifton. She was a 2001 honor graduate of Crisp County High School and soon after graduation, moved to Atlanta. There she attended the Art Institute of Atlanta and received an associate degree in graphic design, which led her to employment at HPC Publishing Primedia/Consumer Source Inc. of Norcross as a senior creative specialist. She was a hard worker, valued by the company and greatly appreciated by her co-workers who were close to her.
She grew up under the loving spiritual influence of her parents and the Cordele congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. As a young adult, she dedicated her life to Jehovah and continued as an active member of that congregation. Upon moving to Atlanta, she continued her loving ministry to Jehovah as part of the Emory congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. There she formed many loving relationships that supported, sustained and comforted her in her difficult time of need.
Rachele was a vibrant, independent, young woman who loved life. She had the kind of personality that drew people to her and could easily make friends. She was truly loved by all who came to know her.

ALBANY — Vincent Mulas Hall, 37, died Monday, April 23, 2007, at Phoebe Putney Hospital, Albany.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 28 in Zion Hill Baptist Church, Leslie. iIntermentfollowed in Eastview Cemetery, Americus.
Mr. Hall was born Aug. 27, 1969 in Americus, to Sandra Jackson Hall and the Rev. Eugene Hall. He was a 1987 graduate of Sumter County Comprehensive High School and a 1992 graduate of Georgia Southwestern with a bachelor’s degree in psychology and music. In 2006, he received his masters degree in education and counseling from Troy State University of Alabama. Vincent was employed with various educational institutions including Georgia Southwestern University, Americus, Georgia Southern University, Statesboro, and Turner Job Corps of Albany, as a counselor of residents and training supervisor. Vincent was the minister of music with the following churches and groups: Seeds of Faith, Zion Hill Baptist Church, Leslie, Macedonia Baptist Church, Lee County, Mt. Able Baptist Church, Desoto, Ship Chapel Baptist Church, Americus, Zion Hope Baptist Church, Sumter City, Big Bethel Baptist Church, Desoto, Union Oak Grove Baptist Church, Andersonville, Old Corinth Baptist Church, Americus, Marthanna Living Way of Christ, Desoto, Leslie Community Choir, Americus Community Choir, Upward Bound Gospel Choir, and Georgia Southwestern Gospel Choir. He is the grandson of the late Deacon Napoleon Jackson, Alberta Jackson and Willie Ruth Hall.
Survivors include his mother, Sandra Hall of Americus; father, the Rev. Eugene Hall of Leslie; sister, Amelia Biggs (Timothy) of Columbus; brother, Keith Hall of Las Vegas, Nev.; nephew, Jackson Biggs of Columbus; aunts and uncles, Gloria Ware and Collene Palmer of Miami, Fla., Francis Morris (Rev. WARNER ROBINS — Funeral services for Alice Johnson, 56, were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 28 in the chapel of Ferguson Brothers Funeral Home of Rochelle. Burial followed in Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery, Rochelle. Minister Travis Johnson officiated the services, directed by Ferguson Brothers Funeral Home of Rochelle.
Ms. Johnson died Monday, April 16, 2007, in Warner Robins.

COLUMBUS — Graveside funeral services for SFC Floyd I. Sutton Sr., 75, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2006 at Fort Benning Main Post Cemetery.
SFC Sutton passed away of natural causes Wednesday, May 3 at Martin Army Community Hospital in Fort Benning.
Born in Rochelle, Floyd was the son of the late Charles Otis Sutton and Minnie Bagwell Sutton. He married
Laverne Poss on July 1, 1955. He served 20 years in the U.S. Army. During his military career he served two tours in Korea, and was awarded several medals and commendations. He later retired after sixteen years with Sol-Loeb Wholesale Grocery Co. of Columbus.
Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Laverne Sutton; three sons, Floyd Jr., Randy and Shon, daughter, Donna; four grandsons, Chris (Susan) Barkdull, MM3 Curtis Barkdull, James Barkdull, and Dustin Sutton; granddaughter, Emily Sutton; five great-grandchildren, Paxton Barkdull, Ethan Barkdull, Brendon Barkdull, Lily Barkdull and Madison Barkdull; four brothers, James Sutton, Johnny Sutton, Otis Sutton, and Billy Sutton; five sisters, Annette Abbott, Dorothy Terry, Robbie Terry, Alice Brooks, and Marion Herring; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Patricia Hendrix Tapper
Cordele — Funeral services for Patricia Hendrix Tapper of Macon will be held at the graveside at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 3, at Dorough Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Tapper, 50, died Sunday, April 29, 2007 at The Medical Center of Central Georgia in Macon.
She was born in Germany on Sunday, Sept. 2, 1956, and was a retired waitress.
Survivors include her son, Jarrod Tapper of Fort Benning; a daughter, Heather Durst of Johnson City, Tenn.; her parents, Marvin Randolph Hendrix and Ruby M. Hendrix, both of Ocala, Fla.; her brothers, Roger Hendrix of Apopka, Fla. and Paul Hendrix of Winter Garden, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Dominick Durst and Cadence Durst.
