Mr. Kelly died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2007 in Columbus.
Lynette S. Black
CORDELE — Funeral services were held for Lynette S. Black at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2007 in the chapel of Hughes & Wright Funeral Home. The Rev. Joe Brookshire officiated the services and Ashton Black read a poem. Burial followed in Sunnyside Cemetery.
Marcene Freeman, pianist, played for the services. She also accompanied Raymond Gibbs, Cathy Gibbs, the Rev. Royce Freeman and herself as they sang “Go Rest High On That Mountain” and “Beulah Land.”
Pallbearers were David White, Gary Boyer, Michael McGee, Chad McGee, Cory McGee, Justin Scordoris, J.B. “Bubba” Black III, Reggie Staines, Ronnie Staines, James Wright and Jay Staines.
Hughes & Wright Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
David Allen Wright
VIENNA — Graveside services for David Allen Wright of Vienna will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2007 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Wright, 53, died at his residence Wednesday, September 5, 2007.
He was born March 25, 1953 in Wayne County, MI and was the son of the late James Clinton and Joyce Delean Forkum Wright. A truck driver, Mr. Wright was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and a member of the Church of Christ. He is survived by a brother and his wife, Clinton Brad and Sharon Wright of Vienna; a step-brother and his wife, Robert Kelly and Judy Wallace of West Bloomfield, MI; two step-sisters and their husbands, Sandra Sue and Phillip Keelin of Davison, MI and Cheryle Kay and Richard Davis of Auburn Hills, MI; nephews, James Bradley Wright and his wife, Julie, Jerry Bryant Musselwhite and Ben Musselwhite, all of Vienna and Brandon Wright and Travis Wright, both of Sparta, TN; a great-niece, Lanie Nicole Wright of Vienna and several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Wright, and his step-mother, Noble Wright.
Charles Stalls
PINEVIEW — Funeral services for Charles Stalls, 66, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the M.G. Frazier Memorial Chapel of Frazier & Son Funeral Home in Rochelle. Burial will follow in the Christian Hill Cemetery. The Rev. David Clark will officiate the services.
Mr. Stalls died Monday, July 16, 2007 at his sister’s residence in Sylvester.
Born Nov. 26, 1940 in Wilcox County, he was the son of Eunice Watson Stalls and the late Thomas John Stalls. He was a farmer and member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his mother, Eunice W. Stalls of Pineview; a brother, J.D. Jones of Pineview; sisters, Joyce Turpin of Sylvester, and Julie Craft of Abbeville.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Ruby Johnson Worley
CORDELE — Funeral services for Ruby Johnson Worley, 94, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Rainey Family Funeral Services. Burial will follow at the Oklahoma Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Worley died Sunday, July 15, 2007 in Tift Regional Hospital.
Born Monday, July 14, 1913 in Wilcox County, she was the daughter of the late Eli Warren and Edna Gordon Johnson. She was a homemaker and the co-owner and operator of the family farm with her son and his wife, Harold and Elaine Worley, for more than 39 years. She was a longtime member of Oklahoma Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School and served as church treasurer for 50 years.
She is survived by three children and their spouses, Mildred and Grady McBryant, LaRue Worley and Harold and Elaine R. Worley, all of Cordele; and two grandchildren, Gina Mackey and her husband, Matthew, and Philip Worley and his wife, Adrienne, all of Cordele.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Worley, and her siblings, Homer Johnson and Viola King.
Visitation will be from 6:30-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. At other times the family may be contacted at the home of Mildred and Grady McBryant, 1013 E. 28th Ave., Cordele.
Charles E. Bowen
PINEHURST — Funeral services for Charles E. Bowen, 81, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Liberty Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mr. Bowen died Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at his residence.
Born in Dooly County, he was the son of the late Oscar Bowen and Annie Lee Porter Bowen. He was a faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church where he served on the board of deacons and the building and grounds committee. He also taught Sunday School, was the church clerk for 25 years and church treasurer for more than 20 years. In addition to his duties in the church, he also served on the Dooly County Board of Tax Assessors and was a county election official for many years. Mr. Bowen was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a retired farmer.
Survivors include his wife, Ernestine Bowen of Pinehurst; daughters, Diane B. (Mike) Davis of Warner Robins, Gayle S. Bowen (Jerry Barker) of Fort Valley and Sheila B. (Dale) Brown of Arabi; a sister, Laverne Bowen of Pinehurst; grandchildren, Benji Brown and Jeremy Brown of Arabi, Lindsey B. (Mike) McCarty of Cordele, and Blake Davis of Warner Robins; and a great-grandchild, Austin Arnett of Arabi.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Myrtis V. Bowen, Orine B. Windham, Rosa Lee Peavy and Claude W. Bowen.
Visitation will be from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Benjamin Frederick Preston
1913-2005
Benjamin Frederick Preston, age 92, of Milton, Fla., died April 26, 2005. He was the son of the late Benjamin Frederick Preston, M. D., and wife Lillie Smith Preston of Farmington, GA. Following his graduation from Madison, GA A&M; , Ben volunteered for the U.S. Marine Corps. He was severely injured in Hawaii and honorably discharged and returned home to recuperate. After a long healing period he, on 7 May 1940, volunteered for the U.S. Navy. Ben retired 27 September 1968 having served 30 years military service. During his service he was stationed on many U.S. Carriers and in many foreign ports from Beijing (then called Peeping), Newfoundland and Guantanamo. He was stationed on the island of Okinawa, in San Diego, Calif., etc. but always returning back to Jacksonville or Pensacola, Fla.

Graveside services will be in Farmington, GA cemetery April 30, 2005 at 3:00 pm.

Mr. Bodrey died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007 in Halifax Hospital in Port Orange.

Hilda F. Edwards Malcolm, 69, of Hunnicutt Drive went home to be with her Lord, Friday, June 17, 2005, surrounded by her family at her home.
A native of Oconee County, she lived most of her life in Athens. Mrs. Malcolm was the daughter of the late Joe S. and Juanita Elrod Edwards. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother and Granny. She was a member of Forest Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Boyd G. Malcolm; special pet Penny; son and daughter-in-law, Darrell E. and Dedra Malcolm of Burlington, NC; daughter, Carol A. Malcolm of Athens; brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Diane Edwards of Jefferson; grandchildren; Jennifer Malcolm, Lindsey Malcolm, Christopher Malcolm and fiancA©, Kristi Yow; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Sunday June 19, 2005 at Forest Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Purdy officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Deacons of Forest Heights Baptist Church.

Mrs. Barnes died Thursday, Sept. 6, 2007 in Crisp Regional Nursing and Rehab.
Born Feb. 9, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Duncan and Ola Hawkins. At an early age, she joined Gethsemane Baptist Church and in 1978, joined the Power of Deliverance Church where she served as church mother.
Survivors include her daughter, Laquetta (Woodrow) Bivins of Cordele; a granddaughter, Holli Y. Thomas of Cordele; two sisters, Kate McKinnon of Miami, Fla. and Ida Pearl Singleton of Tampa, Fla.; a host of nieces and nephews to include a special niece, Denise Dennard of Cordele; and many friends and loved ones including Dr. Ulysses Morgan Jr. and the Power of Deliverance Church family.

The daughter of the late Artis Adams and Mae Ellen Adams, she was the widow of the late Benjamin Lewis. She attended Dooly County Schools, was a homemaker and member of New Poplar Springs Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Jeanette (Johnny) Kendrick of Byromville; a son, John Adams of Unadilla; five sisters, Mary (Joseph) Hill of Cleveland, Ohio, Lucille Caldwell of Unadilla, Mildred (Jing) Scott of Montezuma, Martha Howell of Warner Robins, and Willie Mae (Frank) Holmes of Ideal; three brothers, Calvin (Pauline) Adams and Willie Lee (Bernice) Adams of Byromville, and Thomas J. (Voncile) Adams of Oglethorpe; an aunt, Lula J. McKenzie of Warner Robins; five grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and devoted friends, Frankie Lee Williams and Juanita Shaw of Byromville.
